  2. Drove thru Uvalde yesterday afternoon. Very sombering seeing all the Memorials through out the town but very uplifting to see many church ministries and other people out supporting these families and this town. Continuing prayers.

  5. [Hidden Content] From the article: REP. JIM JORDAN: The big takeaway here was what we learned a few days back when we learned that Secretary Clinton told Sussmann to take false information to the press that was also then taken to the FBI. Step back and think about this - this is the former secretary of state, this is the former first lady, this is the former United States senator from the state of New York, and candidate for one of the major parties for president of the United States. And she's encouraging a false narrative to be taken to the press. And, of course, it was also taken to the FBI. I think that is huge. And so much so, that the former attorney general called it seditious. And again, you don't have to take my word for that. This is her campaign manager, Robby Mook,, under oath in a court of law, making that statement. So that's the big takeaway here.

  17. Saw this and it’s appropriate here. It’s the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It’s the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It’s the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It’s the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. Those are powerful words that tells volumes about those who have served and those now serving. God Bless our men and women in uniform.

  18. Nothing like being 18 and told “Write your will - many of you won’t be coming back.” By the grace of God many make it home - but this day is for those that didn’t. They knew the possibility was there. They knew the costs could be high. Many had already seen friends pass on - yet they pushed forward. May God hold them close and let us thank them and their families that gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. FREEDOM is worth the cost. May God bless you and your families today and hopefully you will take a quick moment to think of the sacrifices that were made for you. God bless America. I pray that despite everything we can somehow become United again as a country.

  20. Some folks have known but I will make it public. My time as a full time administrator/broadcaster is up. I told my wife of 33 years that when she retired from teaching that I would retire with her to the beach. She retired last May and I told her I would finish out the football and basketball seasons of this year then I would join her. (would have joined her in May but needed to stay on after the passing of our beloved admin WOSGrad). I am so ready to be a beach bum. I have enjoyed these past 17 years here on the site. I have seen it grow from just a little message board to now be considered a valuable media outlet. It truly has been a labor of love. First of all, I want to thank Jordan Wilson, the owner of this site, by inviting me on as a staff member and eventually an administrator. He trusted me with the help of running this site and allowed me to "do my thang" and start my broadcast career. It has truly been a blessing. Thanks I want to thank Todd Broussard (WOSGrad) who is looking down on us from heaven. He has been my partner in crime for all these years and is the reason this site is what it is today. He was the man!! I dearly miss my old friend and I hope that he is up there saying "job well done my friend". Thanks Todd for everything you did for me and this site. I want to thank all the staff members here. Particularly Lucas, Mack, Robert, Terry, Matthew and all of the other staff. You have helped make this the place to be as for Southeast Texas sports. Thanks for all the support over the years. Thanks to all the coaches that I have come to know and work with all these years. Thank you for your support and cooperation and your acceptance of me and SETXsports. I am truly grateful. Thanks to all the members here who really are what makes this site so great. I have become friends with several here and I cherish all the times we have spent on and off this site. God Bless all of you. I wish all and this site the very best. I will still be around some but it will be mostly from my chair on the beach with my toes in the sand holding a cold one. Thanks again to everyone and May God Bless.

  24. Lets not act like WB just didn't go to State a 3-4 years ago beating the likes of Austin Westlake & Katy Tompkins along the way...I think we sometimes take for granted the amount of talent in this area, because its local. I always think of those Craig Stump Brook teams and how much talent they had. I think you had 3 or 4 players play on Sundays off of one team. Most cities cant even say that in their whole existence . . Not to mention a big advantage Brook always has is going Small 6A, now I'm not saying they would Beat the likes of Atascocita or NS or make it to a state championship but to dismiss that because they're "Westbrook" is crazy to me

  26. So what’s up? I haven’t spouted any gems of wisdom lately. Tonight I’ll talk about religion, which for me is Christianity. I became an “official” Christian (baptized) at 30. My wife of 8 years at the time, had joined/baptized into the Catholic Church some 5 years earlier. She was raised in Church of Christ, but was not enamored with it, nor was I as I visited it with her. No reflection on it, just not for us. I believe in Catholicism, but not as the “one and only”. As a Priest once said in his Homily, “the important thing is to be a good Christian. If there’s a stumbling Block for you in Catholicism, try one of the Protestant denominations” (a great Homily that I wish other Priest & Protestant Preachers would embrace). Anyway, back to religion. It’s been a great support for me as I’ve traveled through life. What do atheist fall back on when confronted with life’s great obstacles? There’s nothing that I’m aware of, while I can fall back on my Lord and Savior. He (they’ve) been, and still are, a comfort to me. When put in perspective, God’s sacrifice of his Son is hard to believe. Again, as one Priest said, we’re little more than pissants to God, yet he put his son through suffering for our salvation. Why? Because as unworthy as we are, he loves us. I’m thankful for his love. For Jesus’ sacrifice. When I say the Lord’s Prayer, I impose my forgiveness of others. When we pray, we shouldn’t just say the words but mean what we’re praying. I hope I haven’t offended anyone with my post here. Not my intention. I only wanted to share my thoughts and why I’m happy to be a Christian. I hope some of you share my love, and get the comfort I get from it. God Bless all of you. I consider you friends in Christ.
