  2. Just looking at 1 year is not very scientific. But that's all we have is 1 year in Houston so let's look at it. How many Dallas-area teams were playing in the state game at NRG, how good were they and what kind of following did they have? Here is the lineup: 2A Division 1 Canadian Refugio 61-20 2A Division 2 Bremond Albany 35-20 3A Division 1 Brock Cameron Yoe 43-33 3A Division 2 Waskom Franklin 33-21 4A Division 1 Waco La Vega Argyle 33-31 4A Division 2 West Orange-Stark Celina 22-3 5A Division 1 Richmond George Ranch Mansfield Lake Ridge 56-0 5A Division 2 Cedar Park Frisco Lone Star 22-6 6A Division 1 Galena Park North Shore Austin Westlake 21-14 OT 6A Division 2 Katy Austin Lake Travis 34-7 Kyler Murray and the Allen crowds of the previous 2 years were gone. Metroplex teams, the ones that made it, got dominated. Argyle, Celina, Lake Ridge and Lone Star all lost and the most were not even close. So, yea most people from the metroplex didn't want to travel to Houston to watch those arse whoopings.

    Png 2023 ??

Cool facts about PNG for those who are interested. Please do not take his as bragging. I am only interested in sharing to those who love high school football or want something to compare their program to. I am a proud Indian and love to talk with others. PN-G has won 65% of its 88 playoff games. PN-G has won 57 playoff games. PN-G has been the district champions 27 times. PN-G has been to the bi-district 34 times PN-G has been to area 12 times. PN-G has been to regionals 17 times PN-G has been to the Quarter-finals 11 times. PN-G has been to the semi-finals 9 times PN-G has been to the state championship 7 times. PN-G has won 3 state championships. Only one team in SETX has been to the State championship more time than PN-G and that is the mighty WOS Mustangs with 8 trips. The other great team from SETX to TIE PN-G for trips to the State Championship is the mighty Newton Eagles. We do not have the talent of WOS or Newton. Definitely not SOC. They had over 180 scholarship offers to their team vs a minor handful to PNG. Coaching has been huge for us this season. Congrats to SOC on a magical season, Hats off to you and your program. PN-G had a magical season of their own defeating the #2 #3 and #5 teams in the state. Thank you SETX family for your support. Thank you SETXSPORTS for your support. I have received so many messages of encouragement from many of you and your support warmed my heart. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Even those who sent negative messages at least you recognized the feat of making it this far. Thanks again for making this magical season feel like we are ne big family. Far those who said due to demographics we would never again make it to state I hope you see that there can and will always be opportunities to make it with the right combination of kiddos and coaching and that demographics cant stop a team from making it. Even in this day of recruiting, building super magnet schools and putting all the best athletes on a single team with a goal of making a SC teams like a PNG, Nederland, PAM, WB, BU, Lumberton, Vidor, Dayton, Jasper, WOS, Newton, West Sabine, Shelbyville, and all the other teams that are landlocked, in a dead growth area can and in fact will make it back at some point. When they do its all the more special. No transfers, no magnets, just hometown kiddos playing their tales off. Look at Silsbee. they have been stellar and Ill say it got screwed out of a shot at the semi-finals by a bullshit non-call. I watched the Silsbee game and saw several times the refs screwed them over. Parden my language. The 2 pt. that was allowed when Cuerro was throwing off his knee really pissed me off. It wasn't as if it was something close. he was down way before the ball was thrown. I have no skin in the game as I am a PNG fan, but Silsbee was the best team and should have been playing in the next round. I hate it when refs determine a game. they should never be the deciding factor in an important game as this one was.. Great season Silsbee, Great season Lumberton.

  5. I had a coach ask me how many games has Silsbee won in the playoffs the last several years and got me to wondering myself. In the last 8 seasons, Silsbee has won 40 playoff games. That's averaging 5 wins a playoff season. Here is the last 8 seasons: 2015 Regional finals (4-1) 2016 State finals (6-1) 2017 State Champs (7-0) 2018 State Champs (7-0) 2019 Regional finals (4-1) 2020 Regional semis (3-1) 2021 Regional finals (4-1) 2022 State semis (5-1) That's 7 regional final appearances in 8 seasons. 4 Regional champs 4 state tourney appearances 2 state championships 1 runnerup I think one would have to go back to the Port Arthur Lincoln days of the 80's and 90's to come up with a better playoff run here locally. If you go back to 2005, Silsbee has reached the regional finals 12 times in that 18 year span, winning the region 6 times. Made the regional tournament in 14 of those 18 seasons. Pretty phenomenal two decade run so far for Silsbee.

  6. From the article: "Just imagine for a moment that Donald Trump, Jr. (or Eric) sat on the board of directors for a foreign company and “earned” millions of dollars for literally doing nothing. He didn’t know the industry and didn’t speak the language. The only thing Junior brought to the table was his last name. He made deals with foreign agents and foreign corporations to acquire rare materials like cobalt (used in electric cars) that was sold to Chinese interests for profit. While on an extended drug binge, he took a computer with lots of incriminating evidence to a repair shop and forgot or didn't care what he’d done with it. Then he ignored all the calls from the shop telling him to come pick up his computer. That would be huge news, wouldn’t it? Of course, Donald Trump, Sr. would be crucified. The media coverage would be nonstop. After years of witch hunts, they would finally have legitimate criminal behavior to investigate. The thousands of hours of airtime devoted to fake scandals would finally have paid off. But change the name from Donald Trump, Jr. to Hunter Biden and the political party that stands to suffer from the revelations from Republican to Democrat, and the media becomes curiously uninterested in doing their job, which is to report the truth: That Hunter Biden is the bagman for the Biden family crime syndicate. The latest Twitter Files information drop proves it. Not only has Hunter’s corrupt and criminal business deals been exposed, the extraordinary lengths to which the FBI acted to suppress a true story have been exposed, too. FBI agents swear to an oath of office..." [Hidden Content]

  8. Is there another country in the Americas rhat is more important? Why can’t you say American? The name of our country is The United States of America. We are identified by the country we are from. People from Brazil will tell you they are Brazilians, not South Americans. This nonsense is coming from a university in the liberal cesspool state of California. We just need to ignore all things California.

