Blame kids? It's not their fault. You should coach at a small school and report back on what happens when you have 20-25 players and "none" of them can run a 4-9 40 or weigh more than 220 pounds. Show everyone "how to win". Show everyone how to make those 5-0 40s catch a team full of 4-5 and 4-6s. Show everyone how to make a 200 OL with a 205 lb bench press move a 280 lb DL with a 300 lb bench press. You will be in high demand with your knowledge.

I understand emotionally polarizing. People hate it when you stick your finger in their face and say “I am better”. It doesn’t matter the argument. People hate being told they are wrong. But let’s step back and look at reality and history. Do conservatives think about pushing a more aggressive guns rights (actually just upholding the 2A) than in the 1970s? 80s? 90s? 2000s? No, it has pretty much been the same all along. How about cutting taxes? Is that a radical agenda? Has it changed? Securing our border? New and radical? In fact that is supposed to be such a priority under the Constitution that the right against unreasonable search and seizure under the 4A, doesn’t exist at the border. It is so important that under the Constitution, you have no privacy rights at the border. Again, is that a new and radical agenda? Is that pushing the hard right? Now that look at the Democrat side of open borders. How about Senator Obama saying that border security was important? President Clinton? They publicly stated that securi the border was a vital issue. How about President Obama saying the same and urging Congress to add more money to strengthen the border. [Hidden Content] But let’s compare that to now. Do the Democrats think more about securing the border down as they did when President Obama and President Clinton were in office? Obviously they want the borders wide open now, regardless of what it will cost the US taxpayers, regardless of what it will cost people looking for jobs that are American citizens, etc. The Constitution gives an absolute right to secure the border yet The Democratic now are bent on opening the floodgates. Has that been their position all along in the last 50 years or is this in the last couple of years because Trump wanted to build a wall? Who has become radical? How about men competing as woman from the Democrat perspective in 19070? 80? 90? 2010? Have conservative agendas made a radical shift? Have the Democrats? I hate to say liberal because I’m not even sure the current Democrats (leadership, necessarily voters) are anything approaching liberal. I think it is pure socialism if sometimes outright insanity. It seems like one side has gone off the deep end in utter stupidity it is not from the conservative side. Right now in Florida there is the bill that is making Democrats nationally go out of their minds. That is until they reach the fourth grade, you can’t discuss changing their sex from males or female on any of those types of conversations. The national Democrats are putting this up as a proof that the country is going down the wrong road because the Republicans want to keep sex change conversations out of the classroom until the children are about 10 years old. Horrible right wing agenda? How many of you remember as a first or second grader having a teacher discuss changing your sex? Is that a radical idea from conservatives to keep that out of the classroom until until…. Fourth grade? Horrible!!! Radical!!! Or perhaps the Democrats have really gone off the deep end of the pool? No, It is not some new radical kind of conservatism as opposed to agendas from the Democrats. It should be very clear to anyone that gets away from emotional issue of my team against your team, there’s something strange is going on with the national Democratic Party. If a Republican says yes, they will automatically say no, no matter the topic. I even think that behind closed doors or in the privacy of their homes or at least in their thoughts, some of the Democratic legislators are cringing but are not allowed publicly to be in opposition of Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and others who ARE radical. Look what happened when Senator Mancin came out publicly recently and opposed to changing over a hundreds of years rules in the Senate about the filibuster. They would have forced him out of the party but it would have given the Republicans a majority in the Senate. Does anyone really think that 100% of the national Democratic legislators, and in particular the women, think it is good to have men competing as women in women’s sports, in beauty pageants, etc.? I think that even possibly a majority are totally against that. So how come they don’t join the Republicans in a bipartisan bill to ban this insanity? It is simple, they can’t. Like all of the insanity currently happening, they can’t be seen as agreeing with the “other team”. There is radical and dividing politics going on right now and it’s not coming from the conservative side. For those that believe otherwise, let’s say that the Republicans take over Congress and the next election in 7 months (which is entirely possible). Please list the radical agendas that will come from the new conservative and Republican Congress.

  9. When a head coach goes 8-2 one year.. graduates 80% of the team but retains the exact same coaching staff.. then goes 2-8 the next year, is it the coach's fault? Because that actually happens all the time. If a coach goes 8-2 one year.. the team goes up in classification but retains the same coaching staff and most of the players.. then goes 2-8 the next year, is it the coach's fault? Because that also happens all the time. By the way.. if a coach has a team with limited talent but improves speed, strength, and work ethic of each player.. it still may have not been enough improvement to win more games.

Have you ever coached? No coach can win without talent. I have seen coaches win 10+ games one year and win 1 game the next. Do they become "bad coaches" in the span of 6 months? No, they had less talented players. I have seen coaches have multiple losing seasons and then have a special group where they win (example: Deweyville 2011-2012). Were they bad coaches before and miraculously learn how to coach all of a sudden? In the case of Tarkington, there are no good groups coming through the pipeline.

I don't know who you are but you are clueless if your basing their coaching abilities off of the records that for the most part you entered wrong by the way. (How does a coach play 84 games in 3 seasons???) Brandon Carpenter is currently the head football coach of Klein Oak Zach Bass is the current OC of BW Don't forget the aforementioned Coach Snelson who is currently one of the top coaches in the state. As I mentioned in my other post, many other factors at play. Considering that both of them came into programs that were in total disarray due to the previous regimes. So what this proves more than anything is, good coaches that help turn around the program end up leaving for greener pastures and unfortunately they haven't done a good job of hiring the next guy which ends up turning the program up on it's head again and for a school like Tarkington, that can mean dark years before the next light can be seen. That's why this next hire is so important for a school like them.

