Just a pet peeve of mine but can we at least get 24 hours to talk about last night's games before we are bombarded with next week's game prediction threads. Show some respect. Jeeez

I don't think any Silsbee fan had that mindset. Most are very surprised they started off 4-0 (now 4-1). You lose a senior class in 4A DII like the one that just came through, you naturally will drop in expectations and reality.

BC might not get blown out by all of those teams like last year, but Jasper is the only team they’d have a realistic shot against out of those four this year, and they look worse than they are because they somehow ended up scheduling 2 of the best teams in the state. I’m confident Jasper would be 4-0 with similar results had they worked their way through district 10-3A in their warmup games. Silsbee isn’t that down from their team that beat y’all by 4 scores last year, and WOS appears to have improved significantly from the team that beat y’all by 14. Jasper and HF beat y’all by 35 and 49, respectively. Yes, y’all are better this year. But (Some) BC fans are on here getting worked up about “sarcasm” and a “lack of respect”. the reason y’all are getting it because there’s a healthy number of y’all that think that a 4-0 record against a mediocre 3A schedule and an 0-4 Lumberton team that has fallen off the face of the earth means y’all would be competing in 9-4A. y’all opted up for a reason, and it wasn’t to play against a higher level of competition. If y’all had stayed put, there would be 3-4 reality checks coming down the pipe. So absolutely enjoy the season and the success y’all will have, but try not to let it go to your heads.

Lamarque is part of Texas City ISD now. Not sure on new Stadium , maybe a school.

I'm jealous for other reasons. Not the red shirts nor the concession stand. Maybe it's the FREE YouTube broadcasts? Naw. It's the community and kids embracing the new staff and the culture change they brought with them. Winners rub off on others. Cardinal country will no longer be known as a baseball school. Although I expect winning on the gridiron to help on the diamond next spring.

Clearly you have an issue with race, because he only mentioned the kid hairstyle and that set you and others from that area off. Having diversity on the team means absolutely nothing if you’re not treating every kid within the program and school district the same. Glad we sent y’all home with that loss. Bridge City has improved, that's a fact!! But what I want to see is what they can do against a a team with a fast, quick defense. I also want to see if they can defend a speedy offense. Can the BC secondary hold up against a strong passing game? I have seen BC twice this season. Scrimmage against Silsbee, game against Orangefield. On the sidelines for both. So I have seen with my own eyes, up close. I just have some doubts what BC could do against some fast, athletic teams. I think they would struggle some. I just don't think they WOULD beat Silsbee, Jasper, HF and WO-S. Could they? Well maybe.

There are holds on every play. Players are even coached to grab the jersey inside the frame of the defender. There are a lot more to holding than what people think.

We (including me) seem to be still discussing the LC game, but I think it's wrt the upcoming Huntsville game. Hopefully there will be a good crew of refs. I didn't keep count and I haven't watched a replay (it's not my job to watch replays), but there was plenty enough holding and blocking in the back going on, and on at least two of LC's long TD runs it was blatant and very visible. At least finally 1 TD was called back for holding in the second half, so perhaps the PNG coaches got in the ref's ears pretty good during the first half, especially at the end of the first half when PNG had to score twice, on 3rd down and again on 4th down, in order to get the TD. PNG coaches were not happy at all with the non calls, and neither was I when I saw at least one defender's eyes being poked. Let's hope it's not that way in Huntsville, and it will be a good game.

I think we’d be competitive with Silsbee, Jasper, and WOS… BC hasn’t even watched film of a team as good as HF.

I think it would be a competitive game, especially is Silsbee is fighting off the injury bug. I wouldn’t bet either way, though. I went to the BC/Silsbee scrimmage… Our defense needed a little time to settle down, but nobody scored in the live action quarters. BC’s defense is without a doubt better than Silsbee’s, and our QB looked better than anybody on the Tiger’s roster. We could use more athleticism, though. I’d give the coaching edge to BC, also… Smalley makes adjustments. I think it would be a good game, either way.

I saw Ball play the 2nd half vs Sterling, but it should be a good game and like most football games whoever can run the ball better and least turnovers will win. This is a district game that Ball has needed the past 2 years to help them get ready for the playoffs.

Just looked. Hardin already had their homecoming a couple of weeks ago. Thank goodness.

If Bama would have won in blow out fashion give them #1 hands down… but giving up a huge lead like that ehh not so sure.. regardless they are 1 or 2 and Texas will be the other one imo.

Yes!! The hate and sarcasm against BC is sickening. These are kids working hard, buying into the new system and new coaches. Congratulate them and move on.

Nobody is saying that BC is a juggernaut. They are vastly improved, but not juggernauts. You see, It’s this level of sarcasm and hate that bothers me. BC finally has something to be excited about and comments like yours show that you are jealous of it, you are unhappy in life, or maybe you’re just simply a mule (for lack for a better term).

Just got steamrolled. I looked at their schedule half expecting them to have played Fred Home School children 4 times like a certain former basketball coach there but that wasn’t the case.

Last night was a battle between 2 of the BEST O-Lines in the region, possibly all of 5A div II!! As far as Huntsville, no doubt they have a GREAT defense and 2 speedsters at RB…just not sure about their O-line or passing game. I think it’ll come down to which PNG team from last night shows up…mistakes in the 1st half pretty much handed LC 21 points so take those away and score probably wouldn’t have been that close because we came out and held them to 2 scores in the 2nd half!

I think our O-line is better than LCs. I had to remind myself in all my “what is going on with the defense” panic : Our o-line played at a crazy high level last night. It’s crazy how they simply deleted the d-line and LBs from the game.

Wins over Buna, Kirbyville, Orangefield and Lumberton. Let me tell you. The state is SHAKING in their boots over this POWERHOUSE Bridge City team. Definitely was not impressed. They will be okay in district and MAYBE squeak out a playoff spot. Lumberton on the other hand. They might not win a game. Back to the traditional losing attitude for those Raiders.
