In my opinion, you and Todd WERE Setxsports. The behind the scenes leg work was outstanding and extensive. How many times did the mods ask questions and you both had answers quickly, no wavering or ambiguity and backed us up. The mods know and others might soon find out the void that has occurred with Todd’s passing and your retirement. It has been my privilege and pleasure to work with you. Job well done. Enjoy the beach and your other pursuits.5 points -

Some folks have known but I will make it public. My time as a full time administrator/broadcaster is up. I told my wife of 33 years that when she retired from teaching that I would retire with her to the beach. She retired last May and I told her I would finish out the football and basketball seasons of this year then I would join her. (would have joined her in May but needed to stay on after the passing of our beloved admin WOSGrad). I am so ready to be a beach bum. I have enjoyed these past 17 years here on the site. I have seen it grow from just a little message board to now be considered a valuable media outlet. It truly has been a labor of love. First of all, I want to thank Jordan Wilson, the owner of this site, by inviting me on as a staff member and eventually an administrator. He trusted me with the help of running this site and allowed me to "do my thang" and start my broadcast career. It has truly been a blessing. Thanks I want to thank Todd Broussard (WOSGrad) who is looking down on us from heaven. He has been my partner in crime for all these years and is the reason this site is what it is today. He was the man!! I dearly miss my old friend and I hope that he is up there saying "job well done my friend". Thanks Todd for everything you did for me and this site. I want to thank all the staff members here. Particularly Lucas, Mack, Robert, Terry, Matthew and all of the other staff. You have helped make this the place to be as for Southeast Texas sports. Thanks for all the support over the years. Thanks to all the coaches that I have come to know and work with all these years. Thank you for your support and cooperation and your acceptance of me and SETXsports. I am truly grateful. Thanks to all the members here who really are what makes this site so great. I have become friends with several here and I cherish all the times we have spent on and off this site. God Bless all of you. I wish all and this site the very best. I will still be around some but it will be mostly from my chair on the beach with my toes in the sand holding a cold one. Thanks again to everyone and May God Bless.2 points -

A Fireman was working on the engine outside the station, when he noticed a little girl nearby in a little red wagon with little ladders hung off the sides and a garden hose tightly coiled in the middle. The girl was wearing a fireman's helmet. The wagon was being pulled by her dog and her cat. The fireman walked over to take a closer look and said, That sure is a nice fire engine. The little girl girl replied, Thanks. The fireman looked a little closer. The girl had tied the wagon to her dog’s collar and to the cat’s testicles. The fireman said, Little partner, I don’t want to tell you how to run your rig, but if you tie that rope around the cats collar, I think you could go faster. The little girl paused for a moment then replied, You’re probably right but then I wouldn’t have a siren.2 points -

You do realize that Ned, PNG, and some other schools in this area (including Jasper) have been playing football for almost a 100 years and also started out in lower classifications right? In fact, there weren't even numbers on the classifications until the 1930s just letters. Jasper was in the same classification as PNG until 2004 and for a few years the same district.2 points

What Ms. Hill and you fail to realize is that Peace through Strength doesn’t mean running away from threats and pissing down your leg at every threat a guy like Putin puts in front of you. He knows we have a nuclear option as well. Sad thing is that when your a “kitty cat” like Biden, a guy like Putin can say “Boo!” and Biden will run away and go take a nap. After the nap he’ll try to explain to us that some mean things were said (by Putin…not Trump), and he would sure hate for the big bad bully to get on our bad side. What a little be-otch.1 point -

Truck driver has a diner he frequents.. a new waitress approached him & ask what he was having. He says - 3 flat tires, 2 headlights & a couple of running boards. She goes to the cook & says the man is crazy, and then tells him what the guy ordered. The cook laughed & says he’s just messing with ya. He wants 3 pancakes, 2 eggs sunny side up, & 2 strips of bacon. So the waitress takes him a bowl of beans. The guy says - I didn’t order this. And the waitress replied, well….I figured you could gas up while you wait on your breakfast.1 point -

5GallonBucket reacted to oldschool2 for a topic
The way that it SHOULD be done is that there are 5 on 1st Team and 5 on 2nd Team.. and your MVP, Off MVP, Def MVP, and Newcomer come from those 10 that are all district. That's how college and profession teams do it.. because a basketball team (that is on the floor) is 5 players. If coaches insist on having more than 10 then there needs to be a 3rd Team All District.. or load up the honorable mentions.. All of this 9 on 1st Team and 11 on 2nd Team and co-this and co-that is literally the epitome of "everyone gets a trophy". It's disgusting to me... just give everyone something and admit that you're scared of your parents.1 point -

Jasper lost their OC right before two-a days if I remember correctly (who went back to the Spread from the Slot/Wing T that we had been running) and that along with a lack of game breakers and physicality on offense made that side of the ball a constant sore spot for us. I don't think anybody quit. LCM was more physical on defense than they have been in years and they just beat us. End of story.1 point -

Sunshine Protection Act
5GallonBucket reacted to tvc184 for a topic
I like the change of times because it modifies when the sun came up as far as our clock workday and when it goes down. The issue is and always will be that the sun doesn’t always cooperate with work or outdoor activities. At different times of the year it rises and sets at different times. Everybody knows that but sometimes when I see discussing daylight saving time, it apparently goes over some people‘s heads. Whether we continue going back-and-forth once in the spring and once the fall or if they settle on one really doesn’t matter much. The funny part is when I see the same argument over and over…… I lose an hour sleep in the spring. Yes, on a Sunday morning you will get one less hour of sleep. The crazy part is you would think that the person always got up at exactly the same time the other 364 days. During the entire year apparently some people never get up early to go hunting or fishing or go to work a bit early for overtime or have a headache or…… I (and at least Bullets13) members of a hunting forum website and I guarantee it practically every one of the thousands of members gets up way earlier than normal to go hunting or fishing many times during the year. Those are the same people that say, oh my God, I have to wake up early one day. Things that make you go hmmmm……1 point -

2022 District Predictions
Justafan72 reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
Crosby is the only team in the district that finished above .500 that also brings back their starting QB. Myles had the best statistical season for any QB in Crosby's history last year, if he improves the way Walter, Cotton and Howard did between their junior and senior years I don't think Crosby will lose any regular season games. Walter, Cotton and Howard went a combined 28-2 during the regular seasons of their senior year. I think the benefit of having an additional year of practice over the last two seasons will really show this season. Crosby's average margin of victory in district play was 33.3ppg last year and I really don't see that dropping much this year. That long bus ride to PA is going to suck though.1 point -

Just give it a rest guys, these are neighborhood kids, not kids playing from different cities or something like that. Ever been to a Bucees? Ever been on a weekend or holiday? They have a hundred or more pumps, and on a weekend or holiday almost everyone is full. It only takes a few minutes to fill up our gas powered vehicles, but hours to recharge an EV. How will all of them get recharged? It takes a special kind of stupid to initiate a green plan without covering all the bases. A special kind of stupid? I’ve just described the current Democrat.1 point -
