I agree with a lot of that. My last child graduates from college next spring, and it will just be my wife and me. Our house isn't huge (3,500 sq. ft.), but it's definitely larger than the 2 of us need. Don't need the pool either. Or the 2,000 sq. ft. shop either (blasphemy, I know). Or the 1,600 ft. lean to for mowers, toys, boats, atv's, utv's either. Or 7 acres either. Not if I plan on retiring in the next 10 years or so... So we sat down to figure out a plan on building/buying a new home, and we could only get it down to 2,500 sq. ft., no pool, 1,200 sq. ft. shop, smaller lean to proportionate to the shop, get rid of 1 boat, 1 ATV, 1 UTV, (that'll leave me with one of each) on 3 acres. I stepped back and realized we have lost our effing minds... I grew up in mobile homes or an old wood frame house under 1200 sq. ft. for most of my young life - and we were fine... And there were 6 people. Crazy man, crazy.

He will play WR for sure (if not QB some) but his most impact will be at safety.

Agree 100%. Dana Brown should resign. Trading Loperfido, Wagner, and Bloss for a rental pitcher with an ERA around 5.0 is professional malpractice. Brown and Jeff Bagwell calling the shots has ruined the Astros.

Well, I’m by no means an expert, but it seems to me we don’t need a starting pitcher, who is having a bad year, to a one year deal and replace our up and coming players for the sake of “win now”.

My Dad raised 3 kids in a 3/1/1 in Port arthur. In 1983, after 2 kids moved out, he took in the garage, moved rooms around, added a large under roof back porch, including carport that attached to a 3.5 car garage he built. It is crazy what we get spoiled to

When your team has the majority of its players in high level clubs during the off season, you see the payoff during the school season. I'd wager that the best HS players in SETX play club ball at a high level. And I'm not talking about the clubs who play 3 or 4 one day tournaments in the spring. If you look at HS teams closer to Houston you'll see that most of the girls are single sport athletes who play volleyball year round. The sad reality with the larger high schools in the Houston area is that kids don't have a chance to make varsity unless they are a year-round player. My niece is one of them at Klein. I like that a lot of the kids around SETX can be multi sport athletes at their smaller schools. It cannot be denied, however, that having players who invest in good clubs makes a huge difference in school season.

If anyone hasn't noticed Tank King (MHS LB) recruitment has blown up. Just picked up a Michigan offer this afternoon after a visit to Tennessee over the weekend.

I am pretty excited for Nederland volleyball this year with my girl being a senior. We should do well this year. We lost 3 from last year but return a good group. We play in two pretty big tournaments this year that won’t make our record look good but hopefully will make them mentally and physically ready to go for the season.

From my youthful experience, they spontaneously fail to start.
