You can measure a coaches successes in many ways, by wins, championships, or in lives changed. Wins are good, Championships are great, but there is no substitute to changing a young athletes life. I’ll take a good coach who can mold a young athletes life, over a great coach that gets wins but doesn’t connect with his players.

Some of us critical thinkers told him it was a mistake “BEFORE HE DID IT”. Dollar waiting on a dime.

I watched it live when it was happening. They were climbing the fence, breaking in through windows. It was an insurrection. It was happening right before my eyes.

Anyone who agrees with him is called racist, homophobe, misogynist, liar, fascist…..yeah, I can see how being said to have TDS would be more offensive.

I spent many years managing big box stores. When I left we could confront shoplifters in store and ask them how they would like to pay for the item in their pants/purse. If they ignored us and walked out, we could not physically restrain them.,,,, I was having a bad day one evening and a guy ran from the electronics department of Service Merchandise with a bag full of radios and small things. It may have been about $500.00 worth of stuff. I decided to give chase (to this day I have o idea what I would have done had he stopped LOL)....I chased him to the end of the parking lot and he ran across the street toward some woods. As soon as I turned around a guy in a big truck asked if he was a shoplifter. I told him yes and he said I'll be right back. About 20 minutes later he showed back up with the bag......He gave me his card, he was a Company A Texas Ranger. He claimed he never got out of his truck......

With Harper back playing and the game being at the Tiger Den, I see Silsbee winning by 35+.

Titans check in at #20 this week. Big game tomorrow night at home.

He was the best thing that has ever happen to Vidor football in my memory. Always positive. Stands were always full. Personally, I didn't know the guy, but I know he was well respected all around SE Texas. You don't have to go deep in the playoffs to have an affect on these young men. God speed Coach Matthews.

chase is not tracy. the games anahuac will win this season will because of what bennett left them. anahuac will be a 3-4 place team and will be 1 and done in the playoffs.

Silsbee won by 41 at Bridge City in their first matchup, and have won every district game by at least 26 points. The Cards have been playing some solid basketball of late, but Silsbee is just on a whole other level compared to everyone else in the district. I think BC can improve on their performance from their first matchup, but still expect Silsbee to win by 30ish points.

Anahuac in my opinion has a better coach this year than last year Chase Franklin. Comes from a Baseball family. Cameron Edmonds. Probably will win every game he pitches. University of Houston signee with basically everyone returning from last season. They will be in the mix for the district championship.

Tax cuts created jobs. Were they supposed to give you a raise? How shallow. Tariffs weren’t designed to “hurt” China, just leveling the playing field. Border policies were working, especially looking at what Trump inherited. Couldn’t get bi-partisan funding for the wall, so he had to go around the dims. Please explain what Covid policies could have worked any better. Remember, Covid shut down everything but the illegals crossing the border. What infrastructure failures? What destructive environmental policies? Typical stance for lame brain Biden.

You hit the nail on the head. Mathew’s doesn’t have the trophy case all these posters do but he most definitely changed the lives of many young men.

In our District, the surprising team has got to be West Brook. They are currently tied for second. They battled BU for 3 quarters. Sure they had a slip up against Atascocita, but before the year started, I expected them to barely climbing in 4th. Disappointing team has got to be Summer Creek. They came into district ranked in the top 25 in the state and realistically was expected to cover one of the top two spots. Then they were upset by King and was beaten by WB and now their BARELY clinging to the 4th spot in district. Then they have a very good coach. This team is definitely falling short of expectations.

But when they don't, they are basically dead in the water.

Jasper better lose their (expletive) and get this fixed NOW. A lot of people perceive that place in a bad way, like it or not, and petty crap like this only makes it worse!

I see people talk about individual coaches, players, etc on these threads. Why should calling out the referee be any different? If so, why is that? Isn't that really part of the issue with the chapter really? These guys don't get held accountable for their actions? I don't want to stop a thread either but if you are a coach, you get much worse treatment than this.

6 more years of coming up short and Joseph will be in the unemployment line.
