What will be hurting BH the rest of the season, poll wise, is the strength of their district as a whole. No matter what BH does now, they can only go down in that poll. If they don't post dominant wins with each match then it will be viewed as a negative. Manvel and Friendswood have each other in their district, so I see at least one of them appearing in that poll just because they are playing better teams. Same can be said for the Foster/Fulshear district.2 points -

It's the DC not the HC. But the HC made the hire, so it's on him too. Violent outbursts from coaches towards player cannot be acceptable in any school. Someone should start a petition to have this coach removed from his position immediately. Sound familiar???2 points -

Steven Avery and one other reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
Y'all have had three state championship coaches to FB Marshall's 0 the last 15 years. If it was all about athletes Katy would never win state titles. Yet, y'all are still willing to pay the premium for first round losses. You want to talk about bad coaching, y'all almost lost to Dayton last year. I don't have to say anything about him. Everybody watching him stand on the sideline says all it needs to. I bet Abseck will play him against Crosby though. If you need verification for what I'm saying that Steven Avery guy probably knows who his mom is, tell him to go ask her.2 points -

Dirty_but_Dazzling, my post was not bad, unacceptable or vulgar for you to threaten me in canceling my membership/registration. Just because you are on the staff, which is pretty neat, does not give you the right to threaten me over a statement in which is not vulgar or threatening to anyone. I am active and civil on here, and I had no intentions to get you so riled up. Furthermore, my statement was not a "erroneous lie" as I could very easily provide proof from more than one instance, and I never stated that it was posted on SETXSPORTS. Not that I need to explain myself, but it was all over Facebook. Best to luck to Jasper.2 points -

BH’s idea of spreading cat litter around the visitors bench paid off with easy clean up after the Eagles took flight on the Coogs Friday Night! Afterwards Security was forced to remove a fan after found in the parking lot bench pressing 400 lbs and talking to imaginary people that he was quoted as saying “ They are my Friends and make 800K a year”.. poor guy2 points

And those members for the most part continued to type those updates. You want to spend three or four hours on here on friday nights updating and monitoring these simple posts that work pretty well? Or how about you go to the game you're interested in and update the score live for us? Because there are several folks who spend a good part of their friday evenings monitoring content, updating scores, changing titles to reflect finals, changing the big scoreboard, etc. etc. so that folks like yourself can log in, look at the one score you want to know about, make two posts criticizing the site, and then log out for a couple of days before you come back and do it again. This new system will take a little time to work out, but once it's up and running it will greatly reduce the manual work needed on the site, the vast majority of which is unpaid and done by folks volunteering their time to keep the site up and running.2 points

V-BALL TOP 10 POWER RANKINGS-HOUSTON CHRONICLE SPORTS
SetHaGoEagles! reacted to KF89 for a topic
Below are the Chronicle’s weekly Houston high school volleyball power rankings. Rankings are based on overall and recent performances, quality wins, strength of schedule and team accomplishments. 1. Tompkins | Previous rank: 1 The Falcons (23-3) improved to 4-0 in District 19-6A action with a dominant 25-12, 25-18, 25-11 sweep against Katy Taylor last Tuesday. Tompkins will continue its league slate this week against Morton Ranch and Mayde Creek. The Falcons are 15-1 all-time against Morton Ranch and 16-0 against Mayde Creek. 2. Cypress Ranch | Previous: 2 Cypress Ranch (28-2) has won 12 consecutive matches and is ranked No. 11 in the nation by USA Today and the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The Mustangs began District 16-6A action with a 25-15, 25-12, 25-15 sweep against Cypress Woods on Friday. They continue this week against Cypress Springs and Cypress Park. 3. Bridgeland | Previous: 3 Bridgeland (26-6) kicked off its District 16-6A schedule Friday with a hard-fought 25-21, 25-17, 25-22 victory over a solid Langham Creek team at home. The Bears have only suffered losses against elite competition, including twice against Cypress Ranch. The team has a match against Cypress Falls on Friday before meeting the Mustangs again next week. 4. The Woodlands | Previous: 4 The Woodlands (25-8) extended their current winning streak to four matches after picking up a pair of District 13-6A victories last week. The Highlanders pulled out an impressive five-set road win over Grand Oaks to grab sole possession of first place. They easily coasted past Cleveland on Friday to improve to 5-0. Rival College Park is up next on Tuesday. 5. Conroe | Previous: 5 Conroe (34-1) bounced back nicely after suffering its first loss of the season against The Woodlands. The Tigers improved to 4-1 in District 13-6A action with sweeps against Oak Ridge and New Caney last week. Conroe has a nondistrict match against Huntsville on Tuesday before continuing its league slate with a big test against Grand Oaks on Friday at home. 6. Ridge Point | Previous: 6 Ridge Point (26-6) continued a dominant start to its District 20-6A title defense with four-set victories over George Ranch and Elkins last week. The Panthers are now 5-0 in league matches and have only dropped two sets. They will continue their journey against Clements and Fort Bend Austin this week, teams they have a combined 25-7 record against all-time. 7. Clear Springs | Previous: 7 Clear Springs (25-7) kicked off District 24-6A action with a 25-16, 25-21, 25-10 sweep against Dickinson at home Friday. The Chargers continue their league schedule with matches against Clear Falls and Brazoswood this week. Clear Springs is 4-0 in true road games this season and will try to make it 5-0 on Tuesday against the Knights. 8. Barbers Hill | Previous: 8 Barbers Hill (26-5) began District 17-5A play with a 25-18, 26-24, 25-10 road victory against Crosby on Friday, the team’s fourth consecutive win after dropping three straight in late August. The Eagles are now 23-5 against Crosby dating back to 2007. They will host Baytown Lee on Tuesday before traveling to face Port Arthur Memorial on Friday. 9. Grand Oaks | Previous: 9 As previously mentioned, Grand Oaks (24-9) lost a hard-fought match against The Woodlands last week. Despite coming up short, the Grizzlies proved once again they belong in the conversation with the Houston area’s best teams. Grand Oaks turned around and swept Oak Ridge on Friday to move to 4-1 in league play. They have New Caney and Conroe this week. 10. Columbus | Previous: NR It’s hard to ignore what Columbus (27-3) has accomplished so far this season. The Cardinals are a 3A team, but they have also scored victories against 5A and 6A opponents this season. The team is riding a 10-match winning streak and was dominant against Rice Consolidated in its district opener. Columbus gets Hallettsville and Edna this week. Honorable mentions: Deer Park, Dawson, Cinco Ranch, Stratford, Friendswood, Pearland, College Park, Langham Creek, Seven Lakes, Manvel, Klein Collins, Bellville, Cypress Creek.1 point -

