  1. It's this, absolutely. Due to certain medical issues he was unable to work and literally spent 10 or more hours a day on here working on the site. I don't know that we'll ever get it back to quite where it was.

  2. I've watched a couple games of CH (films) and they have a decent size O & D-line...again that is from watching film which can be deceiving. Their backs and WR's are on the small size but they can go. From what I can tell they do have one WR that is tall. Lots of screens and quick routes to get the ball in their playmakers hands. RB's like to bounce everything to the outside. Corners need to move up towards the line of scrimmage and wrap-up!

  4. Well looking at my numbers coldspring avg 32.4 points a game and gives up 8.7 Anahuac avg 40.1 and gives up 19.7... Coldspring has 3 shut outs and has held 8 teams under two tds Coldspring district went over all 23-44 Anahuac district went over all 30-36 Anahuac avg 7.7 more points then coldspring a game while giving up 11 points more a game. Coldspring has the swing in a 4 point advantage but this game could go either way. Im goin with coldspring 24 anahuac 21

  7. Matthews just needs to go pick a few Running Backs off the Big 4A Running Back Tree at the High School an they’ll be fine. Lol. SMH I believe Vidor needs to sprinkle in some no huddle hurry up offensive possessions. Huffman rotated fresh D linemen all game when we played them. When we went to a hurry up offense we started eating up chunks of yards. If Vidor allows them time to rotate fresh dlineman all night it’s going to be a tough moving the ball on them. You can’t wear down your opponent if you give them time to keep fresh D lineman on the field.

  8. As Unwoke pointed out, almost all the injuries at RB. Much of 2nd half against HH Vidor had two 3rd string RB’s. They gave it their all, but still…. When you run the Slot T, you have to have good RB’s. It’s comparable to a spread team having to use the 3rd string QB & Receiver. But give the young men good, they still managed to come back against Ltown. Whether they’ll be able to pull it off against CH is now the question. Vidor’s biggest advantage could be that the CH D is undisciplined. If so, the Pirates can take advantage of that. And speaking of depth, I heard CH rotates their DL. Must be nice to have that many quality DLs. Also, Mabank (also in Dist 9) runs a similar offense to Vidors. CH beat them 50-22, but I don’t think they actually run the Slot T. MaxPreps has no video highlights on them, so it’s a mystery. I think CH is going to be a very tough win.

  11. Obvious these Dist 9 teams don’t play much defense. I hope the hard hitting Pirate D might unsettle them somewhat. My biggest fear is the big play. The off tackle run with a missed tackle & the RB takes it to the house. The short pass for 5 yards that ends up being a 65 yard TD. Pirates need to wrap up and hold on. If Vidor can make a few long, time consuming drives for points, the CH offense is going to feel the pressure to do something. Our biggest advantage will be if the CH defense is undisciplined. If they go for the first or second fake, the third guy with the ball will eat up some serious yards. Vidor should win this but CH will be pumped up to knockoff the Dist 10 #1 seed. Go Pirates. You can win this game even with a peg leg.

  13. And as much as we miss the ton of work he put into this site, we miss his quick wit and insightful posts more. He was one of a kind and irreplaceable in every sense of the word. But thank you to Mike (and Lisa) for doing all you can to try and pick up the slack. As bullets said, I don’t think it will ever be like it was. That’s what happens when you try to replace the irreplaceable.

  14. Maybe CH will see our size and think they will have their way with us and counter their intimidation tactics and we can punch 'em in the mouth early and often on offense and defense and let them know the Pirates came to play and WIN. One thing about the Pirates over the years, they aren't intimidated by any team, especially this group.

Great deal of speed you play against in the playoffs. Best of luck to Evadale, Deweyville, Hull-Daisetta, Burkeville. Best of luck to all our local teams!

  17. We played Huffman pretty well in the Dayton/YMBL tournaments even though we lost in 3 both times. Scores were very close as well. It was really early in the season when we played Stephenville at the Wimberley Tournament so my memory may be a bit off but I seem to remember that they had size (taller than Huffman) and one middle was really good. Good blockers too, I think. Stephenville took Hardin down in 2 games. Scores were in the 25-16/17 range, I believe.

  18. Yeah turnovers could really do a number on you, well I wish y’all the best I think it’ll be a good game to watch for sure, definitely one of the best 1st round games, I graduated from EC but live in the San Marcos area now are the teams from this area in region 3 too? I’m

  19. We took advantage of an easy schedule basically... Only losses were to Shepherd (a head-scratching loss) and Diboll (In my opinion if QB doesn't turnover the ball in the red zone twice a game we could of won by 14). Other than that although I have faith in my Trojans outside of the Diboll game, Anahuac will be our biggest challenge thus far.

  21. Well, I don’t know if you kept up, but one of our main guys…. An admin here passed away this summer. He was the one that was responsible for putting all this together. Right now, we are still trying to shuffle things around to bring all that valuable content here.

  22. The team hasn’t given up nor do I think they are taking that attitude. The seniors on this team don’t want this to be there last game, so I expect them to come out and lead the team. For the fans the last to games haven’t given us much hope! We will be there to support the team as we do each week, but reality is that we haven’t beat a good team this year. The team that took Crosby to OT has to show up or we’re done. Holdren and Hagler as good as they are can’t take the team to the next round with out support! Receivers have to catch the ball early and often to open the ground game up and the defense will need their best game. Goodluck to all of our district we’re here to support you too with Crosby first Thursday night to set the tone!

  23. Honestly I've been ready for b-ball season to start for a few weeks now. It's just been one of them years for Tiger football. Can't wait till the 20th. First home game against PA. I would prefer us to be at full strength for that one.

  24. I had a ranch stocked with Tyrannosaurus Rexs, where Montana is today. You’ve never roped nothing until you wrangle a Rex. And when it’s breeding season…..…get outta here. No place for a man or any other beast. Had a few head of mammoths on the south fork. Used to have a bunch but the Rexes went on a feeding frenzy. Them beast could break an all you can eat buffet. 😂🤣😂

  28. I would make Anahuac a 6 point favorite. If Coldspring can play keep away with their offense and not turn it over, the Trojans can win this game. Anahuac's win over Woodville was impressive after watching Woodville beat East Chambers. Anahuac played in a much tougher district than Coldspring so they are battle tested.

    PA v HJ

Correct. They have 0 player development. I haven't been to a game since my sister graduated but I can guarantee you they still don't the difference between or when to use a bounce, chest or over head pass. That's basketball 101.

Why dont you write a paragraph using "run on" sentences with "incoherent" vocabulary? The HH coaches could then be enlightened.

  45. Vidor is the perennial underdog I cheer for, therefore I’ve come to like them. A few weeks ago Vidor supporters were complaining that they weren’t ranked after the body of work they had put in to date. I commented in that DCTF rankings thread that they shouldn’t be worried about the rankings and instead focus on how they’re going to matchup with the east Texas district at the line of scrimmage in the first and potentially third rounds. Well, here we are. Vidor is in a situation where a bi-district win probably gets you three playoff games. Riordan was 2-0 against the slot-t at Crosby and has some horses up there at TCH. I’m cheering for both teams in this one albeit for different reasons, good luck to the Pirates.
