I can tell you how to solve the problem on choosing your next coach. Whoever coach T recommends should be your next coach. No one knows better than coach T. If you will remember, it was Hooks who recommended coach T and that worked out pretty good.‘3 points -

Everyone points out the one Nederland loss. I have a hard time counting that one considering it was three quarter game. WOS didn't get to exercise their fourth quarter strength and conditioning, with or without Thompson.2 points -

The thing about this team is you just dont see anyone taking plays off. Everyone seems to give it everything all the time. Then you have the Miller and Harris who can both get to the rim at pretty much anytime and can shoot the deep ball. Add that to Haynes and Bottely who can both light it up from deep and get to the rim. The bench has a bunch of speed and defense as well as some that can definitely get hot and shoot the ball. But to me the biggest thing so far this year has been the play of Williams down low, he is playing like he is probably 6 inches taller than he is and playing with the strength of an ox. Not to mention numerous times of jumping those passing lanes and making a big steal! Things are going to be pretty interesting the next few years in Tiger land. Especially if we can get those big freshmen to become producers and then add the possibility of getting Jones back next year….2 points

Seems pretty clear to me that while United is clearly the best area team, Silsbee is the second best by a good margin as well. They just keep stacking impressive wins.2 points

You are still stuck on Trump. Your obsession is obvious to all, but oblivious to you. Then again, you are well versed at projection. And you keep trying to say you are "teaching" us. How comical. I bet you have a Trump poster taped to the ceiling above your bed.1 point

I see many teams with good records right now that play in Silsbee district..I can guarantee there is payback coming for Vidor and Lumberton from last years loses. LCM as well. Silsbee schedule is the toughest in the area only to United. Im excited about what this Tiger team can do. The Dallas Tournament will be very tough but helpful longterm. I look forward to Silsbee vs HJ as well.1 point -
The biggest problem Chicago has is that it has been under your party's leadership for decades. If pointing that out is bashing, so be it. Your point about visiting is ridiculous, you've never sat down and talked to Trump so what makes you qualified to bash him. That's how dumb your point is...as they all are.1 point

Has nothing to do with the game being called early. I was there. What I saw was not a typical Mustangs team. There was an obvious lack of leadership at the top.1 point -
I am sure there are applicants with better overall records then Foreman or the other WOS coaches applying, but would an outside coach, who knows nothing about WOS tradition, culture & the community coming in changing things be what's best for continued success???1 point

For your consideration, he's coaching in a military town. Never know who's gonna return, or get transferred to another base in mid-season. I think at one point they were ranked last season. His first year there, 0-10. So I can see a turnaround for them1 point -

I'm hearing 2 names repeated right now Hickman and Toby. I just don't understand why we don't open it up and go threw the process and the best Athletic Director/Football Coach wins. We need an AD bad not a football coach. Hell DPG, Carly and the guys grow these boys threw our Little Mustangs Football. You guys want to know why we good come to the fields and look at all the Little Mustangs getting groomed for the Silver Helmet. We need someone to care about all sports. We had a good basketball coach here last year that left because they wouldnt let him open the gym. Same stuff going on for the new coaches. This is more than football we need an AD that can turn the whole program around.1 point -

reigning this in. This is the biggest topic in HS football in this area for quite some time. I don't want the thread locked. You can take all this to the political forum if you want. I can handle a little bit of speculation about the motivations of the hiring committee, but you went waaaaaaay off the beaten path.1 point -

SmashMouth reacted to Hagar for a topic
I believe I’ll pass. I’m not much on heights. My first job was a Safety Clerk at a local plant. We checked fire extinguishers once a month. One was at the top of an 80’ tower (nothing to folks not bothered by heights). I went up there once - scared to death. Went up at night so to expose my weakness to fewer folks. Made it to the top. Holding the railing in a death grip, not knowing there was a loudspeaker up there, until they hollered. I jumped so bad my hard hat fell off 80’ to the ground. I wanted to kill the two guys who came out of the control room laughing but it was all I could do to make it down, lol. Still, I was proud I overcame my fear enough to make it up there - once.1 point -

A couple of facts since everybody seems to be an expert on Lufkin now. 1. Lufkin is 15-2 now 2. Lufkin's best post player did not suit up. He is their 1st or second best player depending on the night. 3. I am not sure I would call Lufkin's schedule extremely weak. Not as good as Crosby's, I would agree. Played @ College Park who was a preseason top 5 team in Houston in some polls, went to Dallas to play SOC, West Brook, HJ, Center and went to Silsbee. You are right some are smaller teams but all those are ranked smaller teams. I am not saying that Lufkin deserves to be ranked, just disagreeing with the extremely weak schedule part. Just trying to clear up some of the misinformation on this thread.1 point -

Bottley made five 3 pointers. Probably had around 20 points. Haynes played but he wasn't his usual self at all. May take a few games for things to start to feel right. Still don't know the exact status of our 6`4 freshman. Haven't seen him since the injury. Hopefully he can come back and get some games under his belt later in the year.1 point

Yes, but I think you misread my post, or didn’t realize the context. Peevey makes that much because he’s the head football coach AND athletic director. I had quoted a post saying they wished that WOS would keep Thompson as the AD and bring in another football coach. There’s no way a small 4A school would pay the money to fill both of those positions, and not many established coaches would come in to be the head football coach without getting the AD money to do so.1 point

Forgive what? I don't think Toby moped around whining about Coach T getting the job nor does WOS need to be forgiven for promoting a coach with over 40 years in the system who took them to at least the region finals 10 of his 11 years. I'm thinking Toby will be on the short list of quality coaches.1 point -

Crosby vs Liberty Hill - Predictions
Unwoke reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
Even with him AND #20 having huge days it took Crosby falling apart with a two td lead in the fourth quarter for them to come back. Went and re-watched the game and there's a number of "simple" things that Crosby could've done to have it not finish the way it did. The main one is Crosby being up 8 points with a few minutes left and allowing LH to recover an onside kick and eventually score. To compound that Dunn fumbles at the 50 yardline on our last drive in regulation when it looks like we're about to go right back down the field and score to seal it. Coach Poth's most recent stops have been at Rudder and Marshall respectively but he's originally a South Texas guy and has seen plenty of the slot-t when he was the DC at Somerset. I think we'll be a lot better prepared this year.1 point