This^^^ is what we thought too. When I saw the preview saying "Multiple Fronts", I figured it would be the same D with with different looks to confuse the opponent. Not our own players. So for those who have said its the players... WRONG. These same players excelled in the system for years. Anyone who learned from the former coaches still knows how to play the game. The truth will be when the 9th grade is the upperclassmen.1 point -
I believe the Wildcats do have great potential to be a competitive team. They play with heart but they have to develop follow through tactics. What's hurting them now is wide receivers and defensive (not wrapping up on tackles). Lastly, they need to mix up plays on offense side of the ball to keep the opponent guessing. That's why they lost the last two games in a close ones.1 point

Only 5a team ranked, but there are still some great teams in Region 3. Manvel and Friendswood will be right there fighting to go to the state tournament. But do not sleep on Foster and Fulshear. Also you have the Lake Creek's and College Station schools to deal with! Region 3 is loaded with talent. BH will have to go through some really strong programs and have to play their best game every night to try an be the first BH team to reach the state tournament at the 5a level in school history. Last time they went was in 2004 when they were a 3a.1 point -

Imagine fixing your mouth to say that when BH has all the benefits and still can't win. Dude is dealing with things like players on his team being killed during the season, kids "acting a fool" is just something he's got to deal with more than other coaches. You're talking about no discipline but in the recent games we've played BH has far more personal fouls than FBM. Either way, I'd rather my son play for a guy who wants to help him vs a guy who tells a recruiter to pull a scholarship offer from a kid "because he isn't going anywhere" and give it to Herndon.1 point -
I could agree with this if it were the offense being "tinkered" with. The defense didn't need his "stamp". Its been good for 45 years. Besides, I'm not sure what his "stamp" would be. He's never been a HC. He previously was at WOS so I'm not sure how proven his system is or how in the world it would be different from the one he was coaching under before he got that job.1 point

Did Kincaid throw the ball around much when yall played them last year? For whatever reason going into our game vs Kincaid I thought they ran somewhat of a spread. I think they threw like 4 passes that night when we played. They have a healthy(big) O line. Bell the Notre Dame commit is a good athlete without a doubt and plays multiple positions. In college he gonna play CB and I saw why. Then late in the game he was injured(to what extent I don't know). I forget the kids name but #22 at RB is needs containment the most. He has a good set of wheels. The Bears continue playing good football like they have been doing then I don't see them having any issues keeping them from winning1 point -

Lol at West Orange Stark not being in the top 10 because of losing to PNG who has moved up into the 5A D2 too 10 for beating WOS. Let’s be realistic and honest… PNG probably isn’t a top 10 team in 5A and WOS at the end of the day still a top 10 team. You didn’t see Pleasant Grove dropping out of the top 10 after losing a game earlier in the year.1 point -

Yeah, go tell James Williams the reason Crosby keeps beating him is because we're lucky. Last time they're coming off a 49-0 win over Nederland and this time they go hammer Alief Taylor 47-0 the week after. Meanwhile BH gets destroyed by Mag. West in the opener doesn't even get in the endzone until they pull their starters in the 4th quarter and their fans have the nerve to critique us with the same record vs a weaker schedule. All those leaks at Enterprise have really effected their thinking.1 point -

Will be an interesting matchup. Talk about a meltdown…. If this new 4-2-5 defense can’t stop the Newton running game, it will get loud in WO. I’m still going with WOS, Newton is young, and WOS should have the horses to win, despite lack of coaching. Curious to see if the new DC can make adjustments and Coach these kids up. You know Newton will throw tons of formations at WOS to see if they can get lined up. This is a game where the 50 defense and CT will be missed the most.1 point

The good: -I think Sunday and Roman are a good connection, need to find a reliable WR2. This will take the defensive focus off of Thomas some. Get the TE involved. - D line and linebackers played well. - less turnovers than last week. -This week is a buy week to get stuff ironed out. -Oline played pretty well. The Bad: - The DBs still seem lost in coverages too much , yes a product of youth and inexperience. Needs to be a focus this week. -QB consistency needs to continue to improve, which it did during the 4th. Need to pick a starting QB and stick with him now that district is starting and give him the 1st string reps in practice. The Ugly: - Way too many penalties, including a couple that brought back big plays or helped Silsbee’s offense. - Bad tackling habits in the secondary. Not swarming the ball.1 point

A couple of generations ago we were told that corporal punishment was not the answer. Over 5,000 years of human history of raising children was all wrong. What they need is being put in timeout, on campus suspension, have their cell phones taken away for 30 minutes, etc. That way they will not learn violence and will not use violence against other people. They will only learn to be pacifist. It has worked out so well……1 point