A quick search of 247's recruiting database will tell you that at least 50 players went D-1 while Westerberg was at Allen, but shows only one guy going D-1 while he was at BH. Real shame he forgot how to develop talent when he moved to Mont Belvieu.

  15. I was in Dickinson last week at the track meet and was informed by a PAM fan that they would be rebuilding this year and not to expect too much from them🤷🏾‍♂️ Later on in the conversation he tells me that moving into the district with PAM was the best thing that could’ve happened to Crosby because they would “really” get us ready for the playoffs versus the district we played in the last couple of years🧐 I know some people didn’t like Kenny Ray but this guy made a very good argument for why they should’ve kept him in relation to all sports results, not just football.

Well, it's good to have someone actually knowledgeable in Allen football. Tell us who these D-1 player are that played during the Westerburg years. I'm sure we would all like to know to help our knowledge. I'm made many comments concerning Westerburg at BH. I'll copy and past the latest: " I have answered many times about Westerburg at BH. But i'll be glad to do it again. There are no guarantees. It took him 5 years to win the Title and he left after the fifth year at BH. He had them going in the right direction. And I think, in time, that he would have had a Title. Of course this is my opinion and presumption. I understand he is the new HC at Salado." BTW, it took Westerburg 5 years to implement his program at Allen and win his 1st Title. Unfortunately we'll never know, but he may have needed a little longer at BH. As always -- just my opnion!

  19. "Kiddie Porn Ketabji" Brown Jackson confirmed to Supreme Court -- 3 RINO Senators vote with Democrats!! Confirmed 53-47. And the RINO's were: Mitt Romney (R-UT), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME). Murkowski looks like she will probably lose in the primary that I think is coming up. The other two need to go also. If these 3 could not figure that this was a clear "no" vote, then what's the point of having them as Republicans? [Hidden Content]

One of my concerns, and this isn't a jab at Trump, is that some of his biggest supporters and cheerleaders are some of the biggest goofballs on the right. So assuming he gets the republican nomination, he doesn't need Boebert and Greene and others that come off borderline looney trying to stump for him.

DeSantis appears to be a possibility, but it’s hard for me to imagine “better”. IMO Trump scored 100’s on his Report Card. Only way to improve Trump would be, just like Trump in action with a Reagan personality/delivery. Trump’s baggage, being a brash, loudmouth yankee who let his tongue/fingers (Twitter) run loose while his brain was in neutral. But even though I’m 99% sure I’ll never like Trump the man, I revere Trump the President.

I'm not opening up that can of worms with you, just stating an opinion (that i'm confident is a fact). Most people with common sense look at certain politicians and are concerned. There are several currently on the left that scare the crap out of me, and that holds true for many voters, which will play a big part in the major shift we're about to see. A lot of regular people are sick of the "woke" movement, and will vote accordingly. That said, if republicans interpret this as an opportunity to pass similarly polarizing legislation, it will backfire. Our country's history is full of scenarios where a party mistook people voting against the opposite party as support for their own ideas.

Yeah but that came from a person who couldn't be further from Tarkington. Your post reads as if the community or other posters on here from the area think that. Which is the source of your constant thoughtless bashing of the kids. I will repeat, NOBODY from the area made this claim. I can guarantee you that most of the kids that are currently enrolled in Tarkington don't have parents that went there. So rationale should tell you that people have come and gone. Why haven't more "athletic" kids moved in is the question then, right? Well, we can all agree that the high school sports teams aren't bringing them in. So the people that are moving in to the area are coming in for a number of reasons, my guess is led by the fact they want their kids to have a yard or maybe a few acres to go outside, breathe fresh air and maybe raise a farm animal or two. So like I said previously, very few people here are looking for a football dynasty. They just want to see their kids become respectable adults and maybe a couple wins from whatever sports team their kid is on. That's just the mentality of the majority and even for me who is a sports fanatic and been here most of my life, it drives me crazy that we aren't more competitive or that kids aren't willing to put extra time in to improve their chances of getting better on Friday night. But for the most part that frustration goes away on Saturday morning when I go to the store and see kids hold open the door for adults and say yes sir and no sir to me when I ask them questions. By no means am I saying those things can't go hand in hand but that's the trade off that most people here are willing to make.

The transcript is right there for you to read. The majority of this thread has been surrounding claims that that "Tarkington is just like Stephenville, Carthage, Liberty Hill, etc." and "the only difference between those schools is that Tarkington has not got the right coach". The overwhelming point is that "every coach that Tarkington has had was not a bad coach". There are more factors in play than coaching. In particular, Tarkington does not have similar talent to the schools mentioned.

Please send me the quote where anyone from or around the situation that said that Tarkington had the talent to win the state title in football? Won't be able to because nobody did. Just looking for a good man that can come in, get the kids excited about playing ALL sports because every ounce of talent is needed in all of them to be competitive. Then maybe that person can motivate them to use their spare time in the summer and such to put in the extra work. Try to grow some focus on preparing the younger kids for high school ball and for the ones that are already there, put in a system that gives them the best chance of winning some games. They have some athletic kids, just need to be pushed and taught the right way to go about their business. Nobody here is looking for state titles, we aren't mistaken, this isn't Argyle. We want to give our kids the ability to pursue sports in whatever capacity they want to, achieve as much as possible and then go out into the real world and be good people. You should maybe spend a little less time polishing your youth football trophy and a little more effort into learning how to have a real conversation.

I for one hope they run his tail off, give him the ball 30 plus times a game if needed. Not too many linebackers in this district are ready to tackle someone that big and strong 30 something times a game.... Give it to him until he runs himself in shape and then give it to him again....
