Football season is upon us, and it’s the time of year where posters get all up in their feels and start breaking forum rules. I encourage everyone to read through them if they’re new to the site, or if maybe it’s been awhile and you need a refresher. To help you out, I’ll go over a few of the ones that usually get broken here for your reading pleasure, and even provide a few examples for you: No profanity. This includes using symbols. Obviously not all profanity is created equal, but for certain words, or for using them to describe someone else, you’ll catch a ban pretty quick. Keep it civil: no abusive or racial comments. acceptable: I disagree with that. unacceptable: you’re an idiot. acceptable: you’re wrong about that. unacceptable: You’re an idiot. acceptable: quit asking me the same thing over and over. unacceptable: I’ll answer you when your mom leaves. I think y’all get the point here. Stick to the topic. This can get a little fuzzy at times, and it’s okay to bring up someone’s comments on a previous thread, within reason. acceptable: when this team played last week you were saying something different. unacceptable: in the Benghazi thread on the political forum you made a point I disagree with. Acceptable: LCM is down 10. If they lose and we win this one, we’re tied for first in district! unacceptable: I just saw that Carthage is up 35 on Marshall. They’d destroy this team if they played. again, use common sense. and finally, and probably most importantly, no bashing of teams, coaches, individual players, or communities. acceptable: the quarterback is struggling with his accuracy today. Unacceptable: this quarterback is garbage. Bench him! acceptable: the secondary can’t cover their receivers. Unacceptable: man, their wide receivers are torching #3! acceptable: I don’t like coach Harris’ game-plan. Unacceptable: this coach is a moron! Fire him! acceptable: I think Johnson is a better option at running back. unacceptable: this team isn’t going to win until they quit handing the ball off to Williams. acceptable: Hamshire Fannett doesn’t have enough parking, and needs turf. Unacceptable: The HF stadium sucks. They should bulldoze it. acceptable: this is a tough matchup for Williams. unacceptable: Williams isn’t good enough to be on the field in this one. He’s single-handedly losing the game for us. acceptable: it seems like we have to problems with the fans every time we go to Caneyhead. Unacceptable: everyone who lives in Caneyhead is white trash. Use your common sense here once again. It’s understandable to get frustrated with teams, players, facilities, and communities. If you can’t find a way to respectfully make your point, just keep it to yourself. i appreciate your time here, gentlemen. Here’s to a great season of SETX football, and an enjoyable season of posting on the best sports site in Texas!

Ms. Griner, We hope this letter finds you in good health and we understand you are having some rough times in your life. We are a group of old Vietnam Combat veterans from North Carolina. Our average age is around seventy years old. We call ourselves The Bunker Boys. We spent a lot of time living in rat and snake infested holes in the ground known as Bunkers. When we were not in the bunkers, we were crawling through the jungle being shot at and shooting back at little people wearing black pajamas. We must be honest and tell you that the only thing we may have in common with you, is that we too, were drafted. We noticed you were drafted number one in the WNBA draft a few years ago. Since we all were drafted, we thought we might let you know what it was like when we were drafted. Unlike you, most of us had no college. The people of the United States drafted us. We consisted of all colors, religions and personal beliefs. We had no choice of which team we played for, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Marines. We were sent halfway around the world to fight and kill people we didn't know in a place we had never heard of. We were paid, we know you can relate to this, $3.00 a day and required to work 24 hours a day if needed. When we returned home, many or most of us were treated very badly by our fellow Americans. We were spit on, hit by bottles and rocks as the police stood by and watched. We did not complain, we just continued on in life and made the best of it. We fought for God, family, country and of course, the Flag and the National Anthem; a poem that was written by, of all people, a lawyer. He wrote the poem as he watched bombs fall on and kill fellow Americans. Ever since that night, our nation has played that little poem before millions of social functions. For some people it's just a little song. For a Veteran, it is a reminder of how many men and women of all colors, have given their life so the rest can have the right to be free. We found in our research that you requested the National Anthem not be played at sporting events. We find it odd that now you are requesting the citizens of the United States to pay for your release from a jail in Russia. Yes, we the taxpayers are paying for all of those diplomats working on your release. Our government told you, and all fellow Americans in Russia, to leave Russia after the invasion of the Ukraine. You play basketball in a country that is known to treat Americans badly. You fly a great deal and must know by now, all the rules of what one can bring into a country. All of us that travel know the rules for entering a foreign country. You are a guest and must go by the rules of the land. By your own admission, you were attempting to bring an illegal substance into a country that is known for its long prison sentences. You had to know this because you are making millions dollars a year to play a game and hold a college degree. At six feet nine inches tall, you know that security officers are going to focus on you from the moment you stand in the boarding pass line. We also noticed that you are now saying you placed the drugs in your luggage by accident. Please, that is something an 18-year-old would say. We also found out that your net worth is somewhere around $5 million bucks for playing a game. For old guys like us, living on a fixed income, that's a lot of money for just playing a game. Don't get us wrong; we are not against you. We all went and fought so all Americans can have the freedom to make their own choices. We just hope the next time you have to endure the playing of that little poem; you will pay close attention to the "Land of the free" part. And maybe, just maybe, the Russians will give her snake hair a badly needed haircut.

