  1. Nederland did not sit at home in 1999 playoffs? They was Co-district champs. They lost to eventual state champions Texas City in the quarterfinals. Nederland made the playoffs every year from 1996-2006 2007 season they didn’t then started a streak again.. Without digging too much I think since 1996 Nederland has not qualified for the playoffs you can count on 1 hand…

  2. He was cleared 2 weeks ago to my knowledge, probably just being safe with him. I look for him to play, in what capacity remains to be seen. I’d assume he would be in for the jumbo sets at QB like last season. Connor Bailey has been playing great since Shea went down in week 3. I predict you’ll see them use him similar to last season. 80/20 split from WR to QB.

  3. Bellvillesports.com has a instagram account that has several highlights of the Brahmas this season for anyone that wants to see them. If Texan live isn’t doing this game then Bellvillesports.com will have a free video stream of this game as well.

  7. Yeah but little Tommy ain't calling them plays that ain't working. Ain't what you described called Coaching. That's what they should be doing. Line them up right. Be able to see your weaknesses just like the opponent coaches see and correct it.

  8. I am hoping for a WOS win for the players. I am also hoping for a loss for the WOS coaches. Win or lose it is time for a change at WOS. For the players, fan base, and supporters. WOS in a close one but goes down 35-24.

  10. The good folk at PNG might say Coaching can turn a program around in 1 season.

  11. I haven't watched any film of them, but from their scores you can definitely tell they know how to score. Weather forecast is not looking good for Thursday. Hopefully if it stays that way, they will reschedule before everyone travels that way.

  12. Well Bellville probably should win this game by 3-4 TD’s on paper. But WOS is usually quite the dog fight for them. Last year. A 5-5 WOS team gave them all they could handle. So here we go again: 5-5 vs. 10-0. I’ll take Bellville, but not by much.

  13. West Orange missed the playoffs in 1999 with a 7-3 record and in 2002 and 2003 with an 8-2 record. Nederland has only missed the playoffs since 1993 five times: in 1994,1995,2016,2021 and 2022.

  14. Brenham can put some points on the board and will probably stay in this one. PNG will need to ignore the 5-5 record and come to play. I’ll take PNG 38-27.

  16. Jacob Collins, 2017-2018. Ole lefty. He was a LB with a QB arm. Could make every kind of throw with accuracy and a punishing runner, hard to bring down. One of the best under Smith.

  18. Nederland could keep it close. If they can win in the trenches and control TOP they have a shot. If Lake Creek looks at the record and thinks they have it in the bag, they may be in trouble. Remember last season when they were blowing people out until the met FBM and were humbled real quick. Different areas of the state play different brands of football. Hit ‘em in the mouth Dogs

  20. Unfortunately, I hate to say this, but I think the end result of this game will show the fallacy of 4 teams in the playoffs. The playoffs used to be something of pride. Now for the first and second place teams it still is. Why did they go to 3 and 4? Is it playoff money for schools? The touchy-feely thought of working towards "everybody gets a participation ribbon?" I tend to lean towards the former. If it's the latter, why not allow all the teams to make the playoffs? Come close the circle and complete the joke! Ned beating all the weak teams to gain a "playoff" spot, really, is this a badge of honor? If you end up getting embarrassed because you really shouldn't be there, where's the honor? Concerning this, being the tallest midget in the room doesn't help much! I'm more concerned with the UIL changing this so not to put teams like this in an bad situation. I've seen 2-8 and 3-7 teams make the playoffs. Really?! Thoughts?!

  21. As a Bellville fan…. I’d say your Jumping it a ton… I’ve watched every Bellville game and I’m still curious how this week will go vs WOS… IMO we just haven’t played anyone that will punch us in the mouth. If Bellville made it past the third round I would honestly be very surprised and I’m just being blunt… Now if we come out and beat WOS by 3-4 TDs I’ll be a little more confident after that but I don’t think that will be the case. As far as Carthage goes you would be better off thinking about Silsbee or Cuero 😂😂

  22. I know since 2008 they have made it to the third round twice… 2018-19 lost to Liberty Hill 21-35 and 2020-21 lost to China Spring 13-31

  24. A play getting blown up is a missed assignment. PAM lost two games this season and that is a good season. Parents blaming coaches make for a toxic culture. We win together and we lose together.

