As a PN-G fan one observation I have made this season is that Coach Joseph and his staff he assembled handled the big game well. I am not just speaking of the SC game against SOC (a great and deserving team), but games such as against FBM both times. His staff prepared the team well and adjusted his game plan to each team. This may seem like an obvious comment to something that should be normal but it isn't. Another thing that is obvious, but did happen was PN-G continuously approved each week. Coach Joseph and coach McDaniel played together at Katy and won a SC while playing. Both also coached in SC games. The other coach McCrary played WR at University of Texas. He was brought to PNG from SLC. As a player McCrary played in back to back SC,s and as a coach in 2020 his team made the SC before coming to PNG. That's 3 SC appearances for the OC plus years as a WR for UT. I can see now that as coaches at PNG they all have experience as playing in SC games. This was evident that any game we played in this year wasn't an unobtainable win or to be competitive. Coach McDaniel was the DC for Katy for several years and coached them in the SC games. That's my take from our coaching staff. Yes Coach Faircloth left them in great shape with a talented offense. The new coaches moved people around and wasn't afraid to play any player at any position at any time. Great staff assembled PNG and TY for doing a great job while replacing the winningest coach in our history. I couldn't even guess what the future holds at PNG, but I believe as long as we have this staff being competitive is something we should see every week under their leadership. We have quite a bit back next season. The line will be huge. RB is back adding Blair too the backfield next season which will add a bit more speed to the backfield for next season. WR will have to be replaced. QB will either be Shea or the Soph next year. Défense has a bit back next season as well. By the way there is a person on here who said PNG, Nederland, PAM, Lumberton, Vidor and so on would never make it to state again. Haven't seen so much as a good season or I was wrong at all from said person. Dont really care. PNG had a great season. Hope we have another one someday. If anything this should give hope to similar landlocked, non-magnet type schools still can and will make it to the big game. Look at Silsbee they have been on the cusp for a few years. It is possible. The last thing I would say is TY to all of you who supported us in this journey. Your support was noticed and appreciated by Indians fans everywhere.3 points -

it's always kinda funny on here when folks on either side spend a whole lot of effort excusing their guy's behavior, but then try to crucify the other guy for the same thing. Literally every one of you downplayed or totally dismissed Mar a Lago. If that wasn't a big deal, this certainly isn't, as it's on a much, much smaller scale. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it, the law enforcement response should be the same, at least kind of. Trump had 325 govt documents, including 160 secret and 60 top secret documents, stored haphazardly in 12 boxes at a storage room at his house. His possession of these documents was intentional. Biden forgot about 10 documents in a locked closet from his vice presidency, and a had a handful of documents at his house. Kinda apples and oranges, That said, it's hilarious watching the right pretend that this is all of a sudden a big deal when Trump's much more serious act was "just a witch hunt" a few months ago, and also watching the left pretend like this means nothing, when Trump's acts were akin to treason a few months ago. The hypocrisy of both sides knows no bounds, but it's pretty entertaining. The first page of this thread with the outraged comments about how hypocritical the left is was especially amusing.2 points

I agree completely with the first bolded statement. The second bolded statement, I'd argue the media is covering Biden pretty extensively here. Any difference in media and law enforcement reaction could be explained as political bias, but there's also a huge difference in the amount of documents and also the motive, so that also could and should play a role in law enforcement response as well.1 point

My take on this hasn't really got anything to do with Trump or Biden, I don't see either as a major deal and certainly don't think either was holding these documents for nefarious intentions. What I think is pathetic is the difference in reaction from federal law enforcement and the media on the two occurrences. There is no denying that and it certainly isn't hypocritical to call it out. But, it's always been this way and I sure don't see it changing.1 point -
The Classified documents in Biden’s garage were safe. They were in there by his Corvette. The guy who hates fossil fuels loves his gas guzzling, big horsepower Corvette. Still, the double standard of the Justice Department is extremely concerning. It should concern all of us, R & D. Someday the Republicans will be in charge, then they may throw their weight around. This is to close to Gestapo or KGB tactics, whoever may be in charge.1 point

No disrespect taken, but as a matter of fact, yes I do. They didn’t just show up. They played at lower levels with winning records before Coach Reyes was there too. Don’t forget, when Babin was there, the Raiders went 2 rounds deep 2 years in a row. The year before he left, they had a lousy season with the same 2 year starting QB they had before. They just didn’t have enough tools in the toolbox. Nothing against Reyes, I think he’s doing a good job. Coaching is a huge part of the success in a program, but so are the players.1 point -
I'd bet the records between PNMS and GMS are heavily in favor of PN. Nederland people are babies. One or two bad years out of 20 and suddenly the coaches and school board has always sucked. Yall should have gotten to state in 2000 and possibly 2001. Matched up with good teams and got beat. Could be much worse...look at us poor Cardinals. And...no chance PNG gets to state this year had they not done this bush league split of the divisions.1 point

The Tale Of Two Football Cities: Port Neches-Groves And Nederland
TxHoops reacted to PN-G bamatex for a topic
Neither does PN-G, or at least not a whole one. Pull up the district lines and city limits on Google Earth. Nederland ISD has all of Nederland, about a quarter of the city of Port Neches, all of Beauxart and Central Gardens and nearly all of the real estate in Port Arthur between FM 365 and Jimmy Johnson Boulevard. Port Arthur ISD has basically all of Groves south of Highway 73. PN-GISD only has what’s left of Port Neches and Groves, plus a sliver of Port Arthur around Lake Arthur Drive. Add all that up, and PN-GISD and Nederland ISD have roughly the same amount of residents, which is why they typically have roughly the same amount of students. Just about every realignment that I’ve seen a student census, the difference between their high school student bodies has been roughly a hundred students (~7% of total student population) or less. Some years PN-G has been bigger, some years Nederland has been bigger. Demographically, the two districts are almost indistinguishable from each other. I can’t believe I’m about to say this. Smitty has a point here.1 point -
