As previously stated, by a pretty good margin. The scariest part (for future opponents) is their youth. Almost invariably, the younger a team (especially a well coached one), the more growth and improvement you will see. I think a lot of us expected big things from the Tigers by season’s end. But I, for one, would have lost some money betting on some of these early season games. I expected them to compete but this has been AS impressive a pre-district run as I’ve seen from the great Tiger teams.5 points

I think it's pretty clear that Silsbee is 2nd best team. But for argument sake, I would put these coverage area teams ahead of Nederland in that debate: Atascocita, La Porte, Hardin-Jefferson, Goose Creek Memorial, Manvel, Summer Creek, and West Brook.2 points -

Just a few observations: (1). Analytics and Offensive stats are a waste of paper in high school basketball .They can be very misleading by outings against weaker competition . (2). The best judge of a “go to player” are the kids themselves. The opposing defense may limit that player’s ability to get the ball but the players know who should have it. (3). If we have a coach at any level who doesn’t know if his best players are on the floor during crunch time he’s probably in the wrong profession. I haven’t seen a local coach who doesn’t know where his best players are.2 points -

No one is coming from a large school in DFW to take over WOS, and even if they do, they will build their credibility as a HC and leave the first chance the get at a bigger job back in DFW. WOS would do well to hire Foreman and attempt to continue the tradition of having a head coach plan to stay until retirement at WOS. If they inject themselves into the rat race, it could be a long tumble into mediocrity for the program. Toby is the safe hire. If he fails, then you can jump into the rat race. Just my opinion.1 point

I am pleasantly surprised they have played as well as they have against a tough non district schedule, thus far. This team rallys around their coaches and two team leaders Harris and Miller. The latter puts down a dunk & the whole team comes off the bench and onto the court to celebrate with him. That is a good sign. The DISD tourney will be interesting. I am confident they will give it their best. That's all you can ask.1 point

The truth of the matter is no one has moved. It’s all bunch of talk. Some mustang fans were disgruntled this year on social media about the video and said they should send there kids to LCM because they felt like the WOS coaching staff didn’t care about the kids. The most important thing for this kids is an education and a coach to come and be a great leader to them. Everything else will fall in place1 point

I figure if the Superintendent could call me out by name to Admin, he surely Would be able to comment to the public. Last I looked these are not lifetime political positions. Starting from the top. Tax payer money??? I’m all ears. I stand by what I said 100%… And I think the kids have spoken. So to all the school board members and Admin, the ball is now in their court. Everyone has a voice. It’s called a democracy. For anyone who doubted my original post, you can quit now. I was 100% on target using a source that leaked the news from their own camp. Maybe in the future the board will be able to shed some light on the situation. But in the end, it’s all about votes. So 8500 season ticket holders will have a voice on all new elections. Do the right thing is all the kids asked. Makes sense to me….1 point

Correct, that example is apples and oranges. Stephenville was a doormat before Briles. Carthage was average at best before Surrat, change was needed at those programs. Not the case at WOS.1 point
-
At the time Toby had no HC experience and Thompson had been the backbone of the program for decades. The right (and only) choice at the time was Thompson. Now Foreman has the experience. Its his time.1 point
-
If this is true, it could make or break the sups career. Surely this isn't true. The Silsbee coach has 0 head coaching experience. He better not turn the keys to that program over to an outsider with no experience.1 point

Don’t know if he wants the job but Mike would be a good choice in my opinion. He’s been with WOS for many years an knows the Mustang way an is a hard nosed no nonsense solid individual. No doubt Mike was a hell of a player in his day. We both graduated in 1986 from Vidor High School an I know him to be a great individual. I believe he’d be a good choice to replace Coach T.
