In the last 18 months, we lost both Norm MacDonald and Barbara Walters. Most in the world would probably consider Walters the bigger loss. Give me Norm. Here’s an appearance on The View from over 20 years ago where he almost makes Walters and a couple of her cohorts lose their mind. I’ve watched Coach Mitchell for years and the one thing no one ever mentions is his grasp of the defensive side of the game. He’s been doing a great job of preparing his clubs defensively for years.He’s gotta be doing something right because no one ever talked Lumberton basketball before he got there 🏀

So I am guessing that you go to Lumberton games pretty frequently. Have you noticed a different approach to coaching during games recently by Coach Mitchell. I have. Much more positive and coaching. I am all for coaching kids hard and holding them accountable. I am not all for calling a timeout and yelling at one kid for a minute telling him how bad of a shooter he is and he should never shoot the ball. That has happened numerous times in multiple games. That is not coaching.

Looks like in 3A if your school has a quality football squad, you might just have a quality baseball squad.

After watching the game last night, it was very clear that Lumberton was the more talented team than Bridge City. But that might not be saying much. Josh is doing a good job with this team. Oh, pretty sure everyone here knows who I am. lol

In addition to Sears and the Toy land, the streets in Beaumont were completely lined down and across the streets with lights put up by the city. There were very few parking lots and we usually had to walk up and down the blocks. I don’t know if anyone even locked their vehicles. There were lots of faults back then but safety was not one of them.

That’s the problem we’ve got now. The bills are so large that small percentage increases are actually big dollar amounts. It’s affecting peoples’ retirement plans. I know a young family that just bought in port Neches and their monthly tax bill comes out to $800/month on a $400k house. That’s before principal, interest, or insurance. $800/ month with 355 more payments to go, and they should expect that tax bill to double at least twice (to $3200/month) before the mortgage pays off. My $1500 tax bill 15 years ago is a $3k dollar bill now, but thanks to compounding of tax rates, you can expect that $3k bill to double in 15 more years to $6k.
