Port Neches-Groves vs LBJ Austin
png9mon and 3 others reacted to Davidp0403 for a topic
Just watched LBJ vs Pflugerville Weiss. The one solid win they had on the year. If I was PNG I would give LBJ a solid dose of Adams and Hebert power run game mixed in with short passes to prosperie and guarnere. With PNG big Oline they should average like 4/5 yds a carry against a speedy smallish LBJ dline. LBJ is not faster than FBM or PAM. I think United even looks faster. LBJ is good but very beatable by PNG as long as they shoot themselves in the foot with stupid mistakes or turnovers4 points -

Mine either, he'll get my vote again if he's the Republican nominee because he'll be way better for the country than anyone on the democrat side. That is a fact, there's no debate over it, and still, uninformed "swing" voters will vote to the detriment of the country based on feelings.2 points -
Rio????? talk about living in the past! Prieto stepped into an ideal situation???? 1. Missed playoffs in Rios last year 2. Lost to SANTA FE!!!!!!!! 3. District just fired 100 employees 4. Every Coach he hired he had to convince them their checks would clear. 5. Superintendent Got ran out of town. 6. All kind of rumors circling around the athletic program. 7. Worst Rep for recruiting on East Side of Houston (and thats tough to do) I could list 20 other things but I wont. Coach P stepped into that!2 points

Prayers for those families. And speaking of prayers, I recently went to an LSU football game and they had a âmoment of reflectionâ where a student prayed over the stadium speaker system before the game. Gotta tell you, there werenât many sober in that stadium that night but the fact they still pray before games? I became more of a Tiger fan that night.2 points -

These bozos like @BMTSoulja1 are clueless but you're absolutely right. This dude will tip toe around the real reasons why BMT will continue to struggle, as long as they are 6A and play the best of the best. Hell, he won't even tip toe, he will straight up not even acknowledge them lol. Lets hit the main reasons - no turf field, not all kids in the athletics periods, chaos across campus, coaches exhausted from teaching 6 classes every single day. The other schools in the district don't have these problems, but this dude will just say "The talent is there and the coaching is bad". Such a joke. Some of the coaches these dudes ran out of town are still coaching right now in the playoffs.1 point -
How Trump, Infighting, and Flawed Candidates Limited Republican Gains

Yeah, you nailed it, I just want to gripe, what a ridiculous take on it. These aren't Republicans that are choosing democrats, it's the squishy moderates. And tell me, what social issues are so important that you would choose them over trashing our energy sector, swing the borders wide open, usher in inflation and high unemployment and higher taxes. Tell me what social issues are so important, is it the freedom to murder babies at will, free college, what are they?1 point -

I agree there are others but we may not have a choice, without a doubt any would be better than what the democrats will serve up. The problem we have was stated very well long ago by John Adams. Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people. Pretty sure he wasn't referring to a general knowledge about the Kardashians or who won American Idol.1 point -
Trump Running in 2024
Reagan reacted to LumRaiderFan for a topic
Folks have been screaming to have someone step in that wasn't part of the swamp...then we got it. It led to energy independence, lower taxes and unemployment, someone at least wanting to solve the border problem, someone that was tired of being taken advantage of in free trade and NATO...the list goes on. What is much more toxic to me than rhetoric is stuff like Bush doubling down on the DEA and Medicare D...that's what is toxic to me...expanding the federal government. Republicans seem to think that getting back to the more civil but same old swamp politics that brought us Trump in the first place is the way to go, all because the idiotic moderates say so. Personally, I would rather go down fighting for what's right instead of kowtowing to the radical baby killing left. Trump may not be the guy but he's better than any of the folks I see in Washington that will simply play by Washington rules.1 point -

