  1. The same violator on the QB also had a way late hit out of bounds he was flagged for earlier on our RB. Your so called dirty play from the safety was a hard physical hit between the whistles... your QB should not have thrown the crossing route with the safety there. Absolutely NOTHING validates the hit on the QB by the Silsbee kid....that was equivalent to the sucker punch on the poor LCM kid in the basketball game. You can not justify it....period This is one of the many things wrong with some kids today, they think they have a reason to retaliate over the wrong things. How about repeat that over and over....and how it lead to losing games in a great rivalry. And the irony of saying he needs thick skin is lost on the fact it took thicker skin to listen to the stupid people(who would rather play a game than ensure the rhetoric going on did not turn into something more) drag the man's name through the dirt....over and over again. Our community has members who will do more than just talk(see the basketball game results), so why risk it?? NO ONE in Jasper was dodging Silsbee....Just letting it cool over. ok.....my rant is over proceed

  5. I don't consider kids who moved to another school during their middle school years to be "transfers". Just my opinion. I really don't have too many issues with transfers except for those who transfer repeatedly (say 3 schools in a 4-5 year span) or junior/ senior transfers when it is obvious what they are transferring for (athletics). Many, many times the move is justified (jobs, relocation because of family, etc.) but some folks have an agenda. Every school has at one time or another benefited from a transfer in some sport.

  10. People sometimes don't like hearing/seeing truth. But it's absolutely the truth.. Kountze from Early/mid 2000s would be blowing out not only every team in district, but likely all of 3A. It is what it is.

  11. I think Summer Creek will be better than CE King this year. My co-worker's son plays qb for them and said they lost 17 of 22 starters. They also have a new coach with their old coach moving to an AD only role. Pretty brutal district overall though. Atascocita has been to the 3rd round of the 6A-D1 playoffs seven years in a row and is basically an afterthought. When is the last time no Beaumont public schools made the playoffs?

  13. JT was 5-2 going into the Highland Park game. Started 0-2 against the better teams and then won the next 5 against teams that finished the season sub .500. They didn't beat a team with a winning record all season. McFall is a good young running back. I follow recruiting closely so I've been watching film of all the top '24 backs in the state. He was obviously the best option at qb when the starter went down and y'all still lost your last two games by a combined 91 points. I get the optimism and you may be correct but you said yourself y'all lost talent. I'm just pointing out that it looks like y'all did. I've been keeping up with Chappell Hill since our old coach took over a few years ago and two of my sons used to go to Sherman so I'm just familiar with the area results in general. Again, you may be correct and JT goes 16-0 but recent history says it's more likely that they'll be battling Forney or McKinney North to see who gets to make the long trip down to Crosby for their bi-district game.

  14. Lol the dominant lions would be winning these district games by probably a avg of 25 ppg. I have high hopes for the future of these young lions but right now they aren’t close lol IDK who said they were.

  18. District 10-4A-D1 I think the top 3 could flip around although I'm going for Lumberton since there were lot of starting skill players who were underclassmen this past year so they'll be one year better, LCM can always upset things and Vidor will reload but I think both the L's can take them. 1. Lumberton 2. Little Cypress Mauriceville 3. Vidor 4. Huffman Hargrave 5. Livingston 6. Splendora

  20. I agree. I watched btw and yates yesterday. Yates is pretty much the team silsbee was last year as far as depth ,youth and potential. They plated btw hard and well from start to finish, and could’ve pulled it out. BTW is tall , plays tough on both ends. They press on and off throughout the game , and drive hard to the basket . They also use their length well underneath… their weakness is Proby silsbee’s strength .. depth !!!! There’s a major drop between btw’s starter’s and their bench

  22. 8-5A-D1 1. Crosby - Crosby played 31 of a possible 32 games last realignment. Austin Westlake was the only 5A/6A school to play all ‘em all. The move up in class will be a challenge but Crosby is 13-1 the last two years in district play, at this point y’all just need to beat us. 2. BH/PAM - BH has a lot of very good individual skill players returning. You see how far FB Marshall’s great skill players got against BH’s trench play though. BH lost some good trench guys and the best backfield they’ve had in 15 years. We’ll see how they restock. 3. PAM/BH - PAM is the plant workers version of Humble when they were in 5A. Regional final talent with district runner-up coaching. How do you replace Sanders this year when you never showed an ability to develop a second act last year? 4. Baytown Lee - Probably has the best coach nobody in the coverage area talks about because of where he is. I think the kids from back there off the state streets still get in the dance. 5. Kingwood Park - I really don’t know why I think KP will be better than they end up every year? 6. Porter - I think you’re getting into some bad teams here and Porter is just the best of the bunch. 7. GCM - Looks good getting off the bus and if the new coach is any good they should be able to beat Sterling. 8. Baytown Sterling - Somebody has to be second to last in a nine team district. 9. La Porte - Hate is didn’t work out for Coach Tarr but the fishing at Sylvan Beach was probably going to be better than your football team and you ain’t catching **** out there. They should be in the running with Sterling and GCM for the “everybody gets to play game”.

  27. Clueless

    2022 Season

My observation the past several years. If your kid is lucky enough to play college ball, the overwhelming majority struggle at the D1 level. Meaning lack of playing time, as well as adjusting to the every day grind that they’re not use to. Most leave after first year and go to a Juco to see if they can find a spot somewhere to get more playing time. All of a sudden they find Juco ball is extremely tough as well. They don’t have as much practice restrictions as D1. It’s brutal and body gets beat up pretty good. If you follow local players, watch how many last past two years and I’m talking some really good players in HS. Right now, college ball at all levels is very strong. Also, last year D1 had unlimited rosters due to Covid. This year they can have 40 on roster, and next year it’s back to 35 on roster. It’s definitely an uphill battle, the kids that want to play at next level better bust his tail in class, weight room, and skill set. After that work extremely hard on the mental aspect of the game, because that’s where the majority struggle. I could talk all day😁, but this my opinion based on having a kid currently playing and our talks.

  28. In district 3-2A D1 you have a 426 mile one way trip from Christoval to Anthony! That is the same distance from Orange to Junction. Orange to Texarkana - 260 miles Orange to Fort Worth - 330 miles Orange to Laredo - only 30 miles longer at 457
