Game 1 bad refs, Game 2 good refs, Game 3 bad refs. Got it. This game was won at the 5:00 minute mark through the end of the 1st half when Kountze went on a 35-12 run. Plain and simple. Blaming the refs is nothing new, and explains a lot about the way some kids behave on the court.

I believe he is referring to the 18-2 run after OF started out 10-0 (made the score 18-12 Kountze) Actually it was a 21-2 run for Kountze (led 21-12). The 35-12 run is how the first half ended. After OF started the game 10-0, Kountze then finished the first half out scoring OF 35-12 for a 35-22 halftime score. Basically the 18-2 run is within the overall 35-12 run. Hope that clarifies that issue.

Grown men spreading rumors. The same kids played all year long and were eligible per UIL rules. Upping further scrutiny by the UIL one of the transfers paperwork has not been done correctly making him ineligible. Typically the UIL doesn’t review transfers late in the season to avoid this type of situation and the heartbreak it causes the kids. Apparently they are about to start. Coach Egans has coached in Crosby for 20+ years and has always followed protocol. Ruining his integrity now makes zero sense.

As a Head Coach of a sport you should know the eligibility status of your players. Grades and Waiver status fall into that category. if you have kids that have waivers pending or not started then they certainly don’t play varsity games. As I said, this is inexcusable. Shouldn’t have happened.

Just says public reprimand doesn’t say recruiting violation. Nice try tho.

If a coach gets a technical foul and ejected from the game, they get a public reprimand.

Blaming the refs? What happened to that supporting cast going off for 35 points game 3 like you thought? This game was over with after Kountze’s 18-2 and 35-12 run. Orangefield doesn’t have to horses to counter that. Kudos to the defensive job Kountze has done on Scales after his monster 1st half in Game 2. They’ve held him to 12 total points over the last 6 quarters…. Maybe that’s where the focus should be instead of blaming the officials because things didn’t go your way.

My kid doesn't carry himself poorly on the floor or anywhere else. We worry about what kind of human beings we are before we worry about what kind of athlete he is. Everyone can say whatever but whats done is done and we are on to the playoffs, just like they are. Hope to see them again in a few weeks, until then we will honestly be pulling for them!

Well myrecordwashorrible, I have come to the conclusion that with Davis leading the way, we will continue to get the same results for Lamar baseball We simply need to remember that under his leadership Lamar has not won a conference championship and only has 1 win in conference tournament play Lamar elected to keep him, so IMO we will see the same results, with close to the same number of wins and losses, with a quick exit if they make it to the conference tournament

You have said that several times about Silsbee this year and they have proved you wrong, but this time I’ll agree with you. If Silsbee starters play more than they have in district I’ll be surprised if HJ scores more than 54.

If I am the AD or Assistant AD I should know the status of waivers. This is inexcusable.

Thanks for the updated info and perspective. I guess this explains Coach Egan’s Nov 2023 UIL public reprimand. In most cases many of the transfers are not legitimate, but the unwritten rule seems to be “look the other way”. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Phelan would show up drunk when doing his official duty as Speaker. AG Paxton called him out on it. Phelan retaliated by garnering enough Dem votes to impeach Paxton. Paxton was eventually acquitted. I watched a lot of the impeachment trial. And it became clear Phelan really didn't have anything on Paxton. This led LT Gov Patrick to say how much taxpayer dollars Phelan had wasted. This also led to the censure of Phelan by the Texas Republican Party. Also, Trump, Cruz, Paxton and Patrick has endorsed Covey. So, I'm not getting a warm cozy feeling concerning Phelan.

Out of likes. One issue that concerns me is the attempts to reduce funding from public schools to give it to families that home school or send their kids to private school. I believe that is one issue Dade has butted heads with the conservative platform and that is one where I happen to agree with him. And it’s nice to have the speaker from our area obviously. I struggle though because I know his main opponent personally and he’s a very good man that I believe most of this board would really like.

From what I was told, two transfers were never cleared to be eligible. One from CE King, the other from Channelview. Have not heard anything in regards to kids not attending Crosby or have already graduated. I have a hard time claiming "cheating" here. They played ineligible players. If you want to call it cheating, so be it.

Not much less than the typical life expectancy of an AD in Hemphill......

I think another Biden term would be more survivable than Newsom.
