Fantastic season for United! That’s an incredible achievement to move up to 6A and make it to the state championship. Hard to not feel like BU had a real chance to win this one. Their execution and shooting in the 2nd half killed them. That said, LH got away with at least three goaltends, and I can’t ever remember a game where every single close block/charge call went the way of one team, but it was that way tonight, on close to ten calls.

You didn't get the results you wanted tonight but look at the body of work BU has over these past 3 years. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Wasn't blown away by LH. United just played sloppy.

I agree. Strake petitioned to play UIL and were told they had to play 6A even though they have a 4A-5A enrollment. Faith Family should be required to do the same.

Our defense is playing well. Work harder on rebounding and my God, no silly turnovers. We’re shouting free throws well, so that’s a plus. But they did miss that goaltending.

If I was a coach, I’d double the 5 star player. Makes sense. Never allow the opponent’s best player to beat you. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. You still have to make the effort.

I realize I am just an arm chair coach, but…I think BTW should have gone straight at FF by pounding it in against their big guy. It might have worked. It could have back fired also. It is a better strategy than starting the game pressing and shooting long balls. Get big dude for FF in trouble then work on Toppin. Too late for all that now though.

For me, Johnson is the best player I’ve seen in Texas HSBB right now and that includes Ron Holland (top ranked 2023 kid in the state). For those who aren’t convinced, maybe you will be during his NBA career.

Year 2 will be very interesting. 2 things have to happen. Kids have to be learning the system. System has to be learning the kids. Coaches had their rookie learning curve. Now they know what didn't work. Should be easy.

It is a buddy system hire but he will do better than Mathews. He was the one responsible for Mathews most successful seasons. Mathews would never recommend a great coach because it would give the fans something to compare his career to. Control Freak !! Just a small bit of information for those who believed this would last forever. All it would take for WOS to lose this distinction is 11 games. WOS goes 0-11 and SLC goes 11-0. I don't think that's about to happen anytime soon. But it just shows how tight this race is becoming. The peak was after the 40 game win streak.