  9. The two things that were disappointing to me about Houston was: (1) the general football fans didn't attend like I thought they would. I went and had a great time. (2) The metroplex crowds were light in the arse, and that's being generous at best. If they were to do a rotation cool, if not still cool. For a state championship game kids would play anywhere, in any type of elements for a chance to win it.

  10. You added “when committing the same crimes”. Never in your article do they make such a statement. You don’t even read your own article. How can you be taken seriously. If reparations are granted, will black people stop committing crimes?

  11. Weather, weather, weather is why no one likes different locations. AT&T gives every team a chance. No wind, rain, or cold. Home field advantage would make sense IF the teams played all their home games there. The one time it was played at NRG, attendance was way down. 90 percent of the teams that make it to the championship prefer AT&T.

    Jack Yates ?

It seems easier to move from one D-1 school to another than from one high school to another, depending on the school, coach, player, etc. If the student wants to move and be with relatives in another town, and he is willing to be restricted to JV ball to do so, then they should let him move on.

I remember a few years ago Silsbee lost two b-ball players to West Brook in one year.

    Jack Yates ?

I would actually. If a kid leaves to go to another school so be it. That's his families decision. West Brook is looking very bas for this. Its 3500 other kids at that school. Worry about those and leave the child alone. If he stays in Silsbee and doesn't play a sport I would feel the same way

  15. In bold: I agree. Now if the situation was reversed and it was Silsbee fighting the transfer to WB would you feel the same way?

    Jack Yates ?

Has to play JV. That's the QB that transferred. Was not signed off on. West Brook is fighting the transfer.

  17. I think its a great thing for HF to be in a strong district. Iron sharpens iron, and makes HF stronger for the playoffs. What you don't want is to be in a weak district like 3A is (for the moment), but I think Anahuac is growing up quickly, and OF looking pretty good too. In 4A if HF can play WOS, Silsbee and Jasper tough, that bodes well. As for 5A-I, we have enough challenges as it is. In 5A-II PNG leads the way, but sorry to say I think 6A is hopeless for Beaumont.

Coud you imagine Jack Bieber on the line with PNG's guys. That would have been crazy. Him and Ware together? Wow just wow at the thought of it.. The running backs would have had a literal interstate to run through. Jack was a beast for Nederland. What a talent. Hats off to Jack and the rest of the Dogs who made it. Congrats.

  21. Shame on Yates. Knew the Bears were about the hand them their behinds so they no show after LCM traveled to play them twice?? And where are the few JY sympathizers who love to roam this board when the Lions are in peak form? No showing seems to be a pattern over there. That’s a bad trait to carry through life by the way…. What a horrible message to send to kids.

  22. This was my tenth year attending the entire weekend, and I can say without a doubt, AT&T is the premiere location for these games. There is no argument to be made except for the one about home field advantage. Having said that, NS has won 3 of 4 from Duncanville with the disadvantage everyone is saying they have by going into AT&T for that game. The DFW teams have an advantage, but it has nothing to do with the location. It's more related to facilities, support and easy ability to move around.

  24. They shouldn’t be wanting to play at Jerry’s monstrosity. They should be wanting to play for a state championship. Most of the population is in the east part of the state. So having it in NRG every 3 years is not that bad. Rotate. I’m tired of the home field advantage to the DFW schools. Mom cooks them breakfast and they catch a ride to the game.

  27. People keep pointing out the one year at NRG. There were three or four newer schools playing. 5A-DI George Ranch vs Lake Ridge (15,743). 5A-DII Cedar Park vs Frisco Lone Star (13,479). Not much of a following built up with a lack of alumni. Plus the big thing people don’t like to bring up. DFW doesn’t travel as well. They’ll show up when it’s in their backyard. Katy vs Lake Travis drew 43,718 in Houston. North Shore vs Westlake was 28,841. Schools within 100 miles of AT&T Stadium went (5-1) this year. China Spring is 109 miles away and also won. There is a real home field advantage for the DFW. Stephenville (west of DFW) might have brought 5,000 fans in 1999 to the Astrodome. That was crazy to me considering the monster program they had built. I like the idea of a 3 stadium rotation and San Antonio is most central location with a dome if a rotation isn’t possible. There’s also the crowd talking about the experience the kids get playing in AT&T. Well I’ll say Newton was just a excited to win a title in Tyler Rose Stadium when the weather was in the 20’s as they were when winning it AT&T.

  28. Business? Thought UIL was about "equity". I suspect like most professed "equity" agendas, that all stops once pockets are glazed.

  29. They tried this already in 2015 at NRG…attendance was down it’ll never be anywhere else other than Jerry’s World the UIL is in the business of making money and the most is made at Jerry’s world
