District 9: Jasper is 2nd at 7-3 with close losses to highly ranked teams (10-0 franklin, 9-1 newton, 10-0 Silsbee), and HF is 3rd at 7-3 with three 1-score losses to great teams, two highly ranked (10-0 Lumberton, 10-0 Silsbee, and 7-3 Jasper). District 10: Brookshire Royal is 2nd at 9-1. That said, their schedule is awful. All of these houston teams are so weak that even a team with good record from playing other houston teams still isn't very good. A perfect example is this: BR's best win on paper this year is against Houston Furr. Furr is 8-2 on the season. But last year Furr was 7-3, and in the first round played Stafford, who was okay. Stafford beat them 50-7. Royal has played one good team, Bellville, who IMO would fit right in amongst the top 3 of District 9. Royal lost 48-3. Can you imagine if Silsbee had beaten HF and Jasper 48-3? Sealy is 3rd at 6-4. and has exactly zero wins over teams with winning records. That said, they've played a tougher schedule than Royal, and IMO are better than Royal, even though Royal beat them. I'd rather HF play Royal in the first round than Sealy, but I think Jasper and HF would beat both teams, regardless of who played who. To be honest, WOS finishes 2nd in District 10, possibly first, if Bellville falls victim to the big bad boogeyman mentality.

I don’t see it on the lineup for Texan Live. Bellvillesports.com is waiting on permission from the UIL to do a video stream which should be allowed since Texan Live isn’t doing it. They should know by tomorrow or Thursday. Regardless they will have a audio stream.

Explosive on offense, tough on defense and good on special teams. Whoever beats them will have to play their A game! They will be a tough out!

I" believe the wheater played a big factor in last weeks game. On a pretty night I" believe Silsbee wins that game by 14 -21 points . IMO

I agree with you. We've seen this before in HS football. A team that is loaded with talent but just hasn't put it together. A win in the first round against a previously undefeated team can be just the right thing to get a team the confidence they need and on a roll. Look at Chappell Hill last year coming out as a 4th seed. I bet there are a bunch of teams pulling for Belville this week. Not just Silsbee and Jasper.

As much as I’d like to agree with you… I think your mistaken on the district comparison.

But Westwood barely beat us on our own mistakes... Put it like this (because we do have a winning record and still miss the playoffs) had we not had those mistakes Westwood would definitely be out the playoffs giving how our district played out.

3863 total offensive yards 2160 passing 1704 rushing 47 touchdowns and only 6 turnovers that’s stats before last weeks game and with our all district running back missing 3 games hopefully we can manage to hang with them

Would love to see Westwood have some success in the playoffs but I’ve got Anahuac in this one. The Westwood QB running the ball will give Anahuac trouble though.

Paul Pewitt beat us when we had Noah at quarterback and Gatson was a junior I believe.

Royal has picked up some Katy kids. I don't know the number or how good they are, but they have picked some up. Royal was 0-5, 1-4, 1-4 in their district the past three years, but 5-1 this year. It appears they made a difference. I think HF played much better opponents in WOS, Jasper, Silsbee. If HF takes it to them HF should win.

The only point I was trying to make is that when it was the big game Jasper has been the underdog all year we were the underdog against HF we were the underdog against West Orange all I'm saying is Jasper has impressed me this year and I am very proud of my community and my team. Class of 95

It happens. Maybe not more often than not.. but 4s definitely beat 1s. It has always been my argument that even if it happens once, it justifies sending 4 teams... even though most people think it waters it down.

Only way Lindale scores 42 is if Vidor starts turning the ball over and commits a lot of penalties. If Vidor takes care of business and plays clean football Lindale will not have enough time to score 42. Vidor has lots of running backs available going into this game, hopefully they keep fresh legs in there to eat up clock and yards.

If you are talking statewide, I would have to do some research. If just talking our coverage area, I'm on record saying WO-S will beat Bellville.

Pretty easy call. The head coach with the longest tenure at one school currently is Kevin Foster at Big Sandy. I would say Joubert at Kountze and English at Nederland would be the next two.