  26. Columbus is something this year for sure… Yeah they got a QB that’s committed to Baylor and a damn good RB… but I think their O line is the best unit on that team. But as far as this game goes Woodville should take care of business

  31. If mc north has a good offensive scheme I’d say BH45 MC N-42 game is at BH so long bus ride and terrible officiating will be going against MCN. Good luck to both teams.

  32. Well I hoped that they would have ended this season on a good note. That didn’t happen. TC has a good team but a focused opponent and coaching staff would have made this a lot better game. That’s all I have to say.

  33. Thought BC and OF both looked good against HJ. Didn’t see any of the BC/OF one. HJ missing its top 5 or 5 of its top 6 guys. #20 from BC I really liked and they had a scrappy group. I know they were missing a couple as well, one of which apparently may not play this year who has some size. OF has a couple of key kids still in football too but they are better and deeper than I realized. The scales kid may have been the best player in the gym today. Kid can go.

  36. Chester v. Medina (Funky Cold), TBA. I had to look it up, Medina is SW of Fredericksburg. They are 9-1 and won their district. Wow, safe to say this one will involve travel for both teams.

  39. Foster is a really good team, that should not have been a 2nd round matchup while FW and Manvel had cakewalks the the first two rounds. The regions really need to seed the tournament vs this predetermined district matchup crap they do now which is just easy on UIL. The good news is the Eagles played well and put it way in 4 after being up 2-0. As others have said, that experience should bode well in tight situations. BH has beaten Friendswood back in August so they know they can do it again. It is time to break through the 3rd round barrier for this group. In the last two weeks, wins over Clear Springs who is also in the regional 6A qtrs and that Foster team were great tests.

  43. Yup, playoff time boys. Our matchups aren’t too bad going into the 1st round. I can still see a split and if PAM can get focused giving Forney hell. Goodluck to everyone

  44. Well…….regular season is over and I hate to end it on a loss but now I’m a fan of La Porte, PAM, and Porter. We have TONS of talent in this district. I really hope we can all get it to together and make a run. I’m sick of the same teams going deep every year.

  45. Not a popular opinion amongst those who post a lot, but LP has actually been the most consistent team in 8-5A all year. Nothing flashy. Just steady. A throwback to the old LP as I’ve stated multiple times. They didn’t even settle on a QB until Week 5/6, and have also had their share of injuries and players out as did other district teams. Still, they just steadily plugged along. All this without having a ‘true’ home game all year. I consider that fairly impressive in itself. (Not sure where this first round PO game will be either since we don’t have a home field right now.) Until 2017–and a string of multiple coaches that didn’t work out, new district leadership, and other changes—La Porte was a PO team for basically 30 years straight. (Even as typically the smallest school in whichever district they were placed.) Teams always knew—win or lose—they were in for a ‘dog fight’ when they matched up with La Porte. This group of young men have never known the PO’s. So, we’ll see how they fare. But, I’m sure the staff will have them as ready to play as possible. Good Luck to all the 8-5A PO teams. I’ll be rooting for all.

  48. In order for Orangefield to even make this a game they will need to find 11 players that want to be there, and the coaches will need to get over the "Its the seniors last game" and play the best 11 players on both side of the ball. Otherwise Woodville by 30.

  49. Seen Jasper twice and Silsbee three times this season. Want to see other teams. This particular game has a little bit riding on it so I chose this one. I thought about going to Lovelady for Deweyville game but decided I didn't want to drive that far. My grandson has a pee wee football game tomorrow morning at 8am in Orange.
