  1. 4ad1 champ Stephenville vs 4ad2 champ China Spring in a district match up. 3ad1 champ Lorena vs 3ad2 champ Franklin in a district match up as well. Also let's throw in Shiner vs Refugio in a 2ad1 district meeting that pulled in over 10,000 last meeting. Not in the area I know but they are big games this week in texas.

  2. Everyone talks about Silsbee WR Drelon Miller and the great season he is having and rightfully so. He is a phenomenal athlete and having a super season so far. Thru 7 games (with several of those being very limited in 2nd half) he has 20 rushes for 288 yards (14.4 per carry) 3 TD's and 30 receptions for 873 yards (29.1 per catch) 12 TD's. He also has a kickoff return for a TD. All purpose yards of 1305, 16 TD's. Like I said, he is the buzz talk. I love me some Drelon Miller!! But I want to point out a couple of other Tiger players who are having great seasons. QB Mason Brisbane is having one of the best seasons a Silsbee QB has ever had. He is 86-132 (65%) for 1637 yards (234 per game) 20 TD's with just 2 INT's. QB rating of 140.7. This is as good as I have seen a Silsbee QB have in quite some time. The 65% completion rate is astronomical when it comes to Silsbee QB's. Usually it's somewhere around 48-54%. His decision making has been super this season. One thing that really does go unnoticed is how well he performs the play action. Mason really "sells" it. This senior QB is one of the big reasons as to why Silsbee is having a great year offensively. The other player is senior LB Jayron Williams. He was a Willie Ray Smith finalists last year and with the season he is having so far, I wouldn't be surprised to see him win it this year. Williams has 95 tackles (80 solo) with 18 tackles for loss. He also has 5 sacks and 1 INT and 1 FG blocked. He is the bell cow on the defensive side of the ball like Miller is on the offensive side. Jayron also contributes on the offensive side as well. He has a total of 8 TD's (6 rushing, 2 receiving). He's the go to dude on goal line and short yardage situations. There are other Tiger players having very good seasons but I just wanted to give these two young men a shout out. Great season so far Mason and Jayron. Keep up the great work.

  3. Big 94A DII matchup this week between perennial powerhouses Bridge City and Hardin-Jefferson... One of these teams will take home its only win in District this year and the other will go on to finish the year winless in district play. I'm gonna take BC in this one for obvious reasons... plus it'll be held at historic Larry B Ward Stadium in scenic Bridge City, Texas. What do y'all think?

Still running I guess. How embarrassing. Everything the Dem Party does is wrong. The folks supporting them are wrong. Why they try is beyond me. Be better off crawling back under a rock and not reveal their stupidity. As the old saying goes, “better to be quiet and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt”.

  7. Big deal... .Trump paid for eight abortions himself, and Trumpkins still think GAWD HIMSELF sent Trump here (just like He sent Jesus) to save us from those evil Democrats. Remember..... you don't have to against abortion as a Republican-You just need the morons (ie, most posters here) to believe you're against abortion and they'll do the rest.

You are showing your lack of knowledge here. Newton has already beat Jasper and WO-S this year. It's obvious you are just being a troll to the Newton folks.

    Newton vs Kountze

You're acting foolish now. Hypothetically, Newton would at least get 3rd in that district because Newton has already beaten WOS and Jasper. However, Newton would most likely get 2nd that district this year.

  10. It was a protest right up until they tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power by keeping Congress from certifying the electoral votes. That's the difference between the BLM riots and what happened on 1/6. And I agree with Fatso.... Trump DID coordinate the worst executed insurrection in history.

    What about that!

None of Trump’s Supreme Court appointees or Trump acolyte’s husband Clarence Thomas objected to the one sentence turn down of Orange Jesus’ emergency ruling appeal concerning the top secret documents he stole and stashed at Mar-a-Lago. Doesn’t look good for the Lawless One. It’s all catching up with him, and his far right appointees obviously take their oath to “faithfully and impartially discharge the duties incumbent on me under the Constitution and laws of the United States” seriously. Hubris always catches up with brazen egomaniacs. He ain’t fooling with New York City municipal officials. He’s in way over his head and sinking fast.

  21. This. I made a point like this in one of the many other threads. Year in and year out WOS benefits from the experience they get from playing an extremely difficult schedule before district. This year the schedule was no different, but I think they would’ve benefited from a couple of easy games to start out considering they’re working on new schemes with a new coach this year. I know Nederland isn’t having a good year, but traditionally they play wos tough, and the coaches certainly couldn’t go into that game with the mindset of working on things the way they can against your liberty and bridge cities of the world. This is also the strongest district they’ve been in possibly ever? I can’t remember a district that WOS has been in with 3 teams that were good enough to keep it close with them, much less actually beat them. It’s funny, for all the doom and gloom, they easily could’ve beaten Newton (who’s handed them plenty of losses over the years), and probably should’ve beaten HF. I strongly believe Silsbee beats them this year no matter who is on the sidelines. There’s no doubt been some growing pains on the sidelines, but WOS is only a couple of plays from being 6-2, and there’s a good chance that’s where they’d be if they didn’t get a new coach this season.

