Ms. Griner, We hope this letter finds you in good health and we understand you are having some rough times in your life. We are a group of old Vietnam Combat veterans from North Carolina. Our average age is around seventy years old. We call ourselves The Bunker Boys. We spent a lot of time living in rat and snake infested holes in the ground known as Bunkers. When we were not in the bunkers, we were crawling through the jungle being shot at and shooting back at little people wearing black pajamas. We must be honest and tell you that the only thing we may have in common with you, is that we too, were drafted. We noticed you were drafted number one in the WNBA draft a few years ago. Since we all were drafted, we thought we might let you know what it was like when we were drafted. Unlike you, most of us had no college. The people of the United States drafted us. We consisted of all colors, religions and personal beliefs. We had no choice of which team we played for, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Marines. We were sent halfway around the world to fight and kill people we didn't know in a place we had never heard of. We were paid, we know you can relate to this, $3.00 a day and required to work 24 hours a day if needed. When we returned home, many or most of us were treated very badly by our fellow Americans. We were spit on, hit by bottles and rocks as the police stood by and watched. We did not complain, we just continued on in life and made the best of it. We fought for God, family, country and of course, the Flag and the National Anthem; a poem that was written by, of all people, a lawyer. He wrote the poem as he watched bombs fall on and kill fellow Americans. Ever since that night, our nation has played that little poem before millions of social functions. For some people it's just a little song. For a Veteran, it is a reminder of how many men and women of all colors, have given their life so the rest can have the right to be free. We found in our research that you requested the National Anthem not be played at sporting events. We find it odd that now you are requesting the citizens of the United States to pay for your release from a jail in Russia. Yes, we the taxpayers are paying for all of those diplomats working on your release. Our government told you, and all fellow Americans in Russia, to leave Russia after the invasion of the Ukraine. You play basketball in a country that is known to treat Americans badly. You fly a great deal and must know by now, all the rules of what one can bring into a country. All of us that travel know the rules for entering a foreign country. You are a guest and must go by the rules of the land. By your own admission, you were attempting to bring an illegal substance into a country that is known for its long prison sentences. You had to know this because you are making millions dollars a year to play a game and hold a college degree. At six feet nine inches tall, you know that security officers are going to focus on you from the moment you stand in the boarding pass line. We also noticed that you are now saying you placed the drugs in your luggage by accident. Please, that is something an 18-year-old would say. We also found out that your net worth is somewhere around $5 million bucks for playing a game. For old guys like us, living on a fixed income, that's a lot of money for just playing a game. Don't get us wrong; we are not against you. We all went and fought so all Americans can have the freedom to make their own choices. We just hope the next time you have to endure the playing of that little poem; you will pay close attention to the "Land of the free" part. And maybe, just maybe, the Russians will give her snake hair a badly needed haircut.

Well, now it seems like Trump took highly classified information about our nuclear weapons systems from the white house and refused to give them back. Yes it is sad. he got nominated because he wasnt part of the establishment and spoke his policies with conviction especially the America 1st platform and I would say America was better off whether or not you liked him as a person. You can get defensive and say something derogatory about Christians but the truth is the truth…. Try reading it without taking things out of context and when I mean “read it” I mean front to back. Start with the New Testament 1st. One way or the other the truth will be revealed…..some later than others Majority of people fail to simply do something so fundamental and it’s free…..read the BIBLE….alone, without anyone else interpreting.

I have several buddies with sons on the team and in the program so for their sake I want them to see their kids having a good time just like I do my sons. Backing into the playoffs in 4th place and winning one game isn't more than Westerberg did when he got BH to the third round at Reliant. Abseck went .500 with the most talented team BH has ever had. Now y'all will be back to normal this year and probably a KP loss away from 4th place. Your o-line is suspect, your defense is still bad, your star receiver is out, you don't have plus running backs and you'll be breaking in a new QB on top of that. I love that we have Coach P right now but I'm not the least bit worried that if he leaves Crosby's program will take a nose dive. It's been proven from the Flannigan led squad that lost to Dawson in the third round, to the Riordan led squad that lost to Cedar Park in the semis, to the Prieto led squad that lost in the state finals that if you give us a competent guy on the sideline that our kids will produce results. Just the opposite is true in BH though. Reagan talks about 7 years for a coach to win a state title. Well, the last 7 years BH has had three different state title winning coaches and only has one district championship, in a year everybody else was down, to show for it. It's been proven over the last 17 years that the only thing that can stop Crosby from getting into the dance is an inept school board and supt. My son turned 3 over the weekend and had his birthday party in south Dallas. My wife graduated from Dallas Skyline and all of her friends and relatives children attend school on that I-20 corridor from Oak Cliff to Duncanville. Her nephew is going to be the starting safety for Duncanville this year. When I tried to explain where Crosby was he cut me off and said, "Oh, we know about Crosby". This is after I ran into Carlos Lynn at Winners BBQ and tried to order two slabs of ribs from him while he was out to lunch with the Cedar Hill coaching staff. When I mentioned I was from Crosby he said, "Oh, y'all got something down there." So whether Prieto leaves or not, which I don't see with his son being in 8th grade, Crosby will be fine. The Constitutional line of succession is only for the presidency. If a VP is Constitutionally put into the Presidency, he or she can pick who they want as VP. If something happened to both the President and Vice President then the Speaker would become President.

Vidor has alot to work on they bullied a team that will not be very good. There is alot of kids playing both ways this year which worries me about the depth of the team. They have a chance to be a pretty good team but must stay healthy. With that being said there should be several sophomores get promoted to varsity which could help give key players a break

I think it’s great. I do think the immigration system and path to citizenship need to be revamped, but the fact that the government has refused to help Texas and expects us to handle it on our own is ridiculous, as is their response when Abbott passes on the problem, so to speak. How anyone can accuse Texas of being inhumane for trying to keep illegal immigrants from overwhelming our system, but then turn around and cry when a tiny fraction of those immigrants are sent to suck off their system is mind blowing to me.

Don’t confuse a majority Black campus by population with a historically Black school. For a history lesson, it goes back to a Supreme Court ruling 130 years ago in Plessy v. Ferguson. In that ruling the Supreme Court said that concept of “separate but equal” was not in itself discrimination and so state mandated segregation of the races was not unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment. (passed in 1868, right after the Civil War) So some states allowed or mandated separate schools for Blacks. Those separate schools were because Blacks weren’t allowed in other schools. That was the legality of the then historical Black schools. My mother graduated from Beaumont High School which was a (one of the) White campus in BISD and it later merged with Charlton-Pollard also of BISD, the historical Black school for that district. That created BCP. BCP then later combined with the other BISD high school, French, to form Central. (French was for a short time in FISD) So what was eventually Central high school was the combination of the two White high schools of BISD and the Black high school. So French ISD was taken into Beaumont ISD which was later taken into South Park ISD to form today’s BISD which started as 3 different districts. I believe that is the meaning of a historical Black school. It was a school created by forced segregation. That was overturned 62 years later by the Supreme Court case of Brown v. Board of Education, although I think it took the Civil Rights of 1964 to start enforcing it.
