Crueders the one that forever changed the offense from methodical to unmethodical. At least DuBois could actually fix what Crueder and Trahan broke !

Realignment has a great deal to do with which teams will be one of the four to make the playoffs. Adding Orangefield to the mix made it much more difficult to secure that last spot in this district.

They're ranked No. 2. and that must mean something. They haven't lost a game since November. That was to 4A Washington, a quality team but one I'm sure they'd like back. Shouldn't have happened.

Once again I never said a bad word about coach Wilson. Any coach that hoots like an owl to call his defense I can get behind. My comment was more towards the school board and others that did run a great coach off. Maybe they learned their lesson and will keep this guy around 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Knox34 we have had some characters on our board that too often are in it for their specific family. However, I do not think they had the power to run off Coach Whitmire. They may have talked some trash but everyone that matters around here knows he is a good coach and man. Remember our girls coach left as well who was is a good coach and man, it may have done less with the board and more with who the AD was.

Buna is having to play in an always tough district where each night anyone could beat anyone. Coach Whitmire did a great job here in Buna but he decided to leave on his own. Talked to him this past summer and he said he wanted something new. 2013/2014 season was the last time we haven't made it and I believe the next year we started getting Connells in the program. I do not know who we will miss more, Whitmire or Connells after the youngest one graduates this year.

PN-G is playing a play in game for 4th seed Friday night at Dayton vs. Goose Creek Memorial. I would say they have something to play for.

They both are retired. From my understanding, Vidor ISD is ready to do the "retire, rehire" for one of them. Cost the district a little more money to do this. A retiree can go back to work as long as he/she sits out a school year. I believe that is why Mathews is staying on until June. It will be a year then.

The Dims are terrified of DeSantis. He is young but not too young, leads a very successful Red state, articulate, well groomed and does not have a creepy factor like some of the others do. DeSantis is a professional, a veteran (decorated Naval officer) and family man. Just for the matter of accuracy, it wasn't Vidor who pushed Jasper to OT in that tourney game. Vidor had a 25 point lead at one time in that game and led the entire game right up to the final 45 seconds. Jasper is the one that sent the game to overtime. Vidor really had no business losing that game. I will say they have probably digressed the most of all the teams in the district from the first of the season.

Idk about Carthage but just from my experience with Aledo, I agree with bigdog part of it is luck. Staying healthy, being in Region 1, good teams have a down year (Denton Ryan), a couple of plays go your way (Longview). Having said all that Aledo has a great coaching staff, kids that work extremely hard, parents that allow their kids to be coached hard, community support, excellent culture of competition, families that move in to the Fort Worth area but decide to put their kid in Aledo, great athletic facilities, a history of making deep playoff runs, and expectation.

Clowns like that are going ensure we end up with a shot clock in HS basketball.

Rice played a good game last night. He was aggressive with the ball and has good fundamentals. In my opinion, the most improved player on the team from the beginning of the season.

Big win for the Raiders who just locked up 3rd place and a date with Hamshire Fannett or less likely HJ. If they play that whole game like they the first half against Silsbee last Tuesday the Raiders have a shot at the second round. Bridge city will meet Jasper on Friday to decide 4th place in the district. They'll have to play better than this to win but they can do it.

Well I’m assuming I’m the school board member that you are referring to. I can guarantee you that Mr. Whitmire employment was never discussed from 2018-22. Hard to miss the playoffs when they take 4 teams. Buna had some talented teams from 2013- now, I’m sure I could have made the playoffs with them and I don’t know shit about basketball.
