  1. I don’t think religion is relevant. I do think the national media is relevant on what they want to make into a major news story. For example, George Zimmerman kills Trayvon Martin. No matter a person’s opinion on right or wrong, it was just a local homicide. The media didn’t make it just news, it was international news for over a year. That was purely a media driven story. Michael Brown was killed by a police officer after attacking the officer and after he committed a robbery. A couple of people a day are killed by the police somewhere in this country. Why was that case international news for over a year? The media inflamed the public on that case and the DOJ spent millions of dollars on what was a local incident. After a year of investigating, the federal prosecutors came to the same conclusion that the local prosecutors were able to do in two weeks. Religion? It isn’t relevant in my opinion but the media seems very selective on what they make into a national or international news story. I would think most people would be more interested in a woman being hacked to death than one guy shooting another and claiming self defense.

  2. I wouldn't say Silsbee was "way down". They did make it to the regional finals that year (lost to Huffman by 4). They were just very very young. Freshmen and Soph.

  4. IMO it's premature to fire someone over allegations that were almost immediately retracted. But I don't have access to the evidence, and I'm sure the powers that be at UT are able to get it. I expect the charges to be dropped fairly soon. How can you take someone to trial when the alleged victim is saying "I lied about him choking me, and told the police as much that night before they even arrested him. All of my other minor injuries were a result of him defending himself against me." That said, I never expected him to survive this in today's ultrawoke climate. I'll never support a wife beater, but I'll also never support an atmosphere where the mere allegation that somebody did something leads to the immediate cancellation of their entire life.

  5. Funny how those on here, who have never said one bad word about the left and their policies, criticize the right for assuring the right person gets to be leader, and then expect the right to “get to work” to fix the problems brought on by their own corrupt and failed leaders and policies. Who the hell thinks like that?

  14. Where did you come up with that? I would rather her take charge and do something at the border, seeing how she is the “border czar”. But you are correct, the Dems have done nothing, and are ruining America in the process. But hey, you go ahead and keep on voting for them.

  20. Might be the worst? Bruh, i don't know if they would qualify for the playoffs in United's district right now. It is a terribly coached team lacking even mediocre Division I talent. Not one starter would be a six man on any other SLC team right now and that's saying something because the Southland is terrible. The new regime had no ties to the current staff. And if they say they are committed to raising the stature if the school, they find the cash. I haven't wrote a check in a few years because I've been disgusted at the product. Chris Beard would open my pockets again. Beard and his fiancee need counseling, but bring them to Beaumont.

The Cardinals might be the worst team in D1 right now. They sorely need a guy like him, but there will be schools in better positions to win that have more cache' (and cash) lining up to hire him that won't care about the PR hit that would come with it.

  25. I've mentioned before about the fact that there's a lot pointing to him coming on this site with multiple accounts talking crap about coaches way more accomplished than himself, while making himself out to be one of the elite coaches in the area. One of those coaches is a man i played for and have much respect for, so that's part of it. That said, I'm fully willing to give him some credit for improving Lumberton in his time there. But is it really a testament to his ability as a coach that he took them to the playoffs in 2019 for the first time in 20 years? What about the fact that he had the best player in school history, an elite coach in his first and only year as his assistant, and that they'd dropped down to 4A after he'd managed to coach them to 3 total district wins in the previous 4 years in 5A? A 117-131 record, with more than half of those wins coming against 3A/below competition, and a 40-71 record in district over ten years just doesn't scream "Elite" to me, despite what some might say.

  26. what do u mean something deeper?? Lumberton didn’t have a a div 1 player the other two times Lumberton made the playoffs..the kid worked hard and then became one..and let’s be honest He s at Lamar. Bottom of d1 as of now. If Lumberton didn’t make the playoffs with such kid then I can understand the hate, but they did make the playoffs as well won a DC. Lumberton had made playoffs 4 times in 60 years, their head coach been a part of all 4, 3 as head coach and 1 as a player why so much hate?

  27. He isn’t saying anything about the number of students each school has. He is saying that the athlete’s at PNG come from Groves. Even the ones now that are from Port Neches. Most of their parents grew up in Groves. So they still have the Groves gene. Like it was said before in a different thread. Port Neches supplied the school and Groves supplies the athlete’s.

Lol It obviously bothers you that some of us on here don’t file in line like a government seal an clap. I find it hilarious that my jarring comments on here pulled you out of obscurity on this forum but while the country was being destroyed the last 2 years you had nothing to say. You’re not fooling no one, you’re just another troll. Lol

I know injuries are a part of the game but Brooks has been as snakebit as they come. The Cards have 8 players available tonight, 2 of them walk ons and another who was a walk on. It’s tough to win when you have 4-5 players who have started hurt.

  47. Kountze will probably be fighting for the 4th spot. They are young and small. The nights the long ball is falling they’ll be competitive when it’s not they’ll struggle to compete. Their biggest shortcoming is lack of depth. They are thin in that department. I don’t know what’s happened to Warren, It doesn’t look like they play much in the off season. OF/EC are the class of the district this year followed closely by Buna/Anahuac/Kountze

  48. The reason the attendance was down in NRG was because teams outside of Southeast Texas and Houston area don’t travel well. So yea the attendance is going to be low. When they don’t travel UIL doesn’t make as much money. That is a big issue. So in order to make money they accommodate the Dallas area teams so they don’t have far to go. I personally believe this is crap. Just because those teams don’t travel well all of the other areas have to go and spend their money just so the fans in the Dallas area are happy. I know some of the schools in that area say they can’t afford to travel. I can kind of understand that. Hell SOC couldn’t even afford to buy a uniform to fit #99 so everybody in stadium got a very unpleasant view of butt crack every offensive snap. But there are teams in Southeast Texas and the Houston area in the same boat. Why can’t we accommodate them? If I had to guess Jerry has a lot to do with this and the deal he has created with UIL.

  49. The two things that were disappointing to me about Houston was: (1) the general football fans didn't attend like I thought they would. I went and had a great time. (2) The metroplex crowds were light in the arse, and that's being generous at best. If they were to do a rotation cool, if not still cool. For a state championship game kids would play anywhere, in any type of elements for a chance to win it.

  50. Weather, weather, weather is why no one likes different locations. AT&T gives every team a chance. No wind, rain, or cold. Home field advantage would make sense IF the teams played all their home games there. The one time it was played at NRG, attendance was way down. 90 percent of the teams that make it to the championship prefer AT&T.
