Roe versus Wade draft seems to overturn
thetragichippy and 2 others reacted to tvc184 for a topic
The left, socialist, progressive are demented. They have a mental illness that is often openly displayed. Unfortunately in this football game of politics, a majority of the normal people who vote for the Democrats are unaware of or choose to ignore how far the lunacy has become. They have chosen a team and will go down with the ship rather than go in a different direction. It is OK to fly a Dallas Cowboys pennant from your car as they suffer through another losing season. I admire someone who will stick with their team through thick and thin. That has any effect on no one else but you however. When that team is a political party and is dragging you personally, your country and everything around you into the toilet, it may be time to root for another team. And easy example is that we use about 1,000,000,000 gallons of diesel and gasoline every two days in this country. Biden immediately on taking office, shuts down millions of acres of oil expiration area with a stroke of a pen. Gee, what effect will that have? So gas prices shot up to near record highest. He’s solution? I will allow a few million barrels from our national strategic reserve (which was meant to be a storage for the US military in case of war). That will be the answer to have prices!!! That will show OPEC!!! And within a few weeks??????? We have all time record fuel prices which will result in all-time consumer product prices. BUT….. it’s my team!! I have to fly that pennant! What does all of that have to do with abortion? It is the sick mindset of people driving the current DNC. I think that an overwhelming majority of the people who vote Democrat are just like everyone else and basically want the same thing as everyone else. They have chosen a team however that is full steam ahead in the fog and heading toward an iceberg while saying, “this ship can’t sink!”.3 points -

I'm all for fairness and equal opportunity. Nobody should be held back or intentionally disadvantaged for arbitrary reasons like race or gender. That said, this movement to level the playing field by cutting the legs out from under overachievers to bring them back towards the middle of the pack instead of just making sure everyone has the same opportunities to start with is a movement destined for mediocrity.1 point -
2wedge covered it better than I could, but made the point I was going to make. Anytime you have a community that buys into a certain coach or program, or even sport in general, you can see extended success. Little boys in Hardin don't have much to look forward to for football, but little girls who are athletic can start working towards that volleyball goal at an early age, and softball in Liberty is even easier with a great club program locally. One can even look at a school like WOS to see how one sport might be elite while others are average or bad. It's pretty mind blowing that with the athletes WOS has they can hardly put a .500 record together in basketball most years, even though their football team is perpetually in the running for a state championship. Another example, and one I grew up in. HJ has a really good basketball team pretty much every year, but the football team is usually bad. I remember playing little dribblers out there and each age group would have 10 or more teams. The average school class over there was around 125 students, and each little dribblers age group covers two classes. So two classes is around 250 students, and approximately 125 boys. Each little dribblers team would have 8-9 players. So out of 125 possible kids, close to 90 would play. By the time we got to high school most of us had been playing together for nearly 10 years. Out there it was just expected that you would play basketball, and we did. We actually had a special group of athletes while I was there, and our football team was pretty good for 3-4 years, but basketball stayed strong and football faded back into mediocrity until the next special group came along about 15 years later.1 point

Yes it is, sad that some places shy away from awarding results for hard word…and I use the term slacker loosely, I was one myself in high school but it certainly didn’t upset me to see others awarded for their efforts. Pretty sure this bothers the adults much more than the kids.1 point -

One word in both situations, PROGRAM. Karen Slack has built quite the program at Liberty, and her success is aided by the Texas Dirt Diva's organization being right there in her back yard. Chandler has dome increcible things with that select softball program to develop players feeding into Slack's program. Randy and Regina Snell have done the same in Hardin with volleyball. It's expected to win and the girls coming up know that. In both situations, stability is present in leadership of the two programs........stability gives the ability to build. When you understand your job is safe even if you underachieve once in a while, you feel open to building there. When you think you are going to get run off the next time you are below .500, you're always looking for the off ramp.1 point

My wife and I walked into a bank to make a withdrawal. A man came in to rob the bank and lined everyone along the wall. He asked the man next to me If he saw him rob the bank and if he remembers what he looks like. The man said sure I do. You robbed the bank and are standing in front of me. The robber shot him dead. He then asked me the same thing. I told him no, I didn't see a thing, but my wife here said she saw it all and plans to tell the police everything.1 point

