Good to see I am not the only one that has noticed what Finn has done at Lee. John Wooden had a quote along the lines of success is doing your best to become the best you are capable of becoming. I think Lee has really reached their full potential of what they are capable of being these last three years. I hope he stays a while.

LaPorte is similar to Baytown Lee, whereas, the growth has peaked and there isn't any new housing being developed, to attract families that are looking for a place to live. Enrollment at both schools has continued to drop, watering down the talent pool. Finn(Lee) has done a tremendous job with what he inherited, and has to work with. By far the best HC in GCCISD. It will take that same kind of mentality to get LaPorte back in the mix. Lee(south baytown) and LaPorte are right across the water from one another, and both are on similar paths moving forward. Blue collar kids need a blue collar coach.

I think he will probably retire from Lee. He has a program that has totally bought into him, and hes been the best thing they've had since Olin. Not too many coaches could do what hes doing over there. His only problem, which has kept them from being more successful, is depth. They score a ton of points and had athletes that just got tired midway thru the 3rd qtr.

what if that coach knew he had several players in foul trouble and knew he better rest one to give him a scoring threat with fresh legs in the 4th? People seem to forget no one wants to win worse the guy that sits on the end of the bench. I don’t know the coach or any of the HF players but it’s hard to win with players that walk off in the middle of the game. That’s not on the coach.

It’s “disdain” not distain. WOS has no worries with their football program. But if you were an educator, maybe your post points to the real issues over there. js.

I’ve no idea about the two new teams Vidor has scheduled, but of the other 3, Santa Fe is a step up to 5A, and Silsbee & Brazosport both made the playoffs last year, so it’s not quite the cup cake some think. My wish list for Vidor’s non-district, Silsbee, Nederland (ah yes, the old rivalry game, lol), Jasper, PNG and Crosby (needed one sure win). 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣👽🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂

Good pool of candidates. That’s what I expected with a household name like PNG. Bomar Gene Johnson is a very good coach with college experience Flanigan Freytag is a guy that’s had succes although at a smaller school Cody Gambill Good Luck to PNG. Lots to be excited about. Hopefully Coach Joseph is given a chance and people leave him alone.

All this talk about the boys being so young, the Silsbee girls starting lineup is also really young. They ain't beating HJ though. Not sure it'll even be that close if that game happens.
