Maybe it's not a WOS coaching issue, maybe LCM is just damn good too. 🤷🏾♂️7 points -

So useless to post prediction threads for next week when games still have to be played this week. This thread will be on the 3rd page of the forum by Saturday. BTW @lcm93 if this area sucks at football, why are you constantly posting threads on this website that covers this "sucky area" football? One would think you wouldn't waste your precious time here.4 points -

Just got back to my hotel, great atmosphere and great game...its still very early but that was IMO two really good teams going at it...WOS people have high standards, I get it and they aren't used to LCM going toe to toe very often, but Peevey has that thing rolling....the game was close because LCM is pretty dang good...kudos to both teams, that was fun4 points -

Bro, I watched this same FBM staff run BH out of the stadium in the 1st qtr last year only to let BH score 42 I think unanswered points when all they had to do was keep running the ball. The coaching staff takes huge mismatches and neutralizes them. One of the first plays of the game FBM broke through the line and it looked like that kid was in fast motion mode and BH was in quick sand. It should have a been a long night but they let BH play to their strengths and FBM totally did not play to theirs. That is coaching period. I disagree that Crosby won because they were the better team. FBM blew a td early, blew that TD late, should have atleast had a FG and won in regulation. None of that had to do with anything Crosby did. #1 dropped way too many passes. FBM is ranked high everyyear because they have superior athletes and usually play a crappy schedule. They are getting exposed a bit this year when they play games where actual coaching and strategy come into play. Crosby kept it close enough to win so credit to them but to act like FBM didnt contribute to that in a big way is mind boggling. Go ahead and change your logo to a cougar there falcon, you have to be a crosby sock. Larkin is that you?3 points -

I don't know if I've ever seen a thread where a person was so distraught about their team WINNING against a top-10 program 🙄3 points -
TEXAS SPORTS NATION//FOOTBALL Crosby and Fort Bend Marshall lived up to the hype of their high-profile matchup Thursday night as the Cougars prevailed with a 27-21 overtime victory at home. Running back Levi Ray Fontenot scored the go-ahead touchdown for Crosby in the extra period, and Nathan Holder secured an interception on the ensuing possession to seal it. The Cougars (1-1) also defeated Marshall (1-1) last season, 37-28. This year’s Buffalos entered the week at No. 4 in the Class 5A Division II state rankings. Crosby opened the first-quarter scoring with a touchdown pass from Cyrin Myles to David Ards. Marshall answered when Jarrod Howard reached paydirt on the ground. Myles scored on a touchdown run of his own in the second quarter to give the Cougars a 14-7 lead. They would take that score into halftime. The Buffalos scored 14 unanswered points in the third quarter. Jordon Davis connected with Andre Feast on a score, and Jonathan Haynes scored on the ground. Crosby fought back and knotted the score at 21 early in the fourth quarter as Myles connected with Kade Eudy. That would be the final score before overtime. Crosby begins District 8-5A Division I action next Friday against Baytown Lee. Marshall, meanwhile, has its final nondistrict tuneup against Alief Taylor on the road. Looking at Hudl, Brazoswood looks like a team with a good coach that knows their assignments and is serious about executing and playing good football. Sterling looks like the same Sterling we have been seeing for a few years. Disinterested, confused and poor execution.2 points -

Sterling Team Tennis will win this district easily. Regional finalists the past two seasons. Coach Tremmel runs a first class program. Volleyball will compete as well. Brazoswood was solid. Sometimes these kids need a dose of reality. Last night was a double dose. They will compete in this district. Might even surprise a few people. The 9th graders are the ones to watch. He will keep them together as long as he can.2 points -

conversely Crosby defenders weren't set because they heard whistles... it happened, and i'm sure FBM is very upset they called the timeout but they did and it was their strategy. Miss Snaps on high pressure field goals seem more likely than not in HS football how rarely we see a well executed last second field goal is crazy. it's the nature of HS football, if those were college or pro-teams then sure that's a near certainty. It's not in HS and kids fold under pressure. Crosby doesn't.2 points -

Thank you as well. One oddity about the HF HS campus is that it sits on the far west side of the district. It really is very close to the EC campus. You likely know this, but when the Hamshire Bulldogs and Fannett Falcons consolidated the Hamshire campus was superior at that time thus the HS is in that far west area. There are parts of the EC district less than 3 miles from HF's HS. Academics at HF vs. EC is debatable. Based on demographics (EC student has considerably more low SES and at risk students) HF should outscore EC in any academic comparison and that simply is not the case. In terms of UIL academic competition both have performed very well for years (not a great academic comparison, but worth noting). It surprises many people that really examine the 2 communities when the see how vastly different they actually are in income and other demographics. Now, I understand the classification argument, but recent sucees and lack thereof may have played a role. However, if you can play, the FCS, D2, and D3 schools will find you. Sadly, without naming names, I know 2 young man that found their way to EC that were enrolled at HF. The 2 i know, did it young and it was definitely for athletics, but legal (no recruiting involved, just kids and parents wanting what at that time was a superior athletic program). This is more an indictment of HF and past administration and a former coach losing respect from an vast majority of the ciaching staff and players in a first day speech than a praise of EC. Thanks for the conversation, Sep.1 point -
