I don’t agree with his antics but with common sense I could easily see he was much better than the alternative If the 81 mil is a real number then that is truly scary cause it shows we have a much bigger problem in this country…..that common sense has been replaced with emotional response. WOS seems to be kind of bipolar. There are the "got it together" Mustangs and if they show up tonight they will win by double figures. Then there are the "pretty much a mess" Mustangs and if they show up they will probably be blown out. The "got it together" Mustangs lost the 2nd ranked team by only 3 and beat the 11th ranked team by 16. The "pretty much a mess" Mustangs lost 3 of their last 6 regular season games losing to every good team they played. The 3 wins were unimpressive and included a 2 point win over Lumberton and 4 point win over Vidor. I hope the "got it together" Mustangs show up because a quarterfinal between WOS and Silsbee at the Montagne would awesome.

All the above. No turf, no playoff games. Both teams in playoffs, no people available to work. I've been told Silsbee will be installing turf next year. Basically a done deal. I see playoff games happening then. As for hosting basketball playoffs, a couple of teams wanted to play at Silsbee this past Monday and Tuesday but Silsbee said no.

They had a common opponent in Palo Duro (3-18). Hard to compare against a weak opponent dating back to December, but, La Vega won 64-39 and HJ won 66-21. of course, it’s one game at a time and they make you play them for a reason.

That part yep!! Need to shoot at least 38-40% every night from 3. When Silsbee hits 10 plus 3s there hard to beat.

Maybe it’s because we are country folk but this guy kills me.

Man, I remember a day where the likes of Hemphill and Kountze would play all of their games in an unairconditioned gym because that is what most small schools had. Kids these days are soft.

What should have been a blow out was kept close by GCM repeatedly taking long range 3's (and missing) and refusing to take advantage of their size advantage. BH was scrappy and hit a ton of clutch shots. Kudos GCM almost went full Baytown, but thankfully they only went 3/4 Baytown. It was a great atmosphere though.

I’ve said it before, but it really is scary how the overwhelming majority just acquiesced their freedoms to government control. Wear a mask - sure! Stay home - sure! Take a shot that doesn’t provide protection - sure! Require papers to sit down at a restaurant or travel in our free country - “Well gee the govt said it was best” - sure! Carthage has always had athletes. Carthage also played in the old 4A (5A now) for a long time. They moved down to a level that better suited their enrollment, got a great coach, and then won a title. 95% of the schools in Texas do not play with the athletes at their respective level that Cathage does. Very few schools have the facilities and resources Carthage does as well. Kudos to Surratt and staff though. It wasn’t always the case. He deserves everything he has got. But let’s not naively and ignorantly say that he could go to any school in the state and win a title in a 7 year period. It’s simply not true.
