I'm not proposing anything. I don't know that anything can be done, actually. In fact, one could argue that it was all of the things I mentioned that money buys that made it possible for kids without the God given athleticism to be competitive. It just got out of control in that direction. Suggestions? I don't have any. There will always be haves and have nots unfortunately.

Santos is an embarrassment. It’s so obvious why spend time on it. Essentially he’s a RINO. Ran as a Republican but lies like a Democrat. How he got to where he is is beyond me.

I believe EC and Ktz will be the big dawgs next year, both have some good lil ball players coming up from 8th grade that can help out and EC also has the two kids on JV that’ll eligible to play next year. Everyone else is losing a lot and not replacing with too much.

I think people need to understand that this team for kountze is 6 sophomores 2 juniors 1 freshmen the only kid with real varsity experience is Sells. the big Warren kid played about 7 mins a game last year. also the 4 teams they are battling with all have at least 6 seniors on the team. ( i still think kountze sneaks in the playoffs ) This is where the lack of consistency comes from. A year from now the district is in trouble , and 2 years from now the entire state may be in trouble at the 3a level.

These would be perfect hires for Mathews. If he hired a good coach that had instant success with this program using a different offensive strategy ,then that would prove his philosophy was wrong all along. He knows what he's doing plus all the homeboy assistants get to keep their jobs. He was below .500 doing it his way. It's time for him let it go man, he had his chance and it didn't work.

You are just trying to poke a hole in my example. Let me rephrase for YOU: Your example should compare a 5'11", 190lb "rich kid" who runs a 5.1 with a 16in. vertical, to a 6'1" 190lb "poor kid" who runs a 4.5 with a 22in. vertical. Who would you start? Happy now?

Looking at the Padilla Poll All State 4A teams, Carthage has 15 players on the 1st and 2nd team offense and defense. 15 out of 44 players. If that is a true indication, then Surratt's X's and O's are not what has Carthage winning.

Terry has shown he can coach. I think the bigger question is can he construct a roster in this transfer portal era where HS recruits aren't #1 priority anymore. Beard absolutely hit the jackpot with the roster he constructed at Texas this season like he did at TTech countless times. Highschool recruiting is a 2nd thought now and days. Think im wrong look at the top 10 teams in recruiting last season (2022) and now look at the top 10 coaches poll, only two teams (Tenn & KU) and with KU losing they may not be top 10 come Monday. Is all about how you construct rosters. Look at Vilanova, Jay Wright could construct rosters with the best of them. Only thing is the only way Texas finds out if Terry can out together rosters is after a contract is done. Hey maybe Terry might be that Tom Izzo that goes from assistant to head and has great success

2008 we lost 2 district games both on road 2009 lost 1 district game on road. I played for kountze from 06-09, the talent level definetly dropped after the state championship in 07. But we were still pretty good, ran into a tough New Waverly team those years in the playoffs.

Silsbee beat both these teams in the playoffs last year. No reason why they can't do it this year. Going to be tough but I like the Tigers chances.

I would like those coach Mitchell fans to explain to me how a team for holding the ball for 6 minutes in 1 quarter while losing by 6-8 is great coaching.

Democratic math. Unemployment is how many people are looking for work. It doesn’t include people who aren’t working and aren’t looking. So the spin is that this “lowest unemployment” is not how many people are working as it doesn’t include the people who have simply given up. The percentage of people working today is about 3.5% less than were G Bush left office. So a smaller percentage of the population is working and that is claimed as “lowest since” unemployment. So when people quit working, it is claimed as proof of prosperity.

I just hope Vidor gets a good Coach. Regardless of the offense - spread, Slot T, Wishbone, doesn’t matter. Just get the kids mentally thinking they’re unbeatable, and can win every game. Do that and you’ll be Coach of the Year.

Throwing my hat in the ring, I want to be the next head ball coach at Vidor. We will be running the Spread T, maybe I can get MTM to be my offensive coordinator and MTC to be my defensive coordinator. No but in all seriousness, I hate to see Coach MTW go but I’m sure he’s had enough and ready to move on to another chapter. Wish him the best at BSN, that’s a sports apparel and equipment company correct?