  26. Not as a QB. DB He's thrown for 685 yards (45% completion) 3 TD's and 5 INT's in 8 games. He's rushed for 766 yards and 8 TD's. Zeno has thrown for 1110 yards (60% completion) 11 TD's and 1 INT. He's rushed for 673 yards and 15 TD's. Brazosport is 4-4, HF is 6-2. Both of their schedules are about the same as far as toughness. I would say Zeno is the better QB.

  27. I do not think he is a starter. If it was after 1st qt then he was not a starter. starters pulled at the end of 1st qt.

    Livingston at Vidor (HOCO)

I know Livingston has that stud linebacker/FB again this year, Connor Starr, #44. Kids 6’ 220 and way to much speed for a kid that size. He chased down a Pirate RB last year. They’ll have to put a helmet on him every play. Watched Video & pretty sure saw him run one in for an 11 yd TD. Dangerous on both sides of the ball. He’s just one of many good athletes the Lions have. Vidor must go back to their winning combination of no turnovers. If they do they’ll have a good shot of winning. Gift Livingston and the Pirates may start thinking about basketball (not a historically optimistic thought).

    Despicable DeSantis

When backed into a corner by facts (your post - my post), Dems call on their bestest friend, the cricket. I’ll admit I don’t envy them. It’s hard to defend the indefensible. I can’t speak for everyone else but my #1 issue when voting is inflation. Honestly can’t think of a single positive thing about the Dem Party. That’s sad in itself. They’ve created inflation and it’s downhill from there.

  36. Agreed. That was the most physical football game I've ever seen. Most of the games we played against WOS and Silsbee were like that during that mid-80s to early-90's era. It was fun...

  43. No, there's not. You can find article after article about election fraud, but they are just reports ABOUT reports.... and nobody ever pops up with "here's the photos.... here's a video.... here's the electronic records.... here's the dead voters who voted." It's always just some whackjob making crazed allegations without a single shred of tangible evidence. "oh, this blogger isn't mainstream media.... of course it's true, the media just won't report it." Like I said.... there are tons of threads and articles about how Earth is actually flat if you ever get bored with the election lie.

  44. That's my point.... the Republican Party is ran by people who believe that anything less than complete capitulation to the Trump Mafia is a sign that one is just a "squishy moderate Republican" or a "RINO," when in fact the typical conservative voter doesn't agree with the Hard Right-wing stances. Just like I'm fairly certain that your average liberal voter doesn't agree with a lot of the positions of the hard-core left wingers that run the Democrat party. Unfortunately, your myopic (you'll probably have to google that ) view of the world makes you useless when it comes to seeing any other points of view, the same way that the Republican Party is useless when it comes to bringing voters into the fold and actually winning elections. Do you like to eat shrimp and catfish from time to time? How's about we outlaw that since some even MORE orthodox believers think that consuming those scavengers is sinful? THAT is actually in the Bible, unlike the abortion argument. Before you throw out the "Old Testament vs New Testament" argument, I'd like to point out that the ten commandments are in the Old Testament. You pick and choose your own morality, but wish to deny others the same privilege.

  45. That's my problem with the whole fiasco. I personally expected to see widespread voter irregularities. They never appeared, so I accepted the truth. So many people refuse to do the same thing. If there was credible evidence of voter fraud, you could get the diesel and I'd bring the matches. THERE JUST WASN'T ANY PROOF. There's no problem with having questions about the outcome. We SHOULD ask questions in a constitutional republic like ours. But at some point you have to realize that it had been two months after the election and no evidence was found, yet the Trumpers were storming the Capitol on 1/6 based on lies perpetuated by the losing party. I had a drink on the night of the election and told myself that I was gonna pretend like Trump won, because I knew that the results would shift towards Biden when the absentee votes were counted. Rs went to the polls and voted in person in defiance.... Ds mailed their ballots from home while probably wearing a mask..... Just like so many of them continue to mask up today. And they just didn't have the mechanisms in place to count the absentee ballots as quickly. It's not rocket science. I hoped his lead would be sustained, but it wasn't, and it wasn't a surprise to the intelligent. Here we are two years late and an overwhelming majority of republicans on the ballot nationwide are still claiming that the election was stolen from Trump in 2020. THAT is dangerous. It doesn't matter what the blue collar and white collar Republican voters think.... when the elected officials from the R party are a bunch of flat-earthers when it comes to the 2020 election, it's not a good thing.

  46. I'm a Gen Xer who talks to tons of younger folks. Those Boomers and Gen Xers got tons of Sunday School lessons, but then couldn't be bothered to take our kids to church and it shows up in their level of ambivalence on issues like abortion. People like LumRaiderFan don't have any idea what to do about unwanted kids... they just know what they believe, and therefore everybody else should be held to his standard. 99% of the people who are adamantly opposed to abortion aren't getting any, and that's what they're really angry about.
    1 point
  47. Yeah... go to a meeting of your local republican group(s)... the party at the grassroots level is run by people who are complete righty nutjobs. Like.... You can't support from the local party to run for dogcatcher as a republican unless you're willing publicly proclaim that Trump won the 2020 election but it got stolen.

  48. Was getting on to say exactly this. She was pretty moderate for a democrat 20 years ago, so you can only imagine how far she is from the more liberal left now. that being said, she's also probably closer to your average Republican these days than someone like Marjorie Taylor Greene is.