You know exactly what I was talking about. I am not aware of a Trump assessment from her. Make no mistake, It doesnât Matter if Jesus Christ ran for President in 2024 as a Republican, the Democrats would harvest enough ballots to beat him to retain power an implement the Communist Marxist Agenda. The voting apparatus is set in place with the mail in voting in key states so itâs not going to matter who the candidate is in 2024. Not to mention majority of the Republican Party are Democrats. Just one Big Uniparty devouring everything in its path.1 point -

How bad would a republican candidate have to be before you would vote for a democrat (no need to answer this)? The point being that the quality of the candidate only goes so far, and is always going to be outweighed by policy. It truly doesn't matter that bad democratic options are worse than the bad republican options in areas that are moderate or left-leaning, and vice versa in conservative areas. here's the thing that republicans in ultra-red states always seem to ignore: in many states there is a very even split of republicans and democrats. in some states democrats have an advantage, but it's not insurmountable. in order to win those states, you have to actually provide a good option for moderates and apathetic democrats to vote for. The candidate that you'd want representing you in Texas is a terrible choice to run in these races. A terrible choice that is also associated with trump is even worse. A quality candidate could've flipped Pennsylvania, but a Trump-backed TV doctor wasn't going to do it, even against someone like Fetterman. That's just the political makeup of Pennsylvania at the current time. I think you're an intelligent person, and I respect your opinions. That said, your continued insistence that the fault lies with the "low information voters" rather than with the republican party for failing to do what it takes to secure their votes is incorrect IMO. Combine that with the inexplicable attack on abortion (not arguing right and wrong, just insanely stupid timing) just a few months before midterms, and the Republicans are lucky to have secured the meager gains they did.1 point
-
You can start with eliminating anyone who's running on a "the election was stolen" mantra. Of course, that's most of the candidates Trump has endorsed. Do I really need to discuss why Herschel Walker and Mehmet Oz were poor choices? A decent candidate in Pennsylvania would've been a cakewalk over the human potato, and the same goes in Georgia. The fact that Walker made it to a runoff with all of the information that has come out about him shows just how easily a real candidate could've won that race against Warnock. This pattern holds true in several other crucial races that the republicans lost. Kari Lake is another terrible candidate. From Republican to Independent to Democrat, and then back to Republican, going with whatever ship can take her the farthest. Being "pretty hot for a politician" and willing to tout Trump's wildest claims clearly wasn't enough to make her a good candidate. I guess we'll see how that race pans out, but it's not looking great.1 point

Top Teams in SETX - 2022-2023
5GallonBucket reacted to BMTSoulja1 for a topic
Been hearing some pretty good things out of the two 6a squads. WB returns some good players and will be in the playoff mix. I also heard that Coach Brown from United is very excited with this upcoming group. Donât have a player like Ashlei Kirvin or Princess Anderson, but the team as a whole will be very good. Canât wait to see how this team mesh as the season gets started. She-Wolves are in the tough tournaments so weâll know early if theyâre ready for 6a ball.1 point -
Likewise there are very few HS coaches out there, anywhere that could take a team that lost 18 starters and go undefeated heading into the state championship game. Of all the great coaching jobs Cornel has done, this year has been so good itâs absolutely ridiculous.1 point
-
Donât feel bad. A lot of us would have lost money betting against it. 19 seniors, 18 starters? Back to state? Get the heck outta here. Oh wait... I donât deny WOS has some great athletes, but they are not even a large school anymore for their classification. They have lost a ton of kids who moved out (there were a few LCM Bears this year that would have been gangbusters at WOS as well). What they have is one of the greatest defensive minds this state has ever seen and parents who trust the coaches to do their jobs. They outwork and outprepare virtually everyone (again coaching), and believe it or not millennials, that is still a recipe for success. And while Coach T couldnât go to High Island and win state or send a kid to Saban or the Seahawks, what he could do is make almost any team, anywhere better. And there are a lot of schools (one or two even in this area) that have very good programs that he would push to the next level IMO (I.e., state). Lucky for the Mustang faithful, Coach T learned home is where the heart is and will retire one day as yet another Texas High School coaching legend from the fruit city...1 point
