  1. Only real mismatch out of the 13 games were the Hardin-Jefferson/Peabody, Orangefield/Fairview and Summer Creek/Capitol games. Even though a couple of the games ended up blow outs (Kountze, Barbers Hill) those two games were still very competitive games throughout. One thing that stood out to me yesterday, the Texas teams had much much better guard play than the Louisiana teams, minus the Avoyelles Charter team. They had two very good guards. One in particular. I would put him as one of the best I have seen play this year. If I remember correctly, I believe it was a pretty even split last year between the two states. In fact, Fairview beat Orangefield last year. I think it's worth it. Let's the kids play in an arena style setting. I hope it continues.

  2. Nothing in football or life is guaranteed. That being said, I think PN-G has the best chance to go to state of any team that will or may be in 5ADII Region 3 during the 2024 season. History repeating itself has been a running theme for the Indians the last two seasons. I might point out that, with the exception of 1999, whenever the Indians have gone to state, they’ve made multiple trips over a short period of time. In particular, this season saw the Indians’ second consecutive title game appearance. The only other time in PN-G history the Indians have made consecutive championship appearances, they went to three title games in a row. All that’s to say, I like our odds. 😎

  3. I guess the fact they had 1 net yard of offense from the 3:30 mark in the 3rd till the end of the game had nothing to do with why they lost. Teams like that will blame everyone else before holding themselves accountable

  5. Todd is a polarizing figure, but he and his staff are very good coaches. They had their kids ready to play, they just got beat by a really good team....no shame in that I can assure you the SOC coaching staff is ready to move on, this being done by DISD board members/admin for optics

It’s definitely my opinion stark is a good Coach. Stark may have wanted to leave I don’t know. Coaching is a tough business sometimes. I agree somewhat with UncleSi it would be nice to have a young coach to grow with. But at the end of the day most people only look at the win loss as judgement. Not the Talent on the Field also. If Upshaw is the replacement it’s obvious this would be a short term solution. But maybe that’s what Hemphills needing Till they can find a replacement for Stark. Anyway I don’t know who we will end up with. But as far as Stark he’s done a good job Coaching on field and off the field life lessons to young Hemphill youth. I wish him the best.

  9. Todd was more busy organizing "white outs", ordering custom jackets and shoes, and talking about breaking the attendance record than he was preparing his team for the game. That is why SOC was beaten when they took the field. Bravado and flash are all fun and games until you get punched in the mouth. And don't forget walking onto the field to start the game. Humble pie isn't easy to swallow when you relish the spotlight as much as he does. Hell, I'll bet he had his afterparties already set up like he did last year. Some of the videos from the parties he was at after last year's game made me lose a lot of respect for him as a leader of men. Pride always comes before the fall Coach Todd. There is a new Sheriff in 5ADII.

  11. SOC cheats everyday!! Total joke!!!! Recruits the whole Dallas Area! And still got beat by PNG! They will have 20 plus players of that team sign D1!! If you can’t score 50 with that you deserve to lose! SOC is everything wrong with TXHS sports!! So glad they lost!

  12. With what they have returning, I think PNG will be better next year if they can replace Shea. Nyguen will be tough, but Chatagnier and the young RB coming up should be able to fill in. Having most of that O-line back sure makes things easier. Reid Richards is one that hardly came off the field. Kid is a ball player. It may take 2 guys to replace him, but it can be done. As for Shea…PNG won more games with him out this season than when he played. That said, he was never truly out. I commented on many game threads this season about him on the sidelines on a scooter giving signals and rolling around motivating the team and getting in Bailey’s ear after every series. All of his 1 & 2 yard TD’s from the wildcat can be easily replaced. The leadership he displayed the last 2 seasons on and off the field was the difference in my opinion. Stats can be replaced. Leadership is much harder to quantify. If someone can fill Shea’s huge shoes, PNG should have another great season.

  13. Man, those Dallas teams have a history of whining and crying about stuff like this. Even on the basketball side. Their feelings are hurt. They’ll get over it.

  17. The ref in question is a Nederland Alumni? We should file a grievance over that. 🤣🤣

  18. There was also two more setx refs that i know were at the game. One from vidor another from lumberton. I dont know which game they did. But if they would have alternated crews you could still had some local refs there

I thought Stark had done a pretty good job at Hemphill. Was that not the sentiment of the community?

  21. This shows Todds ignorance in the situation. The Field Judge threw the PI flag. The guy that is from Nederland and lives in PN was the Line Judge. Oh and the PI was proven legit. And furthermore Todd agreed to the crew. Done. Finished. Take some accountability for your team being out coached. Apologize to those kids for your lack of preparation. Can’t tackle the guy one on one yet #21 Green caught Zero passes. Thats on the Legendary Todd.

  22. I'm actually not worried about how the teachers are treated. They have a choice to leave anytime. But if it rolls downhill like most stuff does, then the kids are hurting from this too. That's my only concern.

  28. This matches my feelings. Even as a png fan, I don’t like the idea of a guy so connected being on the crew. Did it affect the outcome? No. But it should have been avoided. That being said - All of the things the “disqualify” him can be waived by the coaches’ agreement, and beginning the game with that ref crew constitutes agreement. That means, once they start the game they lose the opportunity to have an opinion on the choice of ref. So, it could be that the coaches asked them to do the game, information was provided, none of the coaches said anything, and at that point they assumed the members they put forward had been approved. It’s not the ref’s job to do their research for them when the information has been provided equally to both sides. Still, I think it would have been better for him to have been left off.

  29. Personally, I couldn't be happier Shea ran in the go-ahead touchdown in the championship game. If anyone deserved that honor, it was him.

  30. That Dallas superiority complex does not deal well with defeat. And this carries over to a lot of other things in life far beyond sports.

  31. I have no dog in this. That picture shows a PI. If a ref from Groves was on the state championship crew he shouldn't have been and the UIL needs to fix their process to prevent this because even if he was completely objective it will never look objective. I also believe the people who are eligible to ref a state championship game are substantially less than the general ability to agree upon officials in other playoff games, that also the UIL's fault. If I am PNG I not only think it's UIL and SOCs fault a Groves official was on the field but if your PNG you also would not want that and should have pointed it out prior to the game. I'm assuming that PNG staff and crew just simply didn't know that specific information. That being said this is and should not be a grievance with PNG but with UIL.
