    National Media

There was a national media outlet I used to love to watch. I worked midnights for years and would come home and get caught up on all the latest headlines. The anchors were humorous, had catch phrases and presented the sports hi-lights from the previous day. They had fun segments where they would show the top 10 and not top 10 of the night or the week. New ownership took over and started pushing agendas and politics. Sports was pushed down to secondary status after indoctrination. I phased out of watching the channel altogether. Started watching again after years of being away because my favorite sporting event is exclusively on that channel. Lo and behold nothing has changed. They have complete segments dedicated to hi-lighting those on the “front-line” of social change and isolating 98% of the clientele who just wish to watch sports. They have laid off tons of long time and popular hosts. They have fired anchors for not bowing to their woke ideology. Would someone step up and finally create another sports network to compete with the woke 4-letter network? Sad!!!! Sports should be a refuge from the day to day grind. Sports should be a haven to get away from wokeness. You may now tune back to your regularly scheduled programming. I am off the soapbox.

  4. If you drink every time Trump tells a lie, you will be safe to drive home. In fact, your blood alcohol level will not even register. Now if you drink every time the Liberals falsely say Trump is lying, then go ahead and book your hospital bed...and hope you can recover from the alcohol poisoning.

  5. Yes, they are both old. But one has to be led around like a toddler. A little memory loss is expected. I experience it all the time, and I’m waaaay younger than them. But the Easter bunny never had to lead Trump around. Trump hasn’t stumbled and fallen in public getting into a plane or walking across a stage. Trump hasn’t mumbled and slurred his speech in nearly every single speaking engagement he’s involved in (and he does a lot more public speaking than Biden does). To claim that Joe Biden doesn’t have rapidly increasing cognitive decline is either irresponsible or a flat out lie.

Nice to see an Aggie with a reasonable take on this. Some of the stuff I’ve been reading online is pretty out there

Did you feel this bad for TCU when he left that program pretty much the exact same way?

  8. Congrats to Coach LaReau for being inducted into the GHFCA Hall of Honor. Coach LaReau lead the Bulldogs to three District Championships, twelve PO appearances, and two State Quarterfinal berths in his 14 years. He owns 15 career PO wins while at La Porte. All of this was accomplished while La Porte was consistently one of the—if not the—smallest 6A schools in the state. Congratulations on well deserved recognition Coach.

I agree and I rarely disagree with AAW’s takes. It’s more the ones who love to throw around the term “t-shirt fans” (like they don’t have plenty of their own and who the heck cares anyway? Why can’t someone cheer of a college of their choice just like pro teams?). I have always been convinced that term is mostly utilized by aggy alums who couldn’t get into UT and therefore assume those who cheer for the Longhorns couldn’t either. Again, inferiority complex. And again, that’s not AAW but many “loud and proud” aggy faithful I see online.

  17. In these situations he will be eligible immediately. Last year her could have been ineligible for BH Varsity if they had tried to use him that way. Returning to a school you previously attended doesn't cause eligibility issues. Its just like when an athlete gets ruled ineligible he just goes back to his old school he can play.

  18. How about drinking when either candidate tells a lie. You holler the name of the liar before you drink. Then let us see how many times each candidates name is referenced. Do the same for the dazed and confused looks. The shots ratio jumps to 50 to 1.

evil will use anything and everything to reach ya As far as my house that channel doesn’t exist. Sports watching has almost become non existent compared to how I grew up in the 80s and 90s.

  20. I keep trying to tell him how foolish he looks when he repeats those lies about Trump, but he continues to embarrass himself. Maybe hearing it from a different source will help. Who am I kidding. That TDS is too strong in that one. I fear no hope left.

Great post. I used to watch that station 24 hours a day, back in the early to mid 90’s. The only way I go to that station now is if one of my teams are on it. I would love if the old school Sports Center came back.

  23. For once (and maybe the only time), I think you’re right. It might be happening early to give the left the ammo to dump Biden if he is a disaster tonight. I think they hop right past Kamala, but it won’t hurt their chances with their voters. What the objective see (but Trump fans don’t) is this. We all agree with Trump when he said that he could literally shoot someone in broad daylight and his supporters wouldn’t waiver-and he’s right. He’s a proven rapist, tried to overturn an election that he obviously lost, is under indictments, twice impeached, and a reprehensible human… but his supporters are proud to say “I’m still with him!” On the other hand, the sentiment against his enemies is just as strong. It doesn’t matter who gets nominated, those that hate Trump WILL turn out to vote against him. I know that’s hard for Trump fans to understand, but it’s true. There is not a single thing that’s going to make people who hate trump vote for him. They would literally vote for anyone. All the Dems have to do is trot out somebody less objectionable than Biden and it’s over for the Rs. That’s the danger of betting everything on a horse that can’t run, but you really, really like its name.

  26. I certainly don't feel that way. It's business. But the dude handled it very badly and there is no getting around that. I mean, when Mad Dog Russo and Steven A. call the guy an ass and a fraud for how he handled it, that's saying something. I also believe the fact that the AD and Schloss are good friends had a lot to do with the hire. Not so sure another AD gets that done. Again, very good hire. The timing of it all is a bit suspicious and somewhat petty. But again, it's business.

  27. Well, they disagreed with me and went Sells over Miller on the first team. It was so close I really didn’t have an issue either way. I could be wrong up but it’s always seemed to me that Drelon was a bit undersold in hoops because he is so dang good in football. But that kid came up with some really big performances in huge games. He always seems to rise to the occasion. And he was a senior. But Zac was certainly more than deserving too.

I get aggy being pissed off about the press conference comments, and the firing of Pierce on the day of the national championship (although schools and teams do that all the time). But in the end, I think the thing that they are most upset about is the fact that UT can come in and hire their most successful big 3 coach away, just because they want to. Reinforces every inferiority complex they have, that they won’t or are incapable of admitting.

It’s the same and not the same. TCU wasn’t one win away from a national title, and texas fires their coach the day A&M is playing? This is A&M and ut rivalry we are talking about!!!!!

I don’t think Schloss and the AD (Trev Alberts) saw eye to eye. I think Alberts came in and is wanting to cut some of the spending that was about to happen in the baseball program. Just what I’ve pieced together from things I’ve read….I believe Schloss will be very well taken care of at UT.

  31. Let’s be honest. Warren is mostly know for Ag/FFA….which is more applicable to real life. as far sports it’s not be all end all and that’s coming from a former college player as well as a coach for 15 years (I ended my coaching career due to missing time with my own kids) Sports are great and can teach valuable life lessons if the right people are doing the job. But todays society (self centered and instant gratification) has changed many things about sports from lil league to the pros. i have 5 kids. Most who are descent athletes but I tend to lead them in more real life aspects of life….hunting, fishing, gardening, livestock. Warren has had some good men/coaches come thru. Schroeder being one of those (good man and coach) and is still there and I’m thankful for that. But some have been let go because of “winning” when character is sacrificed for “winning” count me out. Give me a good man at the helm whose willing to stay awhile. If we win great if we don’t oh well. It’s a small fraction of life for the young women and men who will eventually be in the workforce hopefully being a productive citizen not in the nba mlb nfl wnba etc etc. nor will many even get a athletic college scholarship.

Partially true. God is omnipresent and loves us all the same. God is not distant, we are. We are the ones that stray away or outright reject him. It is up to us to turn to him. We must ask and knock. Matthew 7:7-8 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
