I guess I missed this because I was busy with Legislature-related duties at the time. I had no idea until a few moments ago. Even though I never met him in person, I always enjoyed bantering with Hagar here. I always got the sense he was one of the most levelheaded posters on the site. I’ll miss reading what he has to say. Belatedly, my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

What you're going to start seeing more of is families moving their student-athlete kids out of BISD after their 8th grade year is over to avoid all that paperwork mess.

West Brook coaches are the reasons parents are sending their kids to Kelly. Langston has signed leaving for athletic reasons on all kids that transfer out. WB has kids playing at damn near all the surrounding area schools with most of them having to play JV because of Langston not signing off on their paperwork.

I agree. Looks like well over an acre of green space around the stadium that could be used as parking. But once again this is a reminder that no1 owns their own land. Speaking of anniversaries: 2025 will be the 100th year of PNG and Nederland playing. That year, we played twice. A piece of me thinks it would be cool if we played twice in 2025 (preseason and regular) as a part of commemorating the century mark.

Just talked to Drelons dad. Coach Prime will not be at the game. Colorado WR coach will be there.

At 9am this morning tickets went on sale to the PNG Season Ticket Holders for Mid County Madness. At 11:40am the entire reserved seat side was sold out. Student tickets are on sale at schools for that small section. Indian Fans are ramping up early for MCM. We just have a different Green & Gold Indian team to take care of before we see those Dogs!🏈😁

There is no such rule. I have seen many teams bring JV players up for the playoffs and some get in late in blowout games.

😁 I actually take that as a compliment i was raised old school on a small farm with daily farm chores. Dad was a brick mason and on weekend side jobs I was tagging along at 8 years old being his labor. when it came to sports I was raised and taught Defense leads to offense….. let just say I’m gritty. oh and to be exact I’m 43 today.

Imo it's been the constant flow of youth away from Orange. Kids that can get away to go to college don't come back. And if they do, they don't go back to the neighborhoods they grew up in. They buy homes in LCM, OF, or BC. It's the reason I have a classmate on the school board at OF. And several teach at other districts in OC. Many of the names I see at other schools are kids of WOS alumni. We have former players that coach at other districts in state and out. Graduates becoming HS principals, not back home where they could actually make the difference. But in more affluent areas where you can still get a steak after 9pm and pizza delivered until 3am. Comfort, convenience and job opportunities abound in places like Katy and Spring. So how many of them wanna come back to Orange to witness this small town politics that has taken over our schools? Close to none. I can only think of one that hopefully still has a return home targeted for his future. 🤞🙏🧢 112%
