2024 Astros
baddog and 2 others reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
After starting off the season 7-19, Astros have gone 36-22 since. Had the best record in baseball for the month of June. Over a month ago Houston was 8th in the AL in runs scored, 13th in runs allowed. Now the Astros are 6th in runs scored and 7th in runs allowed. Offense has been consistent but the pitching has definitely improved. Also, Houston leads all of MLB in team batting average (.265) and have the fewest team strikeouts (575) in all of MLB. Next lowest is Padres with 594. Astros were at one point the worst team in baseball with blown save opps. At one point Houston had blown 10 saves in 18 opportunities. Now that stat is at 18 saves in 31 opps. So they have converted on 10 of last 13 save opportunities. Those blown save opps earlier in season could have Houston in 1st place right now. The current projections (based on remaining schedules and current trends) has Houston winning division with 89 wins. Seattle predicted to finish with 87 wins. Rangers predicted to finish with 79 wins.3 points -
[Hidden Content] From the article: A Tennessee woman who was fired from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) for refusing to comply with its COVID-19 vaccine requirement for employees has received a settlement worth nearly $700,000. A federal jury found that Tanja Benton "proved by a preponderance of the evidence" that her decision to refuse the vaccine was based on a "sincerely held religious belief," according to the settlement obtained by WTVC. For a total of over $687,000, the jury awarded Benton more than $177,000 in back pay, $10,000 in compensatory damages and $500,000 in punitive damages. Sad that she had to even prove what her reasoning was.2 points

Talent won't be the question with Lufkin (although the jury is still out on the OL). Coaching will always be the question. The floor in this district for Lufkin is playoffs, thanks in part to how bad Beaumont ISD and Sterling are. Ceiling? A district title would involve Lufkin beating that PAM defense on the road....while also holding off a Barbers Hill team at home that fits the description of teams that Lufkin has seemed to struggle against as of late. Oh and by the way....on the road to Galveston to take on a Ball team that has 14 starters back from 9-2, including double digit D1 players and the only D1 QB in the district. I don't know that anyone could accurately predict that at this time. I'm actually surprised that more people aren't talking about Ball. 14 starters back from 9-2? Their 2 losses were by 7 and 6 points. Back to back district titles. Believe they're getting PAM, Barbers Hill and Lufkin at home too.2 points

5A D1 District 9 Discussion
Mr. Buddy Garrity reacted to BHFAN for a topic
GB has been in a horrible district , but you right we shouldn’t sleep on them. I think it was Buddy that said there will not be an undefeated team in district this year and I agree with that as well. BH has to play Lufkin, PAM & GB on the road, so we have the toughest road to hoe. It’s going to be a fun fight up top 😊1 point -
Thank you. I’m lazy sometimes. These are stats that the announcers use during games and I always wondered where they came from.1 point

Oh yeah, hell yeah as a 40 year coach in East Terrace county and a graduate of great football at Marlin High School. I know in Belleville y’all got great football. Good luck on your season. I’m gonna enjoy it from here in New Orleans as I work and understand I’m 63 going on 23 and a little bit of a smart ass, my coach y’all favorite I think his name is Cougar 23. That boy can talk to smack but he was a hell of a player that Offensive Coordinator screwed over. Seriously he was jealous of him because of the girl he was dating and he wouldn’t give him the football. I could change stories how men have let their feminine emotions get to them in football and screw things up. Anyway, I smell that wet grass in the morning and feel the sweat of forehead can’t wait football star I’m a crazy guy go go Aggies go LSU, go Texas go Cowboys go Saints. Do you think I like football?1 point -

Just remember, the democrats brought this on by weaponizing the DOJ and FBI to "silence" the opposition, that everyone said was so defeatable, I will add. And the rules don't apply to the democrats anyway.1 point -

Don’t know where you get all of those stats, but I like them. Duboń is a player they should try and find room for every game. He’s a very scrappy player and can play most positions.1 point

It's Likely Already Too Late To Remove Joe Biden From The Ballot!
Reagan reacted to CardinalBacker for a topic
From wiki: In Democratic National Conventions, superdelegates—described in formal party rules as the party leaders and elected official (PLEO) category—make up slightly under 15% of all convention delegates. Before 2018, Democratic superdelegates were free to support any candidate for the presidential nomination in all rounds of balloting. (This contrasts with pledged delegates, who were selected based on the party presidential primaries and caucuses in each U.S. state, in which voters choose among candidates for the party's presidential nomination.) In 2018, the Democratic National Committee reduced the influence of superdelegates by barring them from voting on the first ballot at the Democratic National Convention, allowing them to vote only in a contested convention. The problem as I understand it is that a candidate needs 1,976 delegates to lock down the nomination, and Biden already 3,894 delegates pledged to him. There won't be contest at the convention if the delegates vote the way that they're pledged to do... and supposedly they have no ability to change their vote to another candidate. Dave Campbell Texas Football magazine
lil brother reacted to Coachbearoso for a topic
Why I can’t lie to y’all, this is Coach Bear and I started this topic. South of New Orleans working here after 40 years of coaching piss cause I hadn’t got my Texas Football yet. But I saw Dave Tepper delivered to y’all. Great job. I got that beat this morning, after doing my morning bus run at the construction job here in Port Sulphur Louisiana. I drove up to my travel trailer. There is a limo, and guess who gets out Roger Staubach and Earl Campbell and Dhat Nguyen, followed by my teammatesin the 1979 THSCA all-Star game in Fort Worth, Erik Dickerson and Craig James, then it’s kind of like clowns coming out of a car, 2211 for offense and 11 for Defense Victoria’s Secret models came out and finally they presented me my Texas Football magazine. Then the heavens opened up and the Angels sing hallelujah I was going to attach a picture that I took sitting on my toilet reading Texas Football but it said the file was too big, I understand that because I am Ukrainian and you know the saying once you go Ukrainian the love connection makes you insane again. Just saying. — Seriously, Football right around the corner and I’m excited1 point -