An old physician, Dr. Gordon Geezer, became very bored in retirement and decided to re-open a medical clinic. He put up a sign that said: "Dr. Geezer's Clinic. Get your treatment for $500--if not cured, get back $1000."Dr. Digger Young, who was positive that this old geezer didn't know beans about medicine, thought this would be a great opportunity to get $1000. So, he went to Dr. Geezer's clinic. Dr. Young: "Dr. Geezer, I have lost all taste in my mouth. Can you please help me?" Dr. Geezer: "Nurse, please bring the medicine from Box 22 and put three drops in Dr. Young's mouth." Dr. Young: "Aaagh! This is gasoline!" Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You've got your taste back. That will be $500."Dr. Young gets annoyed and goes back after a couple of days figuring to recover his money. Dr. Young: "I have lost my memory. I can't remember anything." Dr. Geezer: "Nurse, please bring the medicine from Box 22 and put three drops in the patient's mouth." Dr. Young: "Oh no you don't--that's gasoline." Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You've got your memory back. That will be $500." Dr. Young (after having lost $1000) leaves. After several more days, Dr, Young goes back. Dr. Young: "My eyesight has become weak--I can hardly see anything!" Dr. Geezer: "Well, I don't have any medicine for that so, here's your $1000 back." (giving him a $10 bill. Dr. Young: "But this only $10!" Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You got your vision back. That will be $500."Moral of the story---Just because you're young doesn't mean that you can outsmart an old geezer. And remember--Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to tick us off.1 point

A note to the Choice crowd. Don’t ever refer to the fetus as non-living. The only reason you do is to ease the guilt. 1,260,000 incest, rape, and a mother’s health per year? Who are you trying to BS with that?1 point

Old saying - Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door. In this case, build a better pos and whataya get? Another pos. Environmentalist should be more concerned about water for a thirsty planet full of people. The earth may be warming. It’s always warming or cooling - always has, always will, but if they ruin the water in the aquifers, rivers and oceans with the poison in these millions of batteries, they’d wished they were breathing smog. You can breathe some pretty bad air and live but you go without good water for a week, you’re a dead man. It’s okay to be concerned about the environment, but you durn sure need to have your priorities right.1 point

Congratulations to these young ladies on a great season. Kountze prior to this year had only ever played a play in game to make the the playoffs several years ago. They fell to New Waverly 6-4 in the Area round last week. This team is made up mostly of freshman and sophomore’s and will compete for a state championship IMO over the next couple years. Proud of how far my hometown program has come.1 point

This is an odd take, they laid an egg last year but calling them a paper tiger is a little much...they've proven they are a contender....I think the new district is going to help them immensely As for how a team looks in spring ball I think its really hard to tell just because you dont have a frame of reference against other teams.....biggest thing about spring is coming out healthy and maybe settling individual position battles1 point -
Thank you for the nice words. It has been an absolute honor to get to become apart of the Woodville community for the last 12 years and to get to coach some of the best kids in the state. My family and I are excited about a new oppurtunity, but saddened at the same time to leave a town that honestly has become home to us. I spent alot of time praying over this decision and asking for guidance and I feel that God has opened this door for us and he wishes us to walk through it and trust him. Woodville will always hold a special place in my heart. I am leaving the program in great hands though as my assisant of 12 years Michelle Merchant will take over to lead the ladies this fall. She has more than paid her dues and is ready step up and lead.1 point

WOSdrummer99 reacted to Hagar for a topic
Hat’s off to Cracker-Jacks. It’s a noble gesture but if organizations continue to let trans men participate as women it’s the end of women’s sports. Essentially the woke crowd is saying to women, “You belong barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen”. The irony of wokeness, lmbo. Some of you may ask, why Hagar are you such a misogynist? I’m not. Women are not the athletes men are. It’s a nature thing. They can’t compete with men. Never have! Never will! Don’t forget folks, our US National Women’s Soccer Team lost a match to a 15 year old boys all star team in Dallas. So let women compete against women, not some “would be male athlete who can’t compete with other men. It’s no accident Woke rhymes with Joke. [Hidden Content]1 point
