one good thing is that the average democrat has trended back to center these last few years. even the left is getting tired of the woke, cancel culture antics. that's good news considering the left is probably going to control just about everything here pretty soon. the right has all the insults and criticism in the world for the left, but they're not stupid, though. they've figured out that moderation wins elections, and are adjusting attitudes, candidates, and policy to better attract voters. maybe republicans will figure that out at some point as well. everyone on the right is getting bent out of shape because harris has changed her stances on a lot of things. There's no real surprise that criticism over this strategy is coming from the side who's gone with the "this is what we're doing, deal with it" approach for the last 2 elections, with minimal success. Trump supporters have been outraged when anyone has suggested he make some changes to increase his odds of being elected. Now Harris has done just that and they're outraged that she's quickly gaining support. it's one of the dumber things i've seen in a long line of dumb things that have come out of the right in recent years.2 points -

Got a question. You have made reference to that game a few times lately. (even drug up an old thread from last year) Why? Seems like you enjoy bringing it up. Can we now label you a Silsbee hater? You know I know about those type things.1 point -

I'll be honest... we haven't had anything financially sustainable in almost 25 years. 1. Democrats get elected by promising unsustainable giveaways to their voters. 2. Republicans get elected by promising unsustainable tax cuts to their voters. There's no difference between the two, other than one benefits the working stiffs/wealthy and the other benefits the sick, lame, lazy, and infirm. Both are gonna kill us, thought.1 point -

They have figured out that lying about moderation wins elections, there will be no moderate policies pushed if she is elected. I know that and lots of other folks do to, but there are a lot of folks that at the last minute check the latest punchline from a candidate without having a clue as to their record of years and years. Harris is no moderate and neither is her sidekick, we'll see that very soon if elected. Personally, I think a country that the swing voters are happy in will be a very mediocre place to live, and won't be financially sustainable, but, nothing to stop it either.1 point -

this year they're in possibly the worst district in the state. maybe some district down near the mexican border is worse. which is not any fault of Lumberton, but I'm just hoping there isn't too much overreaction when they compete for a district championship this year.1 point -

Hire a guy that has been around Lumberton for a while. He knows the parents, kids, etc. and he knows that expectations are low and that as long as he competes in a weak district his job is safe. Not a knock against him. Thats good job security.1 point -
Most rational forcasters, even reporting from CNN, claim this race is a dead heat and the winner will be determined by a few thousand votes in less than a handful of States. Wouldn't it be something if RFK Jr's endorsement put Trump over the top. The Harris honeymoon is about over and the polls should shift to a more accurate account of where they stand. Then.....at some point......Kamala has to start answering tough questions.....1 point

We'll see, I think I'll still go vote. Conservatives won't be able to present a candidate that the swing voters will elect in the near future. Can't fix that.1 point -
This is not a good start for BH. Deer Park lost just as much talent as BH, but you could argue that BH had better returning talent (which they do). A lot of teams lose players year to year, but if you claim to be an elite program you reload and coach up who is next in line. Maybe there is a reason Bh elected to not play in the Volleypalooza or Dickinson tournaments this year.1 point

There sure is a massive amount of armed police protecting a convention full of people who believe in defunding them. Hypocrites!!!!! People who don’t believe in putting up walls to protect the American people sure have plenty of metal fencing available to surround their sorry arses. Aren’t they supposed to allow the protesters full access to their facilities…..like an OPEN BORDER? Hypocrites!!!!1 point

Lord Soulja on the sauce.🤣 I think I have said before that I’m not sold on Lufkin. They are getting tons of love because of the potential of how good their defense is, but that offense is going to need lots of work. PAM on paper should be the best team in district, but BH showed they can play with em. Ball is an unknown and may surprise in district while the Beaumont schools will be better dropping to 5A. My predictions are PAM BH Lufkin Ball United Westbrook Sterling1 point -

Elon Musk: I Am Willing To Serve!
Chester86 reacted to thetragichippy for a topic
Musk briefly attended the University of Pretoria before immigrating to Canada at the age of 18, acquiring citizenship through his Canadian-born mother. Two years later he matriculated at Queen's University at Kingston in Canada. Musk later transferred to the University of Pennsylvania and received bachelor's degrees in economics and physics. He moved to California in 1995 to attend Stanford University, but dropped out after two days and, with his brother Kimbal, co-founded the online city guide software company Zip2. The startup was acquired by Compaq for $307 million in 1999. That same year Musk co-founded X.com, a direct bank. X.com merged with Confinity in 2000 to form PayPal. In October 2002 eBay acquired PayPal for $1.5 billion. Using $100 million of the money he made from the sale of PayPal, Musk founded SpaceX, a spaceflight services company, in 2002. Why in the world would we want a guy that created profitable companies and became the richest man in the world to have any input on Government programs? (sarcasm) The guy has great ideas and is running X(twitter) better than ever with a 1/3rd of the staff. I'm not sure why so many people hate successful people.1 point -

5A D1 District 9 Discussion
Yeoj reacted to PackAttack for a topic
BU and Westbrook moving to 5A DI from 6A, playing in district with the likes of North Shore, Summer Creek, Atascocita and CE King has been overlooked a bit. So for me it's not a stretch to say it becomes a little more even ground for them in this district. That was one stout 6A district the past two years. That's why I say this could be one stout 5A DI district this year. There are no sure things for PA, Lufkin, BH or Ball IMO, some folks are going to need to earn their spots this year.1 point -
Did you happen to notice if anyone ran into the endzone with the ball? Some people consider that a positive sign. Also moving the ball. Did any of the teams move the ball?1 point

Woman, Adult Son, his Girlfriend slain - The House Set on Fire
LumRaiderFan reacted to thetragichippy for a topic
I dated Kelly, the mother, for a couple years after my 1st wife. She was a free spirit and a lot of fun to be around. She had messaged me a few weeks ago on FB to see how I was doing. She asked about my Son because him and her Son Kolin enjoyed hanging out when we dated. We had remained Facebook friends and spoke occasionally. To find out they were murdered, and so far, without a reason, has kept this thing on my mind. She was from Vidor, the only thing I see positive, is reading and realizing how loved she was based on all the Facebook post. Her other daughter (and only other child) did not live in the house - she is left without her family😠 [Hidden Content]0 points
