Works for Katy because they have huge linemen. Power only works if you have Power and if you don’t adjust to your physical strengths you will fail. Neuman was great at adjusting to his talent each year. Nederland will not succeed right now with a power I. they need to get #1 the ball in space. He Good.2 points

Scott Rich named as new Nederland HC/AD
PN-G bamatex and one other reacted to Rez for a topic
Agreed 100%. He needs to plant his flag as soon as possible to send out the message that things are full-circle different now. Best way to do that is actually play football. There needs to be a Nederland spring game.2 points -

I like what he said in the interview about he is approaching this as the last job of his life. Hoping he makes that very important connection with kids in all sports. I know Nederland will back him. Defensive coordinator will be crucial decision. I kinda hope he changes to a pro set offense. Huddle. Tight end. Etc. It may work well.2 points -

Silsbee extends their district win streak to 38 games. They are now averaging 101 points per game in district play. Giving up 55 per game. Winning district games by an average of 46 points per game. Tigers also wrap up another outright district title. Their 11th in last 12 seasons.2 points -
Big Congratulations to Jaden “Ghost” Scales. The young sophomore hit 1000 points tonight. Impressive ball skills and played very unselfishly. Great win by O-field. The entire Bobcat team impressed me tonight2 points

That is a shame. Sounds like the new coach has no chance to turn the program around (because they are playing Silsbee, WOS, and Lumberton in pre-district). Probably will not even matter if they were to "teach fundamentals and technique".2 points -

Word on the street is that the halls and facilities are some sort of bizarro world with the current staff. The usual suspects are all of a sudden “interested” in the kids. Asking about and congratulating kids on other sports, having them run in track events and being concerned. Let’s see if these few days can change the perception of their actions during the last several years…allegedly There are good coaches on the staff and also a handful that just need a change of environment1 point

Game 3 Kountze vs. Orangefield Predictions
Cu Chulainn reacted to mfd814 for a topic
Kountze seems to shoot the ball better at away games. Defense has turned up and the big men are playing better. Last night 7 players in double digits, keep sharing the ball Lions. Should be a good game going into playoffs for both teams.1 point -

Agreed, Angleton has had some good teams and tradition. They will not be a team to take lightly. Ball however has been the benefactor of being in a weak district.1 point -
Of course. Devonte Mays, Lisfranc injury against Beaumont Central his Senior year. If he doesn't get hurt that Livingston team has a chance to make a run in the playoffs. Nederland was the only team better than them when healthy. Bull went to Blinn then onto Utah State. Signed as an undrafted free agent with Green Bay and even dressed a few time I think. Spent time on a couple practice squads.1 point

Game 3 Kountze vs. Orangefield Predictions
Coach 01 reacted to Cu Chulainn for a topic
Yes sir, as a team we didnt shoot it well either. Both teams were playing very good defense and closing out quickly limiting the number of open looks. I believe Game #2 comes down to who can take care of the ball and whose supporting cast can settle in under the bright lights to help put points on the board, just like Game #1 did. In Game #1 Scales (7/12 - 21pts) and Wrinkle (7/13- 15pts) had 36 of the 46 points Orangefield scored, while Kountze's Role Players scored 22 of their 55. Couple that with Orangefield turning the ball over 27 times as well as only shooting 8 free throws in the game, and it was a recipe for our disaster. We'll adjust at home and be ready this Friday. Kountze no doubt is deeper than we are, but our ceiling is just as high and our rims seem to like us at home way more than they do our opponents, lol. I'm hoping we win Friday, split with yall, and then play the "Seeding Tie-Breaker" in WOS's new awesome arena! Just wishful thinking I guess, but that story would definitely live up to the hype!1 point -
ST is a must this year....He has a whole new system to implement as well as evaluate personnel. As the AD its on him to make sure ALL that play football participate, as much as possible. Football puts buttss in the seats and fills the coffers.1 point

Game 1 felt like a Playoff Game, so this one should be an all out movie! Real talent on both sides of the ball, great coaching, awesome fanbases and the stakes don't get much higher. SETX's basketball shines in this one no matter what! Can't wait for Friday night!1 point -

I believe every male in Peyton's family has been inbetween 6'4 and 6'7. If he can grow anything close to that, he could nearly carry the team by himself next year. Right now his size hurts him a little at times when finishing at the rim in traffic.1 point

Possibly but they’re losing a couple of their top players from last year. Their coach is great though and has really turned the program around there. She was my older daughter’s club coach years ago. Her daughter will be a junior next year and is a great setter/RS for them. I think Splendora was a solid 4A program. Not sure how they’ll do moving up. I think a lot of the 5A districts got weaker with teams moving up to 6A. Friendswood has no competition in district now that Manvel is gone. BH’s district got even easier for them, not that they had much competition before.1 point

With what they have returning, I think PNG will be better next year if they can replace Shea. Nyguen will be tough, but Chatagnier and the young RB coming up should be able to fill in. Having most of that O-line back sure makes things easier. Reid Richards is one that hardly came off the field. Kid is a ball player. It may take 2 guys to replace him, but it can be done. As for Shea…PNG won more games with him out this season than when he played. That said, he was never truly out. I commented on many game threads this season about him on the sidelines on a scooter giving signals and rolling around motivating the team and getting in Bailey’s ear after every series. All of his 1 & 2 yard TD’s from the wildcat can be easily replaced. The leadership he displayed the last 2 seasons on and off the field was the difference in my opinion. Stats can be replaced. Leadership is much harder to quantify. If someone can fill Shea’s huge shoes, PNG should have another great season.1 point
