    Local Murders

@bullets13 I met the kid that was murdered. His mother is in a acoustic duet called Thunderbird Rose. He would come out with them occasionally when they would perform. He seemed like a really nice kid. This is the second "Mom" I know personally in the local music scene that has lost a child. I learned through the first one, even if you have kids, you still can't imagine the level of pain/guilt/anger/depression losing one of your kids will cause. I know she could use some prayers right now.

    2024 Astros

Big three game series vs. the Rangers. Hunter Brown tonight, Arrighetti on Saturday, and Blanco on Sunday afternoon before the All-Star Break. Hunter Brown is 2-2 vs the Rangers, but the last two games have been his losses and the Rangers pounded him back in April. I don't remember if Arrighetti has pitched against the Rangers, but he's been up and down all season and the Rangers pound average to below average pitchers. Blanco has been our rock all season. Here's to the Houston bats staying hot and we get some decent pitching against a good Rangers line-up. I agree...I like the decision to have Altuve skip the All-Star Game to rest his hand/wrist. I hope the bullpen takes the week off and gets some rest. They've been used and abused for most of the season. Need Abreu, Pressley, and Hader to rest those arms. I'm hoping Verlander returns with a strong second half. I still think he has some gas in the tank. McCullers...injury plagued. Need to seriously look at letting him go or "retiring" him. He's a likeable guy, but he's frustrated fans for 2+ seasons (or longer). Go Astros!

  4. Let me explain this in a reasonable manner… we don’t need new laws, we just need the ones we already have to be enforced. Illegal immigrants aren’t voting legally in federal elections now. Making it “doubly illegal” won’t change a thing. But the real problem is PROPORTIONALITY. Illegal immigrants ARE counted in the census, which affects how areas are represented politically, and how federal/state money is spent. Let’s say that you live in an active district full of 400,000 Republican voters. Your community hashes our differences and elects representatives who try to do your will, in theory. Money flows in, money flows out, etc. This is an extreme illustration, but follow me. Nearby you a second district. This one is also 400,000, but 399,900 of them are illegal, and can’t vote. So the 100 registered voters make all of the decisions for the entire district, and they do so without even having to consider the wants/needs of the 399.9k who can’t vote. Dems don’t necessarily want illegals to vote, they just want them to be counted in the census. It helps them to consolidate their power. Think about the 7 million or so people in Houston, then consider how many of them can’t vote… that’s how you end up with crappy leadership over there.

  5. Congratulations! We’re less than four months away from electing someone not named “Trump” or “Biden.”

  6. For me, that's the issue. For such a seemingly intelligent person, (again, for me) your message gets lost in the belittling speech.

  8. I might get my last one done tomorrow. Maybe have an inspection receipt burning party, kind of like a mortgage burning party. I hope they don’t find anything wrong and change me a lot of extra money to fix it!! 🤣🤣🤣

  9. I had cars for 15 years where that didn’t exist and at other times, no one ever knew. I honestly can’t imagine bringing a car in for inspection and not knowing that everything is working.
