Shouldn't hang too much of a hat on that district championship. That was the year this Silsbee senior group were freshmen and I stated that if anyone was going to get Silsbee it was that year because those next three years Silsbee would dominate. Which they have. Also, Silsbee had to play their JV for two varsity games that year because of Covid protocols. Two losses that when Silsbee got their varsity team back they beat both those teams (LC-M and Vidor) by 25-30 points. Lumberton got the luxury of getting Silsbee right after they came out of Covid protocol (no practices) and beat Silsbee. Silsbee had beat Lumberton earlier in district play. Silsbee went on to play in the regional championship game that season, losing to Huffman by 6. A Huffman team that destroyed Lumberton in the playoffs that year by 34. I think it is very fair to say that Lumberton caught Silsbee at the right time. Anyone with any kind of basketball knowledge would agree with that. I think Josh is a good coach, no doubt. But to say that the other coaches would not do as well as he has given the situation is just not a fair or smart statement.

You are correct on that. She struck ut 16 but they still lost 4-0. The beat Nederland last night 4-0. Fall had 20 strikeouts but BC only had 3 hits against average pitching.

You not knowing who those two are tells me all I need to know about your knowledge of the area basketball scene. Doug Jones is a Port Arthur guy. Very in tuned to the high school basketball in this area and Houston. The conflict was from both sides and the fact that Washington had to start district play a week earlier than scheduled. They had no choice but to cancel. Neither could come up with a make up date that suited both teams. Only thing I saw wrong with Washington was them waiting at the last minute to cancel.

That's the whole point here, and it's clear that Mitchell's fans have a different definition than everyone else. And it's a shame, because he's done just fine over there, but with all of the crazy claims made by a handful of people, these turn into what feels like an anti-Mitchell thread, when in reality they turn into anti-delusional Mitchell fan threads.

BH will win state. They were beat by a loaded Lake Creek team the last 2 years. BH pushed them to 3 games last year. They have two D1 arms and in high school that’s tough to deal with. They are also well coached. BH also has D1 commits in the line up. It’s a shame more people didn’t get to see the BC vs BH scrimmage. Its not common to see 3 arm of that caliber in one high school game.

Just adding a thought here... last season BH's bats struggled a lot. Its super, super early but in my mind the BH bats are still the question mark.

He is very wrong on the subject. Jim Hicks and Doug Jones of RCS Sports has a very different take on the cancelation of that game. I'll take their word over his any day when it comes to Houston area basketball. But regardless of the reason, United could play a warm up game if it so chooses and if someone would agree to play due to the cancelation.

Nederland lining up against PNG last year was a mismatch with the size of the PNG line. coaches from Nederland did a good job with what they had. Next year will be the same results.

Fall is 100% healthy or she wouldn’t be playing. She struck out 16 vs Barbers Hill, but did have a few more walks than usual. She had 11 K’s in 4 innings of work last night. The biggest question is if BC will give her run support. If they can out 3-4 runs they will be hard to beat. LCM is solid and it should be a good matchup.
