And to add insult to injury some of the talent that was here always go to the other schools surrounding Coldspring at times (Huntsville, Willis, Conroe, Livingston, Shepherd and sometimes Cleveland).

This is the last home game for our seniors. Hoping for everyone to come out and show their support for these kids. Even if you don't agree with anything else. These seniors have worked hard to be Mustangs. I don't think they deserve what's happened to their season. We need to show them that win or lose, they are and always will be part of Mustang Nation. Let's do this for the kids. Mustangs get another shutout... 50-0

Your assumption is also correct that Porter only needs to win by three points to get into the playoffs, at which point Crosby moves into 3rd place and plays Lancaster in bi-district. BH can still finish 2nd with a KP loss and a win over Porter or completely miss the playoffs with a loss to Porter by 3 points or more.

In the football forum if a team lost a QB, RB, DE and LB all at once wouldn't that be a very important item and be discussed at length? Of course it would. I would hold off on giving them the trophy. There is another defense that held 8 of 10 opponents to minus rushing yards at half time, allowed 2.7 points a game in 10 games. An offense that averages 42 points by half time. The starting defense gave up 27 points in 10 games. The offense and defensive starters have not taken a snap in the fourth quarter. QB has thrown for 2,503, 35 touchdowns, with 3 interceptions and he only played the first series in the third quarter. I can’t wait to see Silsbee and the Gobbler’s, we in the East know how good they are.

Our new HC was our former D coordinator! He will have to now be a boss to coaches he’s been buddies with the past years. It a hard thing to do but only kids suffer when position coaches dont have the oversight and can do what they want without repercussions.

LCM need not worry bout this one I think! I think our coaches trying to get ready for next year. Pretty good seniors on sideline and they refuse to use entire team to get a team win. Sad days In Huffman. I feel someone needs to be held accountable. If not it’s only going to continue.

No prob. I should have qualified my earlier facile-ish comment with an "IMO". The center is a excellent lineman and a good athlete, and occasionally snaps it high, from game 1, against Memorial. I'm not criticizing him, I'm in support of him. He's a great player and I'm glad that he's on our side. Regarding the passing game(s), the unofficial stats I've seen posted on another site show "PN-G total yards as ~370, vs Nederland ~160, including the 61 yard fumble return." ... "Indians with 215 yards on the ground and 155 passing. Crippen 13 of 19 with 1 TD pass and no interceptions. Nederland 5 of 18 for 94 yards, no TDs and 2 interceptions passing. 74 yards rushing and 2 TDs. " In the first half PNG stayed on the ground, but was using pitchouts, which they hadn't done in previous games. I guess a pitchout in the rain may be considered semi-conservative. But also #33 only got a couple plays, for some reason. #3, and #18 both had turns at RB, for the first time this season. #19 has lined up as RB before, but on one play he went in motion (1st time I recall seeing that this season) and actually took the snap. The defense showed at least one new formation as well. So, overall, it was a slightly different game set for PNG; whether the weather had anything to do with it, I have no idea. Overall, like I said previously, it was a fun game to watch; I'm glad it was a close game.

I’m going to probably hurt some feelings. Move back here and my first son graduated in 2014. I’ve watched Crosby since about 2010. This is the worst O-line I’ve seen and honestly the least athletic all around. The kids do battle though. I asked last night when I got to the game if they were healthy and I was told yep no more excuses tonight. Then I look and man something is just missing. I’ll drive to Longview to watch, but dang I feel like it’s the worse kind of situation. Those people trashing the defense, remember the D really only gave up 28 last night. The offense turned it over at the 2 and they returned a kickoff for a td. I don’t think they will hold up at all against Longview though(in the first half).

Springing to the line and snapping quick gives the defense no time to see what backs are in and what the formation is
