I have alot of respect for the other perennial powerhouse of the area. But how's newton's coach been working out? Remember 70-0 when he first came down for a game. I only say this because the people I know from Newton claim they'll never be the same program after WT. Same could be said for us. Only time will tell. And to whoever said something about genetics... there will always be athletes here. It's the coaching that makes the difference. Just ask LCM

As an outsider and a person who has always respected WOS you guys have one thing that will be there despite whomever they hire and its great genetics. That will still be there. College lineage NFL lineage. WOS will be just fine

I’m a WOS fan and I fully understand the strong concern for the right fit of the head coach and interest of all applicants. If the WOS supporters had as much interest in applicants when hiring a principal or other administrative positions, WOS would excel in more areas than just football. As someone said, there’s more important things than football.

KOGT has been the only pipeline of local news with weekly visits with the judge, LIT Orange, county and city meeting minutes, police reports, local business promotions, charitable events, etc. Dang, as I’m listing them its becoming more evident that Orange County will hurt without KOGT. Furthermore, KOGT promoted many school events other than football. They broadcast, baseball, basketball, softball as well. These are programs that attract less attendance but still attracted a radio audience. It won’t take long after their closing to realize the true impact.

Vidor...Def. returning a good group of LB's and Secondary...Off. will have some playmakers and speed at the RB positions.

Carthage will be a strong contender and should be the favorite. They return 10 on offense that played in every game. Freshman number 85 played tight end and was honorable mention in district is a super star in the making he is 6’3 190 and did a great job. 54 at 5’ 11” and 275 lbs is another freshman on the D line with a lot of playing time. Carthage has only played three freshmen prior to this year since coach Surratt has been at Carthage. Cuff should be much improved at QB and bigger, stronger, and seasoned at 6’ 4” 200 pounds. Both running backs, two wide receivers, and four O lineman return. The Dawgs will have to replace 9 on defense, but two of the best classes moving up are loaded with play makers. We may see several freshmen on the varsity this year because they are the next great class and I do mean great class coming. They blew everyone that played off the map. Surratt was the QB and he is special. He is coach Surratt’s son. They have size and speed just like the 2017 seniors had at their age.

without counting the playoffs, Peevey took LCM from 1-7 to 8-2 lol still the biggest turnaround in our district ...but like i said earlier, its hard to argue the coach from the top seed earning COY

Mathews is a great coach, Peevey is a great coach! Peevey took LCM to 4th round this year. Vidor has not been there since 1964. Im sure he would rather go to 4th round, than get coach of the year.I know I would. Either way both coaches do a great job.
