Yeah if they were going to hire someone with no HC experience, they have one on staff who has been an OF kid all his life and coaching basketball at various levels there. One thing about it, Smalley has proven himself to be as good an AD as a football coach and he’s one heckuva of a football coach in my opinion. He truly cares and supports ALL the sports, boys and girls. They have had an incredible year winning district championships in boys and girls sports and sending multiple kids to state in individual sports. Just like with Jake, Erickson, Ragsdales, and many others we could name, I’m sure he will hire the right guy.

Imo it’s No Different than Beer,Wine and Whiskey. I used it in my younger years but have no to desire to do so anymore. I believe I’ve smoked enough weed and drank enough alcohol to last a lifetime. I wake up some mornings an drink a cold glass water an feel like I am still buzzing from all the partying I did over 20 years ago. Lol. To each his own.

I know they are playing here on Saturday. Not sure why.

Very few coaches are looking to take a job with unrealistic expectations and instructions on how the team should play before taking the job. If that’s going on now what happens when he takes over the team? Could be a constant battle. Might be in teams best interest to keep that to a minimum 🤷🏻‍♂️

From the law… Sec. 22.01. ASSAULT. (a) A person commits an offense if the person: (1) intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causes bodily injury to another, including the person's spouse; This is misdemeanor assault or assault with an injury (bruise, pain, etc.). Notice that it only requires to prove the injury was caused by being reckless. Next is Aggravated Assault….. Sec. 22.02. AGGRAVATED ASSAULT. (a) A person commits an offense if the person commits assault as defined in Sec. 22.01 and the person: (1) causes serious bodily injury to another, including the person's spouse; or (2) uses or exhibits a deadly weapon during the commission of the assault. First a person must commit an Assault as defined in 22.01 which is to intentionally or knowingly OR recklessly causing injury. Then it becomes aggravated by either causing serious bodily injury OR using a deadly weapon. A firearm by Texas law is the only item specifically listed as a deadly weapon. Other things “could be”, depending on how used, which requires proof. A firearm requires no proof and just is a deadly weapon. "Deadly weapon" means: (A) a firearm or anything manifestly designed, made, or adapted for the purpose of inflicting death or serious bodily injury;

The coaches I've talked to that have 4-day weeks have had no issue with being off Friday.....kids get to school around lunch, usually they eat lunch, watch a little film, do a quick walk-thru and then get on the bus

Not sure. I’ve wondered the same. The new subdivisions seem to be a lot of younger families. So, may not impact HS numbers for a while. Have no idea how these younger people are affording the homes ($350-$500+) plus the cost of home/flood insurance now—if they can even get coverage. Don’t know about y’all over there, but unless you’re grandfathered in like us, you have few carriers that will insure & you have to get wind and hail separate from the state. It’s crazy. Funny thing is, we usually do better during storms than much of the rest of GHA because of strict building/drainage codes. But, we get hammered as being a ‘bay’ community & still in Harris County with Houston that floods like everyone knows any time there’s a little sprinkle.

When that was first mentioned during the season. I reached out to let him know we would be posting all local scores here. He was unaware of our site and thanked me for bring it to his attention. I assumed he would be checking scores. Liberty is ranked #2 in 4A by maxpreps. For what it's worth. Also shows national ranked #2 Barbers Hill, right behind #1 Montgomery Lake Creek.

If the players do not believe in what you are doing as a Head Coach things do not work. The players have to buy into what your are selling. Hands down they have some of the best athletes in the state. Their down fail now is politics. When you play that the kids suffer.
