I would like to wish everyone's favorite teams the best of luck this season and offer a prayer of health for each kiddo out there giving it their all. This goes out to the players, band, cheerleaders, prep-squads, and all involved. Ill be pulling for all of our local teams and the SETXSPORTS coverage area. Good luck everyone from the Indians of PN-G. Be who he is. I ll assume there are many factors that went in to Putin s choice to invade Ukraine but the biggest factor as far as “when”……Biden getting elected….. Putin knew Biden was weak so putin started planning when biden won. 1 year after biden took office “BOOM” Taiwan is next. there are other ways to influence foreign leaders and their decisions without going to war and that is what Trump did.

Hmmmmmm....... You can only have so many broadcast booths. Normally a press box has two. I would think one would go to KLVI (been doing Nederland games for decades) and the other would go to the visitor team if they have a broadcast entity. Also, since Texan Live is doing the game, I have to think that TL paid Nederland ISD for the streaming rights. With those rights comes with exclusive video broadcast rights. I'm not sure this is the case, but I am very familiar with press box space and how it is sometimes very hard to come by. I'll be interested to see how many Nederland games TL does this season.

Joe Cauthen, who's the DC at Utah State now, gave me an opportunity to be a GA. Just couldn't see the benefit in working for free at that time. I often wonder what could've been? Crosby alum Aston Walter went the GA route and is now the assistant RB coach at Tennessee. Probably going to making north of $300k once he loses the assistant title, rather that be at Tennessee or some other school.

Crosby...nah. SETX is up on the map when WOS, Newton, PNG, Nederland, and Jasper are winning.

The year they beat La Marque was pleasant. Shutdown the site damn near during that playoff run.

When Crosby is winning I think that it leads to everyone else getting interested because either A) they like to support the region (PNG, PAM, Beaumont Fans) or They really hate Crosby (Vidor, BH, Nederland, used to be Dayton.) So i'd be willing to bet that Crosby being good does wonders for the engagement levels of this website at the very least.

From my understanding, the middle box is for PA, scoreboard operator, timer and print media/scouts/admins. The other two boxes are for each teams coaching staffs and each team has a broadcast booth. It has always been a problem when the home team wants to have two broadcasts (in this case KLVI and Sheffield/Texan Live). If the visiting team has it's own broadcast entity, then that's where the space availability becomes a problem. There have been situations where the home team basically says "screw the visitor broadcast" and gives the space to both home broadcasts. But the problem with that is when the home team has to return to that visitor's stadium and they aren't given the space to work in. I have personally seen this happen. Since the video streaming started several years ago, this has been a problem in lot's of press boxes when the home team has two different broadcast entities. Combining the two entities is most times not doable because each entity has it's own sponsors to run during commercial breaks. It works sometimes, but not mostly. In Sheffield's case, I'm thinking he couldn't get a spot around the 50 yard line to have a good camera angle to do the game properly. I'm told that middle box is not for broadcasting. Be curious to see the camera angle for TL.

Not a Memorial issue, that whole stadium thing dates way back to when it was built and who it was originally built for. PAISD should have an "on-campus stadium" for Memorial IMO.

Bridge City just lost to PNG in pool play. Looks like PNG will FINALLY be moving up in the local ranking like they should.

They are necessary, no one is saying otherwise. What is being said is that if you choose to get one, you should be responsible for paying for it and that burden shouldn’t be passed onto those that received no benefit from the degree.

I get it. They should have cut out some schools and combined like PNG did. Next bond will be more piece milled and trying to match old construction. One of the main people fighting to keep all 4 elementaries for historic reasons, pulled their kids from the district and currently go to school out of state. I just don’t agree with how it was done. Also they have used almost every bit of land they had available at the elementaries. How are they going to tear down the old schools and build new when they have no land left? What do you do with the kids in the 2-3 years it takes to build new?

I don’t see Central being torn down and replaced.. but I can say 100% for sure CO Wilson will be torn down and replaced 1 day… I still think they did it wrong by building a new HS instead of the elementary route… but that’s just my opinion. I mean hell the new HS will be smaller than the current one so we will be piecing that one together in the future too.

Even if it is a scrimmage, holding Orangefield to 40 rushing yards on 34 carries is impressive.

I don’t really care about the press box, but the schools look like crap. Piece milled together and none of it matches or flows. Yes it’s better than it was, but still a short sighted attempt to do something instead of doing it right. I was blown away this week walking into Port Neches Intermediate. It’s truly state of the art. PNG tore down 6 schools and built 4 brand new. I know they have a bigger tax base, but they spend money the right way thinking ahead for the future. I still don’t wear purple, but I’m thankful my kids do.

U of C may have something to say about that. But I hope Silsbee gets the chance. Tired of people asking if Silsbee ever made it that far. 😆
