Isn't Fort Bend Clements in the same region as well? Lots of Olajuwon dna on that team to deal with. BU still has a good trio with Davis/Dotson/Payia. Lots of teams wish they had that. They still got a shot.

I do say this in regards of NISD school board it’s a voting year I believe 3 seats are up for grabs… get out, ask questions see where they stand and what they believe in the future for NISD if it falls in your beliefs then vote for that person! I know where I stand.

The problem w/UIL rules now and why things are a lot more murky IMO is when the state of TX basically opened the door for open enrollment...when they granted charter schools and forced the UIL to take them it basically gave the green light to ISDs to start admitting kids who didnt live in their attendance zones... UIL cant mandate a kid who doesnt live in an open enrollment ISD be ineligible for 4 years...they'd lose that court case quick, fast and in a hurry...hence the 365 rule "establishing residency"

The administrative/rule making arm of the UIL is the legislative council....which is made up of the schools themselves...if the schools want the transfer rules changed then they have the ability to do so themselves.... I know some people want to go back to an automatice one-year sit out if a kid transfers...problem there is that already got overturned in the courts...UIL used to have that rule in place...its one of the few court cases the UIL's ever lost

So Lamar men's basketball is now 11-9 and 5-2 in conference. Hardly the same team from the last two seasons. But only an idiot would say something like that.

Trust me when I say 90 percent plus don’t care. I believe the majority are like me and take it as a compliment that those who do it are advertising the brand. And RT whining about it after the UCF loss got him more criticism from the longhorn faithful than the loss. But others thinking it does helps do it all the more, great with me.

They are saying they are using these three is nothing but a smoke screen. They have probably offered all three the job but they are all smart enough not to take the offer. First off they all would take a major pay cut but most important is they would have to put up with an incompetent administration who doesn’t do anything to help improve the athletic program when asked. They leave it to a bond issue where it has a slim chance it is going to pass……..What coach with any kind of clout, HC, OC, DC or other, would want to put up with that and be at the lower end of the pay scale?

I remember thinking PN-G didn’t have the athletes. Then Jeff Joseph took those athletes to two consecutive state championships. Coaching and culture are just as much a factor as raw talent.

One may question the LC-M/Vidor game as a "marquee" game on Tuesday night with both teams district records under .500. I see this game as a "playoff" type game as the loser of this one is likely out of playoff contention in 19-4A. Not mathematically out but will have to have some help from other teams to make playoffs. So this one is crucial to both teams. I went to a Little Dribblers game yesterday. This is the crap the kids are playing on. Little Dribblers raised money to replace this junk with adjustable goals in all the middle school gyms that they use. Nederland admin told them no. Someone else is wanting to pay for better facilities for our kids and they get shot down? Make that make sense to me. Also the same Admin that won’t allow coaches to have camps for the youth in the summer. I believe English is the only one that offers anything and he has to do it off campus at a church. This is who we have running the district and ultimately making this hire. Forgive me for not have much faith in them.

Sorry about the confusion guys. I was addressing (not judging) the UIL administrations duties to assure a somewhat level playing field statewide. Its a huge challenge, I know. As for Ned, I don't have any inside knowledge to comment one way or another on their Administration. I wish them the best though.

Considering the recent bond failure, I wouldn't look forward to anything like this in Silsbee anytime soon. They need a new middle school first and foremost.

BU doesn't have three D1 players from the past 3 trips to state. That has alot to do with it as well. Its not like their replacing Porchia, Arexeneaux, and Yates with 3 other D1 kids. Beaumont pipeline is loaded. BU will be fine. I predict they will make it to the 3rd round or Regionals this year. 6A isn't 5A.
