What about the descendants of white people who lost their lives fighting to free your ancestors? Should they receive reparations, too? What about the people who legally purchased and bred slaves, only to have them freed without compensation? Should those families receive reparations? What about the people whose property and fortunes were destroyed in the war to free the slaves… shouldn’t you be obligated to make their descendants whole today? Reparations are a good idea only to the simple minded and those who want the votes of the simple minded. The problem with reparations is this… the federal government can’t give anything to anybody without first taking it from someone else. So what you are really arguing is that your neighbors deserve to have things taken from them and given to you… that you never earned and therefore don’t deserve. And if your neighbor doesn’t agree with you, it’s because he’s white, uneducated, and disenfranchised. You’ve been lied lied to your whole life. Nobody owes any of us anything… never has, never will.

Nonsense. They’re not committing crimes at the same rates. No police officer is going “well, he murdered him, but he’s white. Let’s just let him off with a warning.”

I taught in inner city Beaumont for 15 years. Students had to be low socioeconomic to qualify for school. I’ve had several parents of students friend me on Facebook over the years, and every spring they’re posting about their tax returns of thousands of dollars (like $10k). I’ve even seen advertisements from tax services around town guaranteeing these giant returns. Most of them don’t work, or if they do it’s part time for minimum wage. Yet somehow they’re getting much larger tax returns than people working full time, well-paying jobs. Is that not reparations? One thing is for sure, they’re not using the money to better their situations. How much money would it take to make a difference? How many people would even use the money responsibly if they got it? Free housing, free phones, free insurance, free food. Sounds like reparations to me. And working more hours and getting better jobs disqualifies you from getting these freebies. if anything, the reparations already being handed out are discouraging African Americans from bettering themselves.

If I am a high school basketball coach in this area, I would not waste my time scheduling any Houston ISD school. They are as unprofessional as they come. Two games were canceled this week, one without any notice. Houston Yates was scheduled to play at Little Cypress-Mauriceville today but called and canceled the game on Monday. Then, without notice, Houston Furr no showed for their game last night at West Orange-Stark. This is not the first time (nor will it be the last) that a Houston ISD school pulled this unprofessional move. In regards to the Yates/LC-M game, LC-M had already played at Yates the last two seasons. All Coach Jeffcoat was wanting was a return game. When I saw the game on the schedule and the date that it was to be played (last day to play before Christmas break) first thing I thought was Yates backing out of the game. When I got the phone call from Coach Jeffcoat Monday, I was not surprised. There was some excuse given but IMO, the reason for Yates canceling was more about not being able to afford losing to a team like LC-M, which they would have. Furr not even showing and not calling WO-S to cancel the game is as unprofessional as it gets. Decisions like this is why HISD is looked down upon by others in the state. This all comes from the top (HISD admins). Schools like LC-M and WO-S simply don't matter to them and could careless about any ramifications. As far as I am concerned, I hope no area school ever schedules a Houston ISD school. Simply not worth the potential aggravation of losing a scheduled game.

Why are you so willing to point out discrepancies between the rates of incarceration as a bad thing, but then gloss over discrepancies between the races on dropout rates with “white people drop out, too.” Anytime somebody talks about systemic racism, they are talking about an insignificant problem after glossing over the fact that most of the problems facing the black community are self-inflicted… it just feels better to blame them on Whitey.

I don’t know how you ignore printers settings intentionally being set to a configuration that would cause tabulators to malfunction a cause 1 1/2 to 4 hour delays in 70 out of 223 voting centers, all 70 being deep red voting centers. Why would you do that knowing the tabulators are going to reject it? Total BS! They are suppose to be tested the day before elections for functionality. The Chain of custody of the ballots which is Arizona law was totally obliterated by not following through with whss as t the law says. But who needs laws now days BECAUSE NO ONES FOLLOWS THEM ESPECIALLY THE DEMOCRATS. Thing about it is if the judge makes them have a re election the far left will probably start burning down the cities and threaten public officials. How do have a re election with the same crooked officials with the same officials? I say call in the military to over a new election. Fix 2020 or BUST!…An currently we are and will BUST! Since math is now considered racist and you are attempting to use it in your favor, maybe I could sort it out for you. Could it be that blacks are arrested 5-1 due to committing 5 times the crimes? The two things that were disappointing to me about Houston was: (1) the general football fans didn't attend like I thought they would. I went and had a great time. (2) The metroplex crowds were light in the arse, and that's being generous at best. If they were to do a rotation cool, if not still cool. For a state championship game kids would play anywhere, in any type of elements for a chance to win it.

Substituting offense for defense and vice versa isn't questionable, maybe questionable to fans in the stands who don't understand close late game situations and trust me I know both fanbases had a few of those ppl in the stands last night at Pear Orchard.

Silsbee leads the series 4-3 over Yates. All of the games have been in the playoffs.

And where are the few JY sympathizers who love to roam this board when the Lions are in peak form? No showing seems to be a pattern over there. That’s a bad trait to carry through life by the way….
