I’m surprised. I would’ve thought using racial slurs was over, but young folks are deluged with them in some music today. I’d also bet you could hear the same words being said at United and WB, but since it’s Vidor, WOW, big deal. Glad of the discipline. VISD was right in addressing this immediately. I will say that I haven’t heard a white kid using a racial slur in a long, long time, but there’s always a few knuckleheads. Only thing comparable is folks who want to blame all Vidor students for the actions of a few.

Anybody who thinks it's okay to use that word is a racist... no matter the color of their skin. If you're white and think that it's okay to insult a person because of their person because of their race... you're a racist. If you're black and believe that the color of your skin gives you the right to say that word while others should be punished for saying it.... you're a racist by definition, too. Those are facts, and they're indisputable. There's no need to argue "a" vs. "er," "there are black people and then there are n-words", " it's a term of endearment among black people," or any other stupid excuses for using slurs or epithets. Anybody that believes it's okay to say it is a racist piece of crap. Period.

No doubt they have heard that type of language in rap music, but I doubt that’s where they learned it. That’s not where you or I learned it along with millions of others.

That reminds me of a case of a drive by shooting I worked. My best friend of the Police Department actually rolled up as shots were being fired. He was actually about three blocks away and saw the smoke in the air and then saw the car speeding away. They were a various rounds fired but one of the weapons was a .45 pistol carrying ball ammo. One round went through the asbestos siding, the 1” 4” wooden wall underneath, the drywall/sheet rock after that, two layers of drywall going into the hall, two layers of drywall into a bedroom and came to rest in a wooden headboard. So the round end up going through the siding on the house, a 1”x4”, five sheets of drywall and embedded into a probably oak headboard on a bed.

Not everybody is reporting their teams HR’s like they used to. I know PNG has some but not sure who the kids are. I don’t know the kids of this group all that great and I sit in the outfield so I don’t have to listen to the people in the stands grip about things they have no clue about. Y’all are sleeping on Bottley as defensive MVP, he was the one who the Silsbee coaches trusted to defend the other teams best player. Blocked shots or rebounds, no but it is a very valuable thing to have a lock down defensive player who can take the other teams best player out of the game. I’d like to get a Silsbee fans opinion but they seemed to love the effort Bottley gave them every game over there.