[Hidden Content] Latest polling indicates that The "Red Wave" predictions might have been a little premature. It appears that the Dems will likely retain control of the Senate but mention a much more murky path towards retaining the House. But the margin of victory IF the Republicans hold on is now predicted to be less than ten. So much for the complete return to congressional prominence by the Rs. It's everything from Herschel Walker falling on his face in Georgia to decreasing gas prices to a general public that is just sick of all things Trump. Week before last the Republicans were all rushing to defend Trump after the "political hitjob" by the DOJ and FBI at Trumps residence. These days the Republicans kinda look like those people who rushed to support Jussie Smollet after he was attacked in Chicago. The average American voter has had enough of the garbage. Trump needs to just go away, but here he is today calling for an uprising within the FBI. Yeah, that's just what the masses want... More headaches from the Don. And Republicans keep aligning themselves with this clown is the scary part.

Personally, I have never considered a 14 point win (regardless of score) a blowout. Too many factors involved. I attended a game where one team led 35-0 going into the 4th Q. It was total domination by said team. They played the 4th with all their backup players and the other team scored 3 TD's to finish the game at 35-21. One could say that was a blowout (I would agree with that statement) only because of how the game was played. I also saw a game where a team won 56-42. The losing team scored with 5 minutes left in game to cut the lead to 7 (49-42). Forced a 3 and out, got the ball back and drove down to the opponents 5 yard line with 25 seconds left on the clock. Next play was an interception that was returned 100 yards for TD. Game ended 56-42 but was far from being a blowout game. Both teams moved down the field against one another. In fact, the losing team actually had more offensive yards than the winning team. Kicking game and turnovers were the difference. Just saying that 14 point wins, no matter if it's high scoring or not, is still too close to be considered a blowout in my opinion.

I think @Matthew328 can explain it better than I can. I know they returned several studs off last year's team.

Longview improved a ton towards the end of last year, they brought back a ton, they have a loaded junior class coming up from a JV that went 10-0 with several soph's playing on varsity a year...they looked really strong last week

I’ll never, ever, understand them. They have to know there’s no better. How many you see leaving to live somewhere else? All they need to do is acknowledge the sacrifices made by so many for their freedom. How? How about simply standing for that little poem, out of respect? I was just looking at this yesterday. All time is 14-11 in favor of Bridge City. The Bobcats have been doing a good job of closing that gap lately.

Good and you? My feelings got hurt Friday night, PAMs defense caused 6 turnovers. We got peter-rolled lol. Not the sloppy game I wanted but hey we got a lot of work to do lol

She has 15 rostered now that she moved up 2 freshman. Only plays 9 just not in the right positions. She did finally unleash Kate at outside instead of middle so that helped a lot.

I wouldn't read too much into what Spring Legacy was last year. They have 3 D1 players on this years squad. I promise you Splendora doesn't wanna see them this year. That being said Silsbee is better for sure and is a tall order to say the least.

If we can’t beat Buna we need to just forfeit the season.

Very unusual picture of the stadium on the Texas Bob website. Shows the side without bleachers. Lived in the apartment complex behind the bleachers that you will see in the picture while in graduate school. Never saw the bleachers full. Just mingle with the locals in the bleachers available. Odd for Texas high school footbal, but not an unheard of situation.

Only thing I'll disagree with is the score and the comment about the WOS line size. The O Line is big, especially at the tackle spot. The lineman on Washington's side is massive and a 3 year starter (Heard). It'll be a battle in the trenches.

I still can't figure why our returning kicker is wearing bright green shoes on the sideline. LB #8 Jalen Gilmore has been doing all the kicking. Could it be playing possum? Like we don't have a good kicker til all of a sudden he nails 40+ in a tight game. Plus it's also good for the backup to get some game time reps. I can remember seeing kickers on crutches. @kicker 2.0 where you been?

I tell you what ask your mom if it would be ok if you go to the game Friday night and we can watch it together, and about another coach aspiring to be the vidor program what is that 500 winning percentage and a round 1 exit every other decent school in the area that gets you let go, but not in vidor we are losers so any little success is treated like a super bowl win. I like the coach think he is a great guy, and motivator but x's and o's not so much. Why cant people that just call it like they see it be right sometimes

I would like to commend the entire WO-S football team for initiating a prayer with the Nederland team for the injured bulldog. That was a beautiful site to see. Great job young men!

I am from vidor and a vidor fan but it really makes me laugh at how one sided vidor fans are just call it like it is vidor was lucky to be in that game CH played awful, just call it like it is, Vidor fans are the only fans in golden triangle that settle with being mediocre yr end and yr out.
