I agree, but you have to play within your budget. Ever since they brought football back, the other sports have been an after thought. They have Baylor, A&M, LSU, Oklahoma on this years baseball schedule. They usually play Rice and Houston every year, even before Davis got to LU. They play 30 conference games, and then 9 games against above mentioned teams. That leaves 17 games on a 56 game schedule. It’s common to play some northern teams at beginning of the year to help those kids get games in . Gillian did the same exact thing. I’m not a big Davis fan, but on baseball I feel y’all are being too harsh honestly. I do feel they should be recruiting more local kids.

Some folks have known but I will make it public. My time as a full time administrator/broadcaster is up. I told my wife of 33 years that when she retired from teaching that I would retire with her to the beach. She retired last May and I told her I would finish out the football and basketball seasons of this year then I would join her. (would have joined her in May but needed to stay on after the passing of our beloved admin WOSGrad). I am so ready to be a beach bum. I have enjoyed these past 17 years here on the site. I have seen it grow from just a little message board to now be considered a valuable media outlet. It truly has been a labor of love. First of all, I want to thank Jordan Wilson, the owner of this site, by inviting me on as a staff member and eventually an administrator. He trusted me with the help of running this site and allowed me to "do my thang" and start my broadcast career. It has truly been a blessing. Thanks I want to thank Todd Broussard (WOSGrad) who is looking down on us from heaven. He has been my partner in crime for all these years and is the reason this site is what it is today. He was the man!! I dearly miss my old friend and I hope that he is up there saying "job well done my friend". Thanks Todd for everything you did for me and this site. I want to thank all the staff members here. Particularly Lucas, Mack, Robert, Terry, Matthew and all of the other staff. You have helped make this the place to be as for Southeast Texas sports. Thanks for all the support over the years. Thanks to all the coaches that I have come to know and work with all these years. Thank you for your support and cooperation and your acceptance of me and SETXsports. I am truly grateful. Thanks to all the members here who really are what makes this site so great. I have become friends with several here and I cherish all the times we have spent on and off this site. God Bless all of you. I wish all and this site the very best. Well it was just a joke. If you don’t like it you don’t have to visit the website. No one really cares where Toby goes. It’s a joke because he’s always applying to jobs, and Not really a big deal.

Would anyone please stop talking about Toby? If Toby is happy being the head coach elsewhere, then that it's his choice! We can try and convince Coach Foreman to come but if he is happy with his current position, we have to learn how to respect it! Women's Ass size study There is a new study just released by the AmericanPsychiatric Association about women and how they feel about their butts.The results are pretty interesting: 1. 5% of women surveyed feel their ass is too big. 2. 10% of women surveyed feel their ass is too small. 3. The remaining 85% say they don't care; they love him; he's a good man, and they would have married him anyway

I promise we all want them to be competitive with those programs, but they haven't been able to do it consistently due to a combination of lackluster recruiting and coaching. Why doesn't Lamar get the same quality of athletes and coaches as those other programs? Money. Every one of those schools you mentioned has at least 5% more of an athletic budget to work with compared to Lamar. ACU's financials aren't posted online because its a private school. Lamar athletic budget: $13.6 mil. Tarleton athletic budget: $14.2 mil. (5% more than LU) SFA athletic budget: $15.7 mil. (16% more than LU) SHSU athletic budget: $16.8 mil (24% more than LU) So until Lamar is able to spend on a similar level with these other schools I, along with most other rational Lamar fans, will keep my expectations grounded. Money absolutely matters in college athletics, and the new AD needs to really push administration for more leeway to spend on par with their peers.

I agree with this and this is the problem we have in this country that we'll never be able to overcome. We have a country full of people that had no clue that when they put biden in office the country would be weakened and continue a downward spiral just like we're seeing. I remember back in the day TJ had some great baseball in the house. "X-man" was a pitcher I remember, and there were lots others. Seems like PA sports have pretty much cratered lately.

Your not hurting my feelings big boy, but I’ve looked at your posts involving all Lamar sports and Nederland sports. Ever post you’re being critical of every sport, kids playing abilities, and anything else you can complain about. I just simply said if you think every coach, players, fans whoever suck so bad, throw your name out there so we can dissect your old playing days and what you offered to Nederland sports and Lamar University. That’s all. I’m at every baseball game that LU plays and they are a decent team, lacks some pitching, but overall a pretty decent team. Personally, they should’ve stayed in Southland. A very good post by you and you are very correct on the all time state of Lamar athletics I simply think they should be able to compete with the ACU, SHS, SFA, Tarketon State programs but they don’t. Why? And again I agree with you always mediocre, so for me their expectations are too low

I believe the exception to the rule are coaches. Especially high school football coaches/ teachers. They put in some hours.

I know that being a Jasper guy means we shouldn't like anything about you guys, but Coach T is great. Every now and then when Jasper has had open weeks. I would listen to your games on KOGT and I loved the postgame interviews.

It varies. UIL has no say in all district teams. For 22-4A, they have a policy of no less than 8 players on 1st and 2nd teams. So at minimum there will be at least 16 players who make all district.

Anyteam that pays there money...i do know this year its the same weekend as the (N.B.P.A) National Basketball Players Association Top 100 camp which is invite only for Srs. down in Orlando Florida and would'nt surprise me if Yates is there. Also the Highschool Coaches can Coach there teams this year in the TABC event.

I hate it when 3/4 of the starters in the league get all district. It waters down the prestige of making the team, and also sucks for the like 6 starters who didn’t get something.
