  2. No disrespect but the Injuns win this handily. Good luck to both teams....

  3. I know without question you say this is in gest but for those who are unaware, there is no such thing. I hate the word "literally" because it is misused so frequently but the use of fentanyl and playing Russian Roulette are very close to the same thing,

  9. I don't know of anyone from LH that walked out of the stadium last year believing the outcome would have been significantly different if Noah Long and Joe Pitchford weren't injured. PNG out played us, out coached us and the fans out spirited us. Hell, even the band was better. LH has already overachieved many fan's expectations this year. Our offensive production is down this year and our pass defense is actually worse than last year. What this team lacks in size, elusive speed and elite talent, we make up for in heart and relentless tenacity (at times). Many LH fans want to move away from the Slot-T but I believe this scheme is the primary reason why we consistently make deep runs into the playoffs. Keep an eye on the 165lb Noseguard (#44) because he is fun to watch. That kid has a motor like no other and MAY get home a couple times if the O-line gets caught sleepin'. Good luck PNG fans! I hope the game is competitive, injury free and everyone leaves it all out there on the field. Regardless of the outcome, I'll be in Arlington next week watching a full day of football with my son who will hopefully be playing in this game next year!

  10. Not in the long run - But it highlights how bad the officiating was, not just on that drive, but perhaps throughout the game. The refs made a lot of calls against Huntsville too, and it made me think the refs were trying way too hard to make the game about them. They were inconsistent.

  12. Maybe when someone says I can't breathe you take your knee off their neck. I can just about guarantee that there are untold numbers of cops that would have produced a different outcome if they had come up on the scene. He was a bad cop with a bad history that came on the scene and was gonna show the younger cops how it's done. Apparently, a jury of his peers looked at the evidence and agreed. Floyd would have likely died at a later date due to his lifestyle but I don't believe it would have been that day except for the action of Chauvin. I'm a huge supporter of the cops but they need to police their own and get rid of trash like this. He should have never still been in uniform.

  15. Good Luck to y'all also and Thanks for a classy post ! I've no illusions on how this game could and may turn out , but LH teams have surprised me in this past and I'll root for them to do just that this game and like I've said before however this game turns out I'll root for the team tht makes it to Dallas .

  18. Oh I knew. That post wasn’t made for you. I probably did a poor job of making a point but was trying to point out that “trace amounts” when it comes to fentanyl can be deadly amounts.

  19. If they're hired as the heir apparent, then it won't matter. Go in as an assistant, learn about the kids you have, get a feel for the community and the school board and hit the ground running after the current AD/HC is gone.

  20. Was that on the penalty drive for Huntsville?

  21. I agree and it was in jest, it was pointing out that Big girl said there were only trace amounts in his system, as if that was ok.

  23. I don’t think it will be a blowout like Leander. LH isn’t going to be caught by surprise like last year. They know who we are now. And, I think they have made some adjustments on offense that make them a little more versatile. I wish PNG ran some of their run plays along with our passing game - We’d be that much harder to stop. So I think LH will move the ball on us, but I don’t think they’ll be able to do it as consistently as they need to. I’m thinking they score between 21-28 points. If we overperform we hold them to 7-14. The biggest problem will be that PNG will move the ball more consistently than them because I think we’ll have a fairly reliable 4-5 yards before contact on a lot of our run plays. It looks like LH has a pretty competent secondary, and they’re hunting interceptions. PNG won’t make the mistake Pieper made and throw it around a bunch. We’ll dare you to stop the run, but where we see opportunities, we have a capable passing game. Huntsville let us get them into single-man coverage with the safety up in the box once and it led to a 55-yard touchdown pass. It’s going to be a tough, good game. I predict something closer than last year, maybe in the 35/28-14/21 range. I’m having trouble gauging how good LH’s defense is, but I don’t see them as being as big or as physical as Huntsville’s defense. So, I don’t think LH will keep us from scoring at least 28, and I’d be comfortable betting we score at least 30. Can LH find 31 points? We’ll see. Good luck to ya’ll, in any case.

  25. SOC is not anywhere near the same team from a Div 1 talent perspective as last year's team but that doesn't mean they are not just as good. Their highest rated player this year is a 3 star committed to SMU, but also a player who I can't find on any roster. They will have talent but not the 4 and 5 stars they did last year.

  29. Agree, I said the same thing when it happened. Floyd was an addict and had problems but Chauvin had a history of bad behavior and there’s no doubt in my mind Floyd would not have died THAT day if he hadn’t had a knee on his neck for a prolonged period of time. It’s just a shame that everything has to be about race and as you pointed out and I have in the past as well, the race hustlers only appear in situations like this and don’t care about the real issues that are responsible for many more deaths among young black men.

  30. There was a time when Silsbee would schedule softer teams before district. They'd play Kelly, Beaumont Legacy, East Chambers, Kirbyville, etc. Think they even played Hardin one year. They did make state a year or two during that era, but never won anything. They also went home a little too early for my taste a few times. I'd prefer it if they challenge themselves before district, even if they bite off more than they can chew sometimes.

  32. Silsbee has NEVER shied away from bigger schools. 409, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas. And more often than not, held their own and won more than a few. Iron sharpens iron. I wouldn’t be comfortable telling Joe Sigler how to put together his schedules. His results have spoken for themselves. It may not be for everyone, but I think it would be a bit foolish to say it hasn’t been a successful formula for Silsbee.

  33. He meant they get run by that other team in the 409…. In fairness, as they should.

  37. The LH Oline might have one kid bigger than our Outside Linebackers. I just dont see how they will block our D-Line. I know the maddening movement of their offense is supposed to level the field but last year our D Coordinator made their offense look like a cheap version of Vidor's. (no offense to Vidor). PN-G needs two stops on defense. LH will not stop the offense. We play a clean game and we might score 50+. I never get overconfident about any game but I will say this might be the most favorable matchup we have had yet in the playoffs this year.

  44. Howdy from Liberty Hill ! Come over to talk to you fine people from the East of our great state of Texas . Enjoyed the talks last yr . Reading on here this year looks like y'all done kicked the scat out of us before the young men have evern taken the field . I understand what LH is up against but the boys like to play football and win or lose that doesn't change from year to year . It's been a tuff yr for the Panthers injury wise but they got some players back just in time to run the table over here in region 4 . Yeah the defense is had to grow up a lot this yr . They getting better but having said that it's going to be a tuff row to hoe this week . But here's to a gd game for both teams with no injuries . For sure the winner of this game it's going to need all hands on deck for the big game and for sure I'll be pulling for the winner either way our game turns out . Sorry for the long post , I'll try to keep future post shorter .... LHFan80

  45. The days of having 30k fans at a state semi-final are over...gen z unless they have a friend or family member playing could care less about going to watch high school football...that and the advent of live streaming services has taken many fans from the seats and placed them at home
