I see no Heckamen on last year's roster. If you are referencing the Heckamen that played quarterback 2 years ago, he was at New Mexico State last year and is now listed as RS- Freshman TE on UTEPS's roster. Hang in there "Coach on a Mobile."2 points -
I had no idea either. RIP to he and his wife. It's easy to think these screen names will always be around. It's good to remember there are frail, fragile human lives on the other end and we all have end dates. Praying for peace for Hagars family.2 points

2023 Pick 'ems - Weekly Results/Discussion
TrojanMoJo reacted to WOSdrummer99 for a topic
Step right up ladies and gentlemen. The 2023 WOSgrad Pick'ems competition will begin soon. Everyone is welcome to compete. It's a 17 week battle with no bye week. I plan to only have Friday night games. But with the talk of official shortages already these games may change to Thursday or Saturday. Keep a close eye on the Lock Times each week. I'll make an announcement here if I'm moving the times up. And if you find yourself not making the deadline. Send me a PM with your picks and I'll count the games that haven't been played. Hopefully that means "NO FREEBIES". Last year we had a total of 7, with only 8 pts separating the top 5. Also if anyone notices a mistake please let me know as soon as possible. Looking forward to another year with a local team finishing up at AT&T. Good luck to all fans and teams this season.1 point -
RIP Hagar
thetragichippy reacted to TxHoops for a topic
It is with great sadness I report that Hagar passed last night. He had been battling cancer for some time, along with his wife of 55 years. She passed less than 2 months ago, and our buddy just joined her. He missed her dearly, obviously, and was surely overjoyed to join her. He had just gotten a positive report but developed an infection this week his body couldn’t fight off. His daughter reports that he passed peacefully in the night. Hagar was someone we all enjoyed posting, and he was a great friend. I met him through this message board, and was blessed to develop a friendship over the past several years. I debated where to post this (either here, the football board, or the Locker Room), but I feel like this is the one where he posted and enjoyed the most. He will be deeply missed. Prayers for his beloved son, daughter and grandchildren. As you can imagine, he was very proud of them and an incredible dad and grandad to them all.1 point -

I may decide to go to this one since I'll be in Silsbee next weekend instead of the beach. But I also will see HF the next week when they play EC in Rice Bowl. Had planned on going to WO-S at Nederland. With that said, if Lumberton is fully healthy, then Raiders by 4.1 point -
Kville teacher: trying it in a small town
5GallonBucket reacted to bullets13 for a topic
Not sure how society can choose not to allow people to live certain ways without legislation. I’m with you on not having it shoved in my face. I’m also with you on certain behaviors being allowed that shouldn’t be. I don’t care if some guy wants to wear a dress, but I take major exception to full frontal nudity in front of kids in pride parades. How that’s allowed is beyond my comprehension. I don’t need to tell you that you and I have different thresholds of what we’re okay with and what we’re not, but we’re not as far from each other on the Kirbyville issue as you might think. In fact, it’s safe to say we’re in agreement. When I say it won’t fly there but will somewhere else, that’s not me saying it’s okay somewhere else.1 point -
Point taken. My limit is as long as it doesn’t hurt somebody else. Can someone teaching completely nude hurt someone? Undoubtedly. Does a man fully clothed in a dress teaching hurt someone? Probably not, but I don’t think that’s a discussion someone should be able to force on parents. It’s obviously a difficult subject1 point

Prayers for a safe season for all these student athletes and all supporting organizations as well. Let's not forget, without the trainers, cheerleaders, and bands 🥁. Friday night lights just wouldn't be the same.1 point -
Crosby 2023
Bud Kilmer reacted to Concerned Citizen for a topic
Crosby culture just can't get out of its own way, daddy ball 2.0.... I got it, I know what you may say.... But when the asst AD son is starting at WR as a SOPH, that's daddy ball esp when you have other capable athletes. Varsity FB is tough for underclassmen very few perform good on that level as a 10th grader. Even that state run 2021 class, many of those kids didn't make a mark until their 11 and 12 grade years.1 point -

Being a 6A school playing in arguably the toughest district in the state, please tell me what does Westbrook get out of playing a terrible 5A school? I honestly feel bad for what’s about to happen to WB in district play, there needs to be a purge of coaches & admin in BISD. No way football in Beaumont should be this bad.1 point -

Kville teacher: trying it in a small town
5GallonBucket reacted to tvc184 for a topic
Not if you include the rest of the sentence. “it will slowly become normalized and desensitized just like” changes the meaning While technically anything can go either way, 5GB’s statement was about abhorrent behavior being normalized to the point and desensitizing people so people ignore it rather than argue. To say, those that think differently are extremist, would certainly work both ways. That isn’t what was said though. What from the conservative perspective is abhorrent behavior that is trying to desensitize people? Voter ID? Free enterprise? Not burning cities because you don’t agree? Lower taxes? In fact most conservative issues today would be considered normal 40 years ago by both sides of the aisle.1 point -

1motime reacted to navydawg31 for a topic
You are basing the bulldogs season on 1 scrimmage. The very first one at that. You can’t win a scrimmage. Most head coaches go into a scrimmage with what targeted work they wanna work on. Let the Dogs play! One thing that you keep saying every few post is if they can’t beat WOS it’s going to be a long season. 2-8 or 3-7… Last Year PNG got man handled at home against PA then made a run to State… I am not saying the Dogs are going to make a run to state but I am saying it’s a long season, you can’t give up on them after 1 scrimmage, 1 non district game…1 point -
