Dallas ISD considering filing a grievance over PNG win
Separation Scientist reacted to TxHoops for a topic
Dallas filing any sort of grievance with the UIL is hilarious. They are the dirtiest district (and region with the metroplex in general) of any area of the state and it isn’t even close. They made an example out of Duncanville in basketball but honestly that’s the tip of the iceberg. I would bet a large amount of money that SOC has multiple starters that are questionable enrollees at best.1 point -
Athletic Director Question

All Athletes, male or female, benefit from proper strength training. If the Athletic Director is not making sure ALL Athletes are being properly trained in the area of functional strength then they are doing a disservice to the athletes.1 point -

They do have a common opponent, La Grange. Shaw's 34 point win was convincing but not as impressive as Silsbee's win. That halftime score was devastating.1 point

Athletic Director Question
DP#1FAN reacted to Matthew328 for a topic
There's zero reason why the girls sports shouldn't lift...if there's just one weight facility there needs to be some cooperation and scheduling but for the good of all sports and athletes it needs to happen and if it's not happening then a poor job is being done by all involved IMO1 point -

Well, they can’t please everybody. They could win the superbowl and you’d find something wrong. Last time I checked, 11-5 record in the NFL is considered very good.1 point

Dallas ISD considering filing a grievance over PNG win
PlayActionPass reacted to 1970 for a topic
This thread has reached 6 pages and folks are talking about a lock, so I'll go ahead and comment with regard to the above politics-within-officials-orgs subject. Did someone mention in an above post that this is recent? Maybe they were referencing a particular situation "that recently occurred", not that politics is a recent thing. I had two co-workers back in the late 70s that were officials, and I swear I heard them crying and griping almost on a daily basis. The more senior refs got the games with the bigger gate(s), and the refs with less seniority fought it out for the remaining games. It used to crack me up listening to them trying to figure out how to get to some of the more out-of-the-way stadiums (this was in the 70s). I think the recent shortage of refs just follows the same recent trends, just like the shortage of school teachers, the shortage of bus drivers, and on and on. Anyway, happy new year everyone.1 point -
I have no dog in this. That picture shows a PI. If a ref from Groves was on the state championship crew he shouldn't have been and the UIL needs to fix their process to prevent this because even if he was completely objective it will never look objective. I also believe the people who are eligible to ref a state championship game are substantially less than the general ability to agree upon officials in other playoff games, that also the UIL's fault. If I am PNG I not only think it's UIL and SOCs fault a Groves official was on the field but if your PNG you also would not want that and should have pointed it out prior to the game. I'm assuming that PNG staff and crew just simply didn't know that specific information. That being said this is and should not be a grievance with PNG but with UIL.1 point
