png just removed the most offensive thing in their history, Brandon Faircolth. He was too offensive minded3 points -
Was brought back here by a like on one of my post, and re-read yours. You mentioned the blank checks, which reminded me of another deal in the mid-50’s. We lived about a mile from one of two grocery stores. My Mom was a housewife, who never drove (never had a DL). We only had one car (1949 Plymouth) which Dad drove to work at the Bethlehem Ship yard. If we needed groceries during the week in the summertime, my Mom, Sister & I would walk that mile. Pick up what we had to have (that we could carry, lol) and the owner had an old receipt book. He’d write down the total we owed. On Friday evening, which was Dad’s payday, we’d all drive over and Dad paid the owner what we owed for the week. So yes, there was trust back then. You’ll play hades getting Walmart or Market Basket to let you do that today. Sounds like a corny line from a movie, but in those days, a handshake was a binding gesture.3 points

Back in the mid 2000’s Lamar made a push to up enrollment. They hit D/FW and Houston hard, built new dorms to get more kids on campus, but when the President at the time, I think Dr. Simmons left so did the vision. They built an Honors college and Administrative building like 6-7 years ago and that was the first academic building built in over 40 years. Like I said, Lamar has failed to plan or put anything in place to make it attractive to outside folks not interested in Engineering or Masters program for adult teachers. They have I believe the largest endowment in Southland Conference, but no vision. At this point they should just try to get as many local athletes that can make them competitive until they figure out a larger game plan.3 points

I have said it before, and I will say it again. We are the Port Neches Groves Indians!!! If through some lawful means PNG is required to drop this name, the we should be simply: Port Neches Groves High School!!! There cannot be a new Honorable, Proud or Traditional Mascot whose only history is forced change. Therefore, if we must change the Port Neches Groves Indians, then we are nothing, and should remain so. PNG HAS A SPECIAL SPIRIT...PASS IT ON!!!3 points -

Playing at the next level has nothing to do with kids being disrespectful. If I'm a college coach, scout at that game last then I WOULD NOT want a single player off of lumberton's team or would I take a call from their coach about a kid off his team.1 point -
Maybe Governor Grabott is a paid actor who is paid by the highest bidder of the Elites. Now that I can believe! Lol1 point

Bump in the polls for Abbot - Proving he sent "illegals" to DC. I'm 99% sure that's not it, but you never know in politics.1 point

Texas to Use Charter Buses to Drop Illegal Immigrants in Washington DC
5GallonBucket reacted to Unwoke for a topic
We’ll I didn’t think he had the onions to do it but one bus isn’t going to cut it. Drop off every single one of them off in DC. Flood DC with everyone of them that crosses the Texas border illegally till they make this situation right. Kuddos to Grabott but man up an send them all.1 point -

Sounds good to me but I'm not too sure I would give the American voters that much credit for making smart choices that are good for the country, especially the fickle moderates. Look what they did to us in 2020.1 point -
Texas to Use Charter Buses to Drop Illegal Immigrants in Washington DC
baddog reacted to LumRaiderFan for a topic
It is somewhat of a publicity stunt but I also think one of the reasons is to force the Biden administration's hand on this. If they balk on busing these folks to their doorstep, it will raise the question as to why this is ok in border states and not DC.1 point -

TUES. 4/12- LUMBERTON- 4 VIDOR- 1 FINAL
LumRaiderFan reacted to Ty Cobb for a topic
I wasn't at the game so I don't know what went on but I assure you Lumberton is not the only school in the area that does this. Not sure when it became acceptable but it's done very often and I hate it!!! It's even worse with it comes from the stands. At least the players have the balls to go out and compete. The cowards in the stands talk but can run and hide when things don't go their way. I have no problem if a team wants to be loud and support their own, but attacking the opposing team while using every line out of the "little league/select ball crap talking manual" is childish. Grow up, play the game the right way, and respect your opponents!!!1 point -

Lamar heading back to Southland Conference
Separation Scientist reacted to bullets13 for a topic
I'm not sure what they can do. The whole area surrounding lamar is impoverished and crime-ridden. Not only do college students have to travel all the way across town to find anything to do in the evenings, they have to travel nearly that far to get to where it's safe to walk to your car after dark. I commuted to lamar for a year, and never had any desire to spend any extra time up there. My buddies thought it would be a good idea to get a house together just off campus, until they were broken into twice in six months, once while they were inside sleeping. and this was nearly 20 years ago, and things have only gotten worse in that area. I taught less than two miles from lamar for the last ten years, and just can't really see anything at all that would appeal to students to choose to attend from out of the area.1 point -
Governor Grabott is nothing but a Blowhard. He isn’t going to do JACK! just like he’s been doing since Biden took office. He’s a wolve in sheeps clothing. But hey that headline sounds tough and cool. Typical politician. Let’s see the Governor escort the buses to DC then I’ll believe it.1 point

Now we're going to discuss the differences between debating and arguing? Unbelievable.. By the way, I can assure you that I'm not taking anything personal. I'm not the one using exclamation points in my posts.. as if your emotion will make your point stronger. It won't. You should be happy.. I've long since become bored with this debate/argument (whatever you wanna call it). You think that a coach is only elite because of championships. I don't. You think an elite coach (according to your definition) can win anywhere and with anyone. I don't. Signing out of this circus.1 point -
Man Arrested for Murder of 16-year-old Girl in Fannett
Separation Scientist reacted to Hagar for a topic
My personal experience doesn’t include slavery & the Indian wars. I know as a child in the 50’s we could play outside in safety, day & night. I know when my children were growing up in the 70’s & 80’s they weren’t allowed the same freedom I had, and imo it’s worse now. Prior to the 20th Century in our country, yes there was more violence and mayhem than we can imagine. And in the 20th Century globally, prior to the 50’s, we saw more inhumanity to man than most of prior history combined. Still during the 50’s we had a relatively peaceful decade. I was lucky enough to grow up in that period.1 point
