Week before last the Republicans were all rushing to defend Trump after the "political hitjob" by the DOJ and FBI at Trumps residence. These days the Republicans kinda look like those people who rushed to support Jussie Smollet after he was attacked in Chicago. The average American voter has had enough of the garbage. Trump needs to just go away, but here he is today calling for an uprising within the FBI. Yeah, that's just what the masses want... More headaches from the Don. And Republicans keep aligning themselves with this clown is the scary part.

Anyone implying Dems are going to win in November is on drugs. ~The reality is this: Rs will win across the board, the only question is by how much. Anything over 20-30 House seats is a tsunami. ~The earthquake comes down the ballot, as it's extremely likely Rs flip hundreds of state legislative seats (and thereby take control of several state chambers). ~Now, will Rs win every competitive race? NO! ~The Senate is especially tough because there are not a lot of opportunities and Pennsylvania and Arizona are among the most difficult states to project. Nevada and Georgia look good, and New Hampshire may surprise.

I get the impression that some think the spread is the answer to everything. Most teams run the spread and guess what? There’s still winners & losers. So last year Vidor & the Slot T won 8 games. Most, if not all 8 of those teams Vidor beat ran the spread. If you like the spread because you think it’s exciting, that’s one thing. If you think Vidor goes to the spread and voila, the Pirates are the equivalent of North Shore, that just isn’t the case. I too question the play calling, but last Friday here’s what I didn’t see - When the Pirates ran a play I rarely saw a Tiger on the ground. In years past, the blocking would have several defenders down virtually every play. I saw way to many missed tackles & broke tackles. Not so last year. In my humble opinion, it doesn’t matter if your running the Slot T, the Spread, the “I”, or the Wishbone, if you aren’t blocking and tackling you aren’t going to win football games. So here’s my humble opinion. What we saw last Friday had little to do with what type offense, and more to do with mental preparedness and execution. I certainly hope to see a whole new Pirate team this coming Friday. I think we have the talent, but somehow, someway, Coach Matthews has to instill the “want to” to win.

Here’s the problem… with all of those true things about the democrats that you just stated, the Republicans are still on the verge of losing again. How do they end up losing when the deck is rightfully stacked against the Ds this cycle? By continuously aligning themselves with the most hated politician I can remember. Only thing I'll disagree with is the score and the comment about the WOS line size. The O Line is big, especially at the tackle spot. The lineman on Washington's side is massive and a 3 year starter (Heard). It'll be a battle in the trenches.

@spidersal You do realize Nederland has been 3-0 numerous times going into district and not make the playoffs, we also been 1-2 and won district. Imo this is a gauntlet of a non district to prepare us for district when it matters the most… do not freak out yet, let’s get a weeks in some actual district games in before start deciding everything. WOS is in the conversation to win state this year just like every year, PA won their district last year they look extremely tough this year and very well could challenge for a regional championship this year, Silsbee will be tough and could very easily meet WOS deep in the playoffs. Nederland beat WOS and Silsbee last year we didn’t make the playoffs. We could lose both those games this year and make the playoffs.. overall wait it out, let the sophomores get used to varsity speed of the game, get adjusted and play. Nothing will get them better ready than this non district schedule. If we get better than what we did last week that’s win.

I guarantee you if BU loses a close game to Png similar to last week against Brazoswood: Soulja is going to predict a win versus Alvin saying BU is "turning the corner".

No one knows the answer to that question that doesn't have a medical degree. If we are missing significant numbers of starters then PAM will be a favorite for sure. Hopefully we heal up just in time and get to have another awesome game like last year with PAM. Of all teams, Crosby won't be licking their wounds after this one the staff is simply too good and the kids are too bought in for them to let this King loss linger. They may have played one of the best teams in the state in a classification above them, no shame in that loss. Crosby has struggled with consistency early in the year last two years and by about week 4 put it all together for a long run through the playoffs. Totally different set of challenges this year and I think I speak for all cougars when I say we look forward to the journey.

I would have to say they're the most notorious on the forum.. any classification. Definitely not because of the actual football team. Certainly because some fans (not all) have no idea when to stop bragging about details that aren't worth bragging about to begin with. For example: Beating Kountze.. It's yet to be determined whether or not that was a win worth the hype it's getting. Yes, they went 7-4 LAST YEAR and made a playoff spot in a bigger classification. HD didn't play them last year. What if they go 0-10 or 1-9 this year? Still a brag worthy win? Not in my opinion. Just say good game and that you're happy/proud of the team. We don't need the extra bullcrap about how big of a school they are and your overall record against them or anyone else. Jeez. That's why people are still cracking "4 horsemen" jokes several years after that statement was made. It's almost not fun anymore..... Almost.

Got some tough draws in 2nd\3rd rd. those years. All 3 playoff losses were to very strong teams, that had more talent, size & depth. The Manvel('17 Lost in state title game) & Marshall('18) games Ned hung the 1st half, but the 2nd half those teams just beat us down because they were better. No matter who the coaching staff was, Ned was not advancing. But I'm positive all 3 of those years the experts had Nederland forecasted to be average, not be in the mix for district titles & win as many games as they did, so the coaching staff\players amazingly over-achieved great success from what most expected.

The only thing I can think is when you only have 25 total players in the program, you need to get the young kids all the playing time you can get. There's no way they'll be able to sustain a JV team for more than a few more weeks. They'll inevitably lose a couple of players to injury and a couple to grades, and there won't be any option. All remaining 18-20 players will be on varsity.

Enrollment usually means a lot. Keep in mind that many schools in SeTx have much fewer kids in athletics than schools with much smaller high school enrollments in other parts of the state. Which is why I don't put a lot of stock in it sometimes. It's about comparable levels of talent per the number of kids PLAYING.

If there’s something I’ve learned the past couple of seasons is Diboll will have a couple head scratcher losses early on but then fix or work on the glaring weaknesses. They try to build on every week and try to peak when it counts, district and beyond. Now to be real they had a rough game vs Madisonville. Looked like they’re missing a couple key starters one bring their starting QB.

Huffman managed a 1 point victory over a Legacy School for the physically impaired so if this is not an easy victory for the Tigers I’ll be surprised (again). Legacy was soundly defeated by Splendora last year and they were terrible. The score might be close to the Vidor debacle. Depending on when the Tiger Coaches call off the dogs, I’d think minimum 21 points, and maximum whatever Silsbee wants it to be. Year of the Tiger!

Having worked in BISD when all of the theft, fraud, and malfeasance went on, I still get angry when I hear about these stories. I’m not sure if I’m more angry about the crimes that took place, or about the way that many of the criminals were given a free pass by (parts of) the community. The crimes were incredibly well-documented and poorly concealed. The people who exposed the corruption were drug through the mud, and multiple members of the school board who allowed it to happen were re-elected after the state mandated takeover was complete. I’m so glad to be out of there.
